I just do one a day. There really is no rules per se.
Just do however long you can hold it day one and proceed from there. If you can only hold in 30 seconds, hold it 30 seconds. And then progress from there.
IIRC you do everything at home, but in case I'm wrong...do you have a gym membership? Covid aside I've veered away from push ups because over time they have a tendency to irritate an old injury. I got hit on the wrist with a pitch when I was a kid and the fracture didn't heal right, so my wrist will never be the same.
That said, I do chest press in a way that's kindasortanotreally similar to a push up. I use dumb bells on a flat bench then elevate my legs to do the exercise, so my entire body is engaged doing the chest press rather than just the primary muscle groups. I may look like an idiot doing it, but I'm a married 38 year old with 3 kids - the #### do I care if I look like a moron at the gym![]()

really happy for gb.
can you do the early run- before the family wakes up? that was the only thing that worked for me, wfh or otherwise.
Noxgear Tracer360Thanks GB. And, yes, I can run in the mornings. Thats what I have done previously. But, you know...its cold and dark now![]()
As for the cold, you'll have to figure out for yourself how to keep your ball joints warm.Noxgear Tracer360As for the cold, you'll have to figure out for yourself how to keep your ball joints warm.
Cool. You should look into getting the Noxgear Tracer too.Already got one![]()
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1S6UFN_boK-jHFyrrhBR9Ku3B7UGolBCGQE48dQc0coM/edit#gid=0I'm better at following a stated goal than doing "however long." Since you said you were doing 90 seconds, I did 90 seconds. Straight-arm plank because it's easier on my Big Ball Joints. Am I supposed to put this on a spreadsheet somewhere?
Yeah, I can see how this would work. I don't have a gym membership, though.
I plan on planking too. Should i make a column on the main sheet or does it make sense to use the already established tab titled “chief’s planks”??
I had updated the dates on that sheet and just input my time there.SteelCurtain said:I plan on planking too. Should i make a column on the main sheet or does it make sense to use the already established tab titled “chief’s planks”??
same. 1:30 was a grind but doable. My peloton core workouts are paying off.I had updated the dates on that sheet and just input my time there.

Now that you've checked the marathon box, do you have a particular goal you're pushing for?
How do I officially get in on this push up action?
Nice! I think I will be similar to 2020 and end up around 1300 miles for the year. Assuming it finally doesn't get pushed due to covid, the HM I signed up for 2 years ago is supposed to be April 24, so I'll be HM training during the same period as youRight now, I want to hit 2,000 for the year. I should get it done minus any unforeseen injuries (knock on wood).
Then, I don't 100% know. There is a Columbus HM in April that I have in my sights. I'd like to see what I can do in that race since my last HM was the virtual one we did last Thanksgiving.
Pretty sure I'll be doing 50 sets of 2 by Wednesday.
Whose dumb idea was this?
Jump in the file and add your name to the first empty column. Then, act like day 1 is no big deal, followed by complaining how sore you are for the next 3 days.
Well, I started a day early, so day 2 did kind of suck. And day 1 didn’t. It’s like y’all have done this before.Jump in the file and add your name to the first empty column. Then, act like day 1 is no big deal, followed by complaining how sore you are for the next 3 days.

You are on track to fall 6 miles short of your goal. Not much of a surge needed.Awesome guys.
meanwhile, I’m going to have to surge to hit my goal of 1,000 miles this year, at 870 now. I think I’ll get there.
On the bright side, I haven’t completely gone to $h!t yet. 2 minutes of push-ups = 75, then 25 a couple minutes later.
This.
even WFH, I find I need to run or swim or ride before the crazies get up and I start work.
plus, if I exercise in the morning I can finish the work day off with a beer.
Thanks. I’ve been in the surge, I was kind 30 behind a couple weeks ago.You are on track to fall 6 miles short of your goal. Not much of a surge needed.
75 push-ups in 2 minutes? Man, I’m wiped after a couple sets of 20, with a break in between.
They're great. I advise proceeding with caution if you see anything related to a Sophia Urista special though. As we've got some cyclists in here and Peloton enthusiasts, has anyone ever used or encountered one of these elliptical bikes before?
I'm wondering how this would be for recovery days or just to do something different that is still similar to running.

I still mock him.
What's wrong with a regular old bike? Or get a recumbent bike if you still really want to look like an idiot.

Yes, I've encountered them....and to @El Floppo's point, I probably laughed for a solid 5-10 minutes afterwards. As we've got some cyclists in here and Peloton enthusiasts, has anyone ever used or encountered one of these elliptical bikes before?

What's the benefit of a team registration vs. individual?Anyone interested in putting in for Berlin as a team? I already have one other person so looking for a third. If not, no big deal.
Details here.
I’m already in as individual but would switch to team to help our odds.Anyone interested in putting in for Berlin as a team? I already have one other person so looking for a third. If not, no big deal.
