**Rams at Lions (-3, 51.5), SNF Wild Card Weekend Game #5** (2 Viewers)

Stafford dinged up?
After Hutchinson hit him legal, watch the 2nd hit. Forearm to the head and Stafford's helmet hit the turf hard.

This. Hutchinson was fine. The second hit was late. I think the step on the shoulder was accidental.
I thought they were both late, but the second hit exasperated the 1st. He could have pulled up. That was reckless.

So bad calls are even. Both killed drives for each team.

"Exacerbated" , he whispered...

Autocorrect for the win.

Is it me.....or are injuries just spiraling out of control in the NFL.

Too big too strong too fast to sustain this violent game?
The QBs hold onto the ball longer than ever before.

Back in the day they got rid of the ball much faster when there was pressure .

At least the Rams have Wentz. Say what you want about him, he's a lot better than most backup QBs, especially what the Rams had in previous years.

Interesting note, if Wentz comes in and plays the rest of the game, he will still not have played a whole playoff game.

Not to compare middle school athletes to professionals, but my 13yo son plays football and rugby. Both tough violent sports and I've seen injuries in both, but football much more dangerous IMO because of all the pads. In rugby they learn proper tackling techniques, etc. because if you recklessly go full speed headfirst into someone you're just as likely to jurt yourself as them. In football they have this false confidence because they're wearing pads and helmets and just throw their bodies at each other at full speed trying to make the biggest impact possible.

Like you said, the size and speed of these guys is incredible and having them fire themselves like missiles at each other at full speed is unsustainable for the sport long-term. Would love to see the NFL somehow put more emphasis on things like making proper tackles as opposed to just trying to light people up, but that would be a whole culture shift in the sport.
