Quiet Riot made their hits on the backs of Slade (who were a whole lot better) - Twisted Sister for the win.

I like Twisted Sister, but went with Quiet Riot. It's been a long time since I've heard Bang Your Head, and it was great listening to it. That song cannot be denied in this poll.

Song ranking of aforementioned groups...

1. Round and Round

2. Mental Health - Bang Your Head

3. Cum on Feel the Noise

4. I wanna Rock

5. Mama Weer All Crazee Now

Randy Rhoades founded QR so no contest even if QR didn't hit big til after he was gone. TS more of a joke to me but one of great rock anthems. As for Ratt, far better & more talented than both.

It funny, but your bolded comment was going to be exactly the original premise of the thread.Heard "I Wanna Rock" on the radio today, and I wondered if folks considered them serious musicians or just a sideshow.

Yea more sideshow to me. Look was too over the top. Success driven more by MTV. QR came out of the same LA scene with VH. More of a 'real' hard rock/metal band. Besides Rhoades, Carlos Cavazo (?) and Szarzo went on to other bands. I couldn't name anyone from TS aside from Snider.

trivia: the teenager playing the guitar in the beginning of the We're Not Gonna To Take It video, now plays the dad on Suburgatory.

I give the slight edge to QR. Both lead singers were terrible, but QR had a couple of top notch musicians in Rudy Sarzo and Carlos Carvazo. TS had a good guitarist with Eddie Ojeda, but the musicianship edge overall goes big to QR. And that's not even considering the Randy Rhoads days.

Both greatly benefitted from peaking (for lack of a better term) during the cheesy MTV video era. I preferred Quiet Riot by a landslide, but not sure if thats because I liked them that much or if i just didnt like Twisted Sister at all. Now, Ratt on the other hand.....

QR over TS. yes, QR ripped a few tunes off of Slade but still had some decent songs that never hit it big. my personal favorite is

I liked TS when I was a kid but most of their stuff is pretty cheesy. The Price was a great, great tune though

Ratt blows both of these bands out of the water.

Twisted Sister's drummer was a jazz prodigy growing up. Of course you can't hear that in the music, but he did have a stellar education. Dee Snider vs. Kevin Dubrow. I give Snider the nod, because Dubrow was a total doosh who pissed off the other band members and pretty much ruined all QR's success. Snider could kick Dubrow's ### anyday of the week until Sunday too.

AJ PeroSadly, I knew his name without looking it up.

Quiet Riot has the better music (even if a good deal of it is stolen from Slade) but Twisted Sister has the better shtick.
I don't disagree, but it's not like Twisted Sister's shtick is original - pretty much borrowed from previous bands like Alice Cooper, Kiss, and The New York Dolls, among others.

Quiet riot. Any rock band where the lead singer is going bald durIng the height of their stardom is awesome by me.

CC deVille learned from some fmaous dude at NYU. Most of the hair metal dudes could play really well, they just took the easy road and made bad accessable music with terrible costumes. BTW, Im realy glad that Dee did take on the PMRC.

Dee Snider got to sing a duet to "Baby Love" with Debbie Gibson on Celebrity Apprentice last week. Didn't help Clay Aiken win, though...

Maybe the next poll should be an update of Debbie Gibson vs. Tiffany.

Well said.Ratt had better songs and better albums. TS and QR had one decent album each. Ratt had a handful. Warren DiMartini is a very good guitar player and had a sound/style that was a little different than 99% of the other heavy metal bands. Ratt was a much better band than QR or TS and it is not even close in my book.

The TS songs that were not on MTV are much better than the songs that were. I cannot stand to hear I Wanna Rock or We're Not Gonna Take It. Awful.
