+1. After I read the terms of the trade, I thought Rotoworld mistaked the Ravens for NE.What a freaking steal. a lot of GMs should be kicking themselves in the behind.

I agree. At that price, I was hoping that SF would make a move for him. I love watching Boldin play and he could have kept the same uniform color...........What a freaking steal. a lot of GMs should be kicking themselves in the behind.
I think so.Instead of being a #2 in Arizona with an iffy QB situation, he becomes an unquestioned #1 in Baltimore with a solid QB situation. And with that line and running game, he should do well. Flacco gets a big bump from this as well.Is this a good thing for him in the fantasy world? It's better than getting passes from Leinart IMO.
I think all Flacco owners are happy with this move. However, the excuses are over for Flacco after 2010. It will be his 3rd season and he should have a pretty good WR corps. Its either Big Ben or Trent Edwards for Flacco, we should know by this time next year.As a Flacco/Boldin owner I am very pleased!
I'm not so sure short term with mason still around. We may be looking at mason like numbers for Q and mason.I think so.Instead of being a #2 in Arizona with an iffy QB situation, he becomes an unquestioned #1 in Baltimore with a solid QB situation. It sounds like he's going elsewhere as a FA. That's why I'm reluctant to give a big boost to Flacco right now.Being a Boldin owner, I was hoping he'd go to the Pats. But being the #1 in Baltimore can't be bad. So, what of Derrick Mason?
Thanks for the memories in the desert, Q. Hope he gets that payday he deserves.Too bad the $ situation just didn't make any sense for the Cards. Hopefully, when he's all done, he can do one of those ceremonial retirements as a Cardinal. Guy is still loved in PHX. Baltimore just got themselves one hell of a warrior and a guy the team rallies around.
I'm really pretty bummed right now. I knew the chances were slim, but I was holding out hope that they could get something worked out.All Denny Green guys (eta Q is actually a McGinnis guy, wow). I'm looking at this as the continuation of Whiz molding the team into some sort of grand plan. Hopefully, it's a good thing in the big picture.Just got my ticket renewal notice in the mail this week. I'm considering moving into the cheap seats for this season just to keep my place in line and see how this thing shakes out. I have a feeling the home sellout streak is going to end this year.My favorite player gone. I will still wear his jersey with pride to every home game. I love Q and love the way he played. Lots of awesome memories, and it's very sad to see him go.Warner, Boldin, Dansby, and Rolle all gone. Lots of leadership is missing. My hopes for this next year are pretty darn low. Hopefully we can keep some of the good things going and not completely go back into the tank.
Instead of sharing catches with Fitz, it'll be Mason. Yeah, it's definitely a good thing for him in the fantasy world. Especially in the red zone.Is this a good thing for him in the fantasy world? It's better than getting passes from Leinart IMO.
And the Cardinals are considerably worse.Just another example of how Dallas overpaid for a guy like Roy Williams.
I don't love the fit in terms of fantasy for Boldin. I don't think they he ever gets the kind of numbers he was getting with Arizona and Kurt Warner, I don't care if he's the unquestioned No. 1 in Baltimore. I'd bump Flacco slightly but not enough to be an every week starter on a fantasy team.
Baltimore is a better football team because of this trade.
Cards could be awful this year. Dont' forget about Berry retiring. And the Cardinals are considerably worse.Just another example of how Dallas overpaid for a guy like Roy Williams.

That's interesting. I was thinking of taking the opposite approach and hoped to improve my location this year. I figure there will be a lot of people not renewing, and that opens up better seats. I'd love to be in the ring of honor. We are in row 11 upper deck at about the 30 right now.And I agree that the sellout streak will end this year. We have a pretty tough schedule, and if we don't get a good start it's going to be a long, quiet season. All Denny Green guys. Breaston and Doucet will do just fine. And the Cardinals are considerably worse.Just another example of how Dallas overpaid for a guy like Roy Williams.

Exactly where are you hearing this?Mason's going to stay in Baltimore and be the #2, which is what the Ravens wanted. Mason's not a WR1 in the NFL right now, he's a possession guy.Mark Clayton and Stallworth are now WR3/WR4 at best.It sounds like he's going elsewhere as a FA. That's why I'm reluctant to give a big boost to Flacco right now.Being a Boldin owner, I was hoping he'd go to the Pats. But being the #1 in Baltimore can't be bad. So, what of Derrick Mason?
With the loss of Kurt Warner and Boldin together, it'll be hard to exactly pinpoint the effect of losing just Boldin will have but there's no question that this team is not as good as the team that made the playoffs just a few months ago.And the Cardinals are considerably worse.Just another example of how Dallas overpaid for a guy like Roy Williams.

I have no doubt they all respect his talent, and appreciate what a warrior he is. The reality is he's missed a lot of games in his career. He hasn't played a full slate of games since 2006. Now add to that the fact that he is turning 30 this year. Players with sketchy injury histories in their 20s generally don't turn that around in their 30s.What a freaking steal. a lot of GMs should be kicking themselves in the behind.

Your're really swapping Doucet for Boldin. Not a great swap in my book.I sure hope Doucet steps up and plays well though. That would be very cool because he is a really great, humble guy.Breaston and Doucet will do just fine. And the Cardinals are considerably worse.Just another example of how Dallas overpaid for a guy like Roy Williams.

Nothing is gauranteed, especially with how physical he is. He's been known to miss games and when you do that, to say 73/1028/7 is gauranteed isn't true.If you told me he's definately playing 16 games next season, I'd say he'd hit those numbers but I can't gaurantee he or anyone else is playng every game.A complete steal. Baltimore will become a top-10 offense; this could really be an important piece of another Super Bowl run.Mason's 2009 numbers are Boldin's floor: 73/1028/7. Guaranteed top 20 with top 10 upside.
Do we really need to put a "barring injury" caveat on every stat projection? He played in the same number of games as Mason in 2009.Nothing is gauranteed, especially with how physical he is. Dunno if it will be Mason now this has happened. No guarantee he's coming back and he was asking for a 2-year deal.Ravens are a much more 'old skool' team with running game/defense than the cards as well. Less opportunities thereInstead of sharing catches with Fitz, it'll be Mason. Yeah, it's definitely a good thing for him in the fantasy world. Especially in the red zone.Is this a good thing for him in the fantasy world? It's better than getting passes from Leinart IMO.
Eh, this doesn't get me too excited as a Boldin owner. He will never produce the type of numbers he did in AZ. With Baltimore still running plenty, Ray Rice getting a ton of catches and assuming Mason stays he'll catch another 60-80 balls. As such, Boldin's ceiling isn't that high, but it is better than staying in AZ with Leinart as the QB.I think this is great news for Boldin owners. I can see him doing very well as the #1 WR in Baltimore
He hasn't played 16 games in 4 years.Do we really need to put a "barring injury" caveat on every stat projection? He played in the same number of games as Mason in 2009.Nothing is gauranteed, especially with how physical he is. Doucet certainly looked the part when he got playing time near the end of the year but it's more than just Boldin for Doucet. It's also some draft picks. I don't think losing Boldin has much impact on the Cardinals but it's a huge impact on the Ravens. It's a steal for them.Your're really swapping Doucet for Boldin. Mason didn't play 16 games in 2009, either. He hasn't played 16 games in 4 years.Do we really need to put a "barring injury" caveat on every stat projection? He played in the same number of games as Mason in 2009.
I think Mason is as good as gone. Boldin is a great WR but he's not a downfield threat. When he makes big plays it's usually because of his YAC. It's why teams were not bidding crazy on him because he's not the typical stretch the defense type player. Lining him up with Mason is lining up two possession WR's.Exactly where are you hearing this?Mason's going to stay in Baltimore and be the #2, which is what the Ravens wanted. This is all I'm saying but overall I like the trade for Baltimore. If you told me Boldin is gauranteed to play 16 games healthy, I'd say he's easily a top 10 guy. I don't like the "barring injury" thing on every stat projection either so I understand that but sometimes everyone goes gaga over a big move and it doesn't seem to work out the way everyone thought. I think many thought TO who was a great player everywhere he went would do better than he did last year would do better than he did. Flacco still has something to prove in terms of being able to produce an elite fantasy WR on a team that still will be run heavy and defense orientated. With all that said, football wise I can't see how this doesn't make Baltimore a better team.He hasn't played 16 games in 4 years.Do we really need to put a "barring injury" caveat on every stat projection? He played in the same number of games as Mason in 2009.Nothing is gauranteed, especially with how physical he is. Drop Mason and bring in TO, he'll stretch the field.LOL what a difference that would be from last year bringing in Boldin and TO.I think Mason is as good as gone. Boldin is a great WR but he's not a downfield threat. When he makes big plays it's usually because of his YAC. It's why teams were not bidding crazy on him because he's not the typical stretch the defense type player. His first season in the league, he had Jeff Blake and Josh McCown throwing him the ball, and the #2 WR was Bryant Johnson (who has yet to reach 750 yards in a season). Boldin put up 101/1377/8. There is no question that he is a proven WR; he doesn't need Fitz or a good QB to be productive. And what's all this talk about him being gasp 29 years old? Derrick Mason was 35 this year. 7 of the top 20 WRs were over 30.if hes in the correct situation, hes a stud, but no doubt about it, hes a 29-30 year old, injury prone wr. im interested to see how he fits in. he doesnt have the mega stud wr on the other side to take attention away rom him and he doesnt have a hall of famer throwin him the ball.
