Hey guys,I'm not much of an IDP dude, but I thought I would share my observations about what I'm seeing in Seattle so far this season.DL: Grant Wistrom is back and full throttle. He was one of the reasons Seattle started so well last season and looked dominate. When he sent down, they fell apart. He was able to put great pressure on Aaron Brook tonight. He and Fisher aren't going to set any records, but I think they'll do fine. Much better against the run then what we saw last season (especially with Wistrom - he has marvelous technique in stretching out runs). Tubbs should start and the team expect huge things from him. I didn't see it in the Saints game tonight. LeCharles Bentley and the Saints O-line puched the pile and McAllister gained solid yardage up the gut.LB: Koot started at MLB. The jury is still out on Tatupu. Wish I had something to report there. Rookie LB LeRoy Hill started for Seattle at OLB. That guy is fast. Small, but fast. Created a turnover off a sack coming off the corner. Did I mention he was fast? I think he has a great shot to start. Being undersized he'll probably struggle against the run, but he has a great shot to be the pass rush specialist they used to have in a healthy Chad Brown.DB: Boulware looks like he's going to be playmaker they hoped he would be. Has a great nose for the ball. Hamlin is still out, but should return before the season starts. Andre Dyson started opposite Trufant. After leading the team in tackles last season Trufant might do it again. Dude runs to the ball and makes plays against the run. Probably not a good sign when you won't be surprised to see your CB lead your team in tackles.Let me know if you want me to keep an eye out for anything specific.

Good to hear! I drafted him in the final round of an IDP rookie draft

Thanks Shick! I think Leroy Hill is a big time sleeper. Like to hear how he performs and develops through the rest of the preseason. I also picked him up in my rookie draft. Also have Winstrom so I like to hear he is looking good.

what are the chances of Boulware moving to FS if Hamlin isn't back by the start of the season?

thanx Shick!awesome report... that would be great if you could continue to monitor the MLB situation & keep us posted.also...how is tubbs progressing.does boulware look hawaii-bound good... i have him ranked about #5 safety after only few guys like harrison, williams, polamalu & reed... he was EASILY one of the best looking rookie IDPs at any position last season, & that is saying a lot as there were a few good ones, like vilma & robinson.

Zero chance. Boulware looks like the prototype SS that is tough against the run and hits like a sledgehammer. His LB experience at FSU plays into this nicely. Hamlin is entrenched as the FS.A thought about Hamlin... When he was at Arkansas he posted totally sick tackles numbers. Well over 100+ each season. This hasn't translated to the NFL. I think he might have been leaned on more in college. I guess that's to be expected to a point. Also probably being used differently. Playing more center field.

thanx Shick!

Found this note from Clare Farnsworth at the Seattle PI concerning Tubbs...
The Saints' No. 1 offense did not produce a first down when the defensive tackle tandem on free-agent pickup Chuck Darby and Marcus Tubbs, last year's first-round draft choice, was on the field.

"Chemistry is definitely building between us," said Tubbs, who rooms with Darby on the road. "Chuck is so smart and he's been around the game so long, and I'm just a pup. So just being able to tap into his wisdom is awesome."

The Saints did get gut-gouging runs of 12, 8 and 5 yards from Deuce McAllister on a 44-yard drive to a 50-yard field goal by John Carney in the first quarter. But the damage came with Rocky Bernard and Craig Terrill subbing for the disruptive, run-stuffing duo of Darby and Tubbs.
I couldn't help but notice McAllister pounding the center of the Seattle D-Line for chunks of yardage. However, I didn't notice it wasn't Tubbs in the game. I know the Seahawks are going to lean on him to be the run stuffer that Holmgren has been searching for.I think its too early to label Boulware as future all-Pro yet.Yet. Like I said, the guy makes plays and is always around the ball.

Another SEA note...Dyson was carted off the field yesterday. Maybe it's serious...maybe it's not. Either way, the CB (Dyson or Herndon??) who starts opposite Trufant could be an IDP sleeper. The #2 CB in SEA will have the opportunity to be "attacked" by the trio of A Smith, Bulger, and Warner a total of six times in '05.
