Tigers are the slowest team in baseball. HR are about the only way to score.
You're damn right they are when their only fast guy is completely lost at the plate. At the end of Detroit's season AJAX needs to go home and get in the batting cages for the next few months.

Will someone please share with me why Texas/Detroit is giving way to St. Louis/Milwaukee? These stupid early starts while the other series starts at 8:00? Really? Milwaukee?

The other game is on tbs or is it tnt? NL does not have any marquee teams so they get primetime on cable. Fox really overpaid for ALCS rights and have decided to punt the games for their reality TV which gets insane ratings.

MLB must be elated. What a disgrace. x factor. I want just one punch to Cowell's face. Just one!

Not sure how that is a tough call. The ball hit the bag, how can it be foul. Kind of like hitting the foul pole....Oh yeah, huge triple VMart!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The only question now is if the bullpen can hold this lead. That is no guarantee without their two best.

I am guessing we are counting on Coke in the 8th and 9th.

Texas bullpen not exactly fresh either .....have to think they try to have CJ pitch the entire game as well.

Rangers finally got a starter through six innings, and he gave up six runs and his team leads the series 3-1. The world is upside-down, I can never remember a series like this.

Look how awful the bullpen which is left has been in post season:

Perry 9.00 ERA

Schleref....10.80

Coke....10.13

Al Al....40.50

That Raburn HR makes me feel safer though.

Yeah most of that damage was game 4 vs the Yankees though. Coke was great in this series.

Assuming there is no complete meltdown in the 9th, I kind of like the Tigers chances going to Texas. Both Scherzer and Fister have been rock solid and should give 6 or 7 strong innings. Outside of Jackson, the Tigers bats are heating up. Got some time off for Benoit and Velverde. Texas is a great club, but it will not be an easy task for the Rangers to close it out.

Is Verlander really as gassed as I am reading today? I know he has pitched a ton of innings but I thought Leyland was treating him with kid gloves when it comes to him getting full rest.
He threw the most innings in MLB this year, he's tired like anyone who has thrown 260+ innings in today's game.

The Rangers cut the deficit to 7-4 on a two-run home run by Cruz – his fifth home run of the ALCS – in the top of the eighth. The home run came on a 100-mph fastball, the 133rd pitch from Verlander, who established a career high.
