As long as I don't twist my ankle between now and then. Are you running the marathon?
Awesome. It's getting lonely in the 2020 FBG marathon completion club.As long as I don't twist my ankle between now and then.
No, haven't got anything, and just checked their FB earlier today. Latest update from July. I wonder if Meltzer is just referring to the fact that it hasn't been canceled?@Zasada, Karl Meltzer just posted on FB about Run Rabbit Run being on - did you get an email or anything?
hold my pinot noirAwesome. It's getting lonely in the 2020 FBG marathon completion club.

How are you feeling, btw?I was made later that night when I realized I could have added two more miles for a double marathon. :( Next time.
Everything recovered quickly except my left toes. I'd mentioned that I felt my toes moving around too much, and the big toe and the toe that stayed home have lingering issues. The big toe continues to be swollen and painful, though as of last night it seemed a little better. Today I can get it into shoes without excruciating pain. Is all of this anything I should be worried or do anything about? How are you feeling, btw?
Lake Sonoma 50 has a wine tasting event associated with it, but not sure about the aid stations.hmmm...Never been to an event with aid stations serving anything but beer and liquor.
Nah, there's plenty of people with 9 toes that get around fine and live full lives.Everything recovered quickly except my left toes. Was he caught red handed talking about clam shells again.Did ChiefD get suspended again?

"Day 2, Captain's Log -- Still ugly but have not removed from feet. Luxurious"I normally hate sandals and fight with my kids bc they want to do ninja warrior type #### in slides all the time.
But these are so ugly they have to be good for your feet. 1.5 big toes up so far.
@tri-man 47 actually DID get suspended, ironically. Serves him right for hanging out with the rest of the lefties in the politics thread.Shhhhh......you are sending out the toesignal for @tri-man 47.

I just keep waiting for Lynchburg to force the oak Barrell half to be cancelled. It's in October, and small so there's a chance.Jack and Jill officially cancelled :(

If I don’t #### the bed I’m running one tomorrow morningAwesome. It's getting lonely in the 2020 FBG marathon completion club.
I combined the sandals with compression socks last night and had a legendary dog walk."Day 2, Captain's Log -- Still ugly but have not removed from feet. Luxurious"
Full dad mode engaged.I combined the sandals with compression socks last night and had a legendary dog walk.
Man, even I haven't done that.I combined the sandals with compression socks last night and had a legendary dog walk.
So I wasn't the only one who originally read that as "ravaged."You sick bassturd.
No ####? Last guy I would have expected to get the hook. Just goes to show how divisive things are when "happy to give you a foot rub brother" flips out.@tri-man 47 actually DID get suspended, ironically. Serves him right for hanging out with the rest of the lefties in the politics thread.![]()
Well he's only been a great guy and contributing member of this community for 23 years or so, so it makes a lot of sense to suspend someone rather than delete a post or two and ask him to tone it downNo ####? Quoting this for posterity's sake.@SteelCurtain, We can be butt buddies?
As someone who's always had a nagging right piriformis, I'd highly recommend rolling it on a lacrosse ball. There are also a handful of basic stretches that really seem to help me loosen it up. IIRC, you're allergic to the weight room, but I'm sure a few squats, lunges, RDLs, etc. wouldn't hurt either..Heard while the PT was massaging my butt today, trying to find the location of my pain:
"Ohhh, OK... how about there... is that the money spot?"

I'm just surprised that a member of the 99.9% majority over there was actually taken to task...Careful now![]()
I think Joe is about done with the childish behavior on the boards that has ratcheted up with everyone having more time on their hands. It's gone from hey tone it down to 2 weeks off, move to the next one, 2 weeks off, lather, rinse, repeat. Shame but I get it.
I'm guessing it's @tri-man 47's first time out so much like the valedictorian that gets the 3 day suspension for doing something stupid that is out of character, he can proudly wear the badge now with the rest of us miscreants![]()
So you're saying the running more/running slower thing is making you faster?did a 10ish K- normal run into brooklyn and back over two bridges. tempoed the brooklyn bit... ~4m and pushed the return bridge (Manhattan bridge) to try to get a strava segment PR at roughly mile 5-6.
very happy with it- whole thing was avg 7:59s (8:30s 1st and last mile) and I PRed the climb and overall bridge just over 7s.
I could have gone faster for sure- breathing was pushed a little but comfortable doing 7:30-45s until the bridge.
I held things back a bit so I could push the bridge and PR... but generally- I should be pushing the tempo runs so that breathing is more labored (I don't have HR and go by feel... sue me)?
Listen to PT while recovering, but I beg of you to start doing these (and upper body exercises) to minimize the probability of this or something else happening again. I'm sure saying this makes you want to reach through your device and slap me, but 5-10 less miles per week and replaced with strength training will do future Big Z better. Volume may be king, but it doesn't matter if you're not healthy. As someone who's always had a nagging right piriformis, I'd highly recommend rolling it on a lacrosse ball.
