Question about Dynasty leagues or semi dynasty leagues (1 Viewer)

Liquid Tension

Footballguy
I have played in an excellent 9 man keeper league for many years. It allows faster turnover of the roster to get weaker teams up to speed faster and also gives the dynasty feeling where you can keep the players you are attached to and still have 1-2 projects. Anyway, in looking at the possibility of going full blown dynasty I didn't want to get into contracts and holding players for "x" amount of years. Have people had success with Dynasty leagues where you know you will have "Aaron Rodgers" on your team for the next 7 years unless you trade him or is it a must to have contracts?

looking for some insight and perspectives here

TIA

Contracts are not a must. In fact, I'd say that contract leagues most likely represent a strong minority of all dynasty leagues. If you don't have contracts, then some teams are going to get really, really terrible (although I suspect that teams will get terrible even if you do have contracts- bad owners will be bad owners regardless of the format). Still, if you're a good owner, it's possible to remain competitive even if one owner manages to assemble a juggernaut.
