Rand Paul wins CPAC nom (1 Viewer)

I think he gets the real presidential nomination. I'm going to bow out after starting the thread, but what does everyone think?

If he gets the nomination, then the party is really saying to the dems "we think you can win all 50 states!"

I don't care if you dig up Ronald Reagan and throw his skin over **** Cheney and have Karl Rove operating the animatronics, ain't nobody beating Bernie Sanders/Elizabeth Warren or Elizabeth Warren/Bernie Sanders... Not even Hillary Clinton!

Oh, wait. Don't you owe money somewhere?

When your keynote speaker is Palin reading Green Eggs and Ham without understanding the irony... :loco: yeah, basically a tea party circle jerk.

Rand Paul just has way too many issues to be the real nominee let alone President.

Like that dangerous streak of libertarianism right?

I was stunned when I saw that. That she is still relevant at all tells you all you need to know about the state of conservatism in this country. Just sad.

I guess this means he will be president just like Mitt. I mean Mitt does hold the record for winning these and now he is president. So they are very good at foretelling the future.

Rick Perry will be their man.
He's always the man, until he opens his mouth
On the right(ish) end of the spectrum they eat up what he says. He had them all lathered up at the pep rally.

Got a long standing ovation. Said nothing.

I mean the thing is, these libs will come in here and crack jokes while failing to realize they don't have any good candidates either. Just because she will win, doesn't mean Hills is some super-candidate to be President.

Hillary is another blue dog and not my idea of a great candidate. I think she loses the nom again. People who want it this bad should never have it.

Is this kind of bad news for Ted Cruz? I mean this is kind of his sort of thing, if Rand is ahead of him here does it inidcate he is going to have a rocky road, or is it completely meaningless?

Who will dare to oppose her for the nom?

Who has even close to the money and big-name supporters?

This early, it's meaningless....I think you do want to be in the conversation, but dozen votes at a conference....meh

Yep, just like Romney.

These idiots are making the U.S. a one party system. The republicans need to go the way of the whigs and a new party of the middle class needs to be born. I know, that's impossible. These jackasses stood around with their thumbs up their asses while the democrats grabbed the poor vote and control over the country. Now the only way to defeat them is to get the middle class on their side fully. Too bad they are too stupid to do so.

Green eggs and ham. WTF. Go do some bangbros, ya #######.

Since the tradition began in 1976, the straw poll has been conducted four times in midterm election years when an incumbent Republican president was not seeking re-election. The winners of those straw polls were Jack Kemp in 1986, Steve Forbes in 1998, George Allen in 2006 and Ron Paul in 2010.
That's quite the track record they got going there.

Sanders is going to run and get lots of money from netroots. I don't think he can win the nom but he is going to push the race to the left and encourage some others to run. She is not inevitable any more than she was last time. A lot of Clinton fatigue in the Democratic Party. All the current pro Clinton press is from the third wayers and their sycophants. I know I am not the only Dem voter completely sick and tired of them.

Sorry NC, you're a small minority. It'll be Hillary, and in the end you'll vote for her because you won't be able to stomach the GOP alternative.

I won't vote for her. I wouldn't vote for Bill again. I will vote the rest of the ticket and write in a presidential rather than vote for her. Hillary will never, ever, ever, get my vote.

Jon Stewart had a little snippet last night pointing out that in recent midterm election years when a D was sitting president the 2nd place vote getter in the straw poll was the eventual nominee. 1998 - Bush, 2006 - McCain, 2010 - Romney.

2014 - Cruz. :X

I'm not sauggesting anything about Obama.
