Ray Rice video of KO punch released (1 Viewer)

Ray Ray needs to get wifey making a statement asap about their repaired relationship and he better be in counseling etc.
She already did this, and he has been in counseling. Everyone already knows he knocked her unconscious. The DA charged him for it. The NFL knows that. TMZ released the video to stir the pot again, and it's working.
Wonder how much TMZ paid for that video?
This is exactly the issue--if it's really true that the NFL has not seen this video--how on god's earth does TMZ manage to acquire it and not them? The NFL has faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar deeper pockets and far more resources than TMZ--and there is zero excuse for them to not be able to acquire this video before TMZ. If this is this truly the case--I think this is a major black eye for the NFL and Roger Goddell. It makes them look incompetent and unprofessional. I think it also in a crazy way could put pressure on the way they negotiate the new drug/dui/hgh policies with the players. Watching this tape--and knowing that as of this moment Rice only has a two game suspension--and knowing that Gordon has a full season suspension for weed--will re-open peoples emotions to the way the NFL handles things. Regardless of what happens--this is definitely not a good look for the NFL.

Peter King reported in July that the NFL had seen the video.

There is one other thing I did not write or refer to, and that is the other videotape the NFL and some Ravens officials have seen, from the security camera inside the elevator at the time of the physical altercation between Rice and his fiancée.
Now Peter King says this

If league officials saw this video before issuing the two-game ban for Rice, all the scorn that's been heaped on Roger Goodell and his colleagues will be deserved.

This is really starting to heat up.If Rog saw it and said he was cool with 2 games, I don't know, maybe going out on limb here, but Rog may have a problem staying the HMFIC.
its not going to end well for goodell. Either he saw it and didnt suspend long enough or he didnt and his hand will be forced to suspend rice longer. If he doesnt suspend rice longer its not good for him either. Looking really bad for goodell
And then could Rice have a lawsuit under the CBA (or whatever applies like labor law) claiming that Goodell can't rule twice on the same evidence? If Goodell claims he did not have this but Rice's team knows he in fact did they could seek to prove that.
I would think that definitely happens.
Rice would have nothing to sue over if the Ravens cut him. It is well within their rights to do so.
Outside of cutting him, I would think the CBA addresses any other scenario of coming back later and punishing again/changing punishment that already occurred.

If cut how long until someone picks him up? Would be interesting.

Uhm, never?

Not sure if there's a GM willing to walk into that furnace, and btw, Incognito is still a FA.

Its a little difficult to feel that sorry for her. She still married the #####.
True but she has him by the balls now. One argument and all she has to do is bang her head and say that Rice did it and she'll be in for a nice pay day and he could face jail time. So now she is in control and Rice is this lady's Bi***. A happy ending for the victim!

Of course that assumes he doesn't kill her first.
Maybe they're happily married. Moreso than most people?

Again, what about the video changes anything in terms of punishment? It shows what was understood to have happened. The Ravens knew what happened and it appears they are content to do little or nothing about it. I find it highly unlikely this changes anything.
You don't know what determined the punishment. Assuming they didn't see the elevator video until today: The punching bag seemed all too willing to shoulder some of the blame here, so there's a distinct possibility that the Ravens and the NFL got a different story from them than what this shows.

Its crazy, if I remember correctly some how this video wasnt initially available to the police? So an employee must have swiped it? The casino is now out of business but whover sold the video to TMZ has to face some legal consequences I would think? How did that happen?

True, and that was just for bullying. Vick killed dogs and got a shot. Hard to rank the levels of POS in the league.

I would guess that's correct, yes. And that's probably why they'd cut him (because it's probably the only thing they can do outside of something voluntary...which is also a possibility; if given the choice and you were Rice, what would you choose?). The cap impacts, etc. would probably have to stay on the up-and-up and so the Ravens would be negatively affected.

And I'd assume Rice wouldnt get a second chance for at least a year and that there'd be some back-channel talk to ensure that's the case at the minimum.

Here's the take of Broncos defensive tackle Terrance Knighton.

That man should be thrown out the the nfl and thrown into jail. Shame on those deciding his punishment. Smh

If there's anyway to open that case up and give this guy the punishment he deserves, it NEEDS to be done.

As players we must speak up. Stand up for what's right. I don't give a damn who u are or how much money you make. No place for this.

Here's what Packers guard T.J. Lang had to say:

2 games. Disturbing.
— TJ Lang (@TJLang70) September 8, 2014

From former linebacker Scott Fujita:

I'm glad no one this morning seems to care about yesterday's games. This piece of #### needs to be out of the league. Period.
— Scott Fujita (@sfujita55) September 8, 2014

And former offensive lineman LeCharles Bentley had a particularly strong take.

2 games?!?! His ### needs to be in jail. I don't smoke weed but I'd rather have a weed head on my team than a Ray Rice. #Coward

NFL players want to stand up for some shat, don't play against Ravens until Rice is suspended indefinitely. What if that was YOUR daughter?
— LeCharles Bentley (@LeCharlesBent65) September 8, 2014

He could've killed that girl. They need to sports science the force of that punch. NFL players are STRONG... Like very strong...
— LeCharles Bentley (@LeCharlesBent65) September 8, 2014

What? Took him two punches to knock her out? Then the hand rail is probably what really knocked her out when her head hit it. He doesn't deserve credit for the knockout.

In all seriousness...he's a punk ### beeyotch. Cut the thug and roll with Pierce and Taliaferro.
Agree she probably got knocked out by the hand rail. Really its hard to tell if either punch was open handed or closed fist.
And if he threw her off a building would you be saying, "she probably died from hitting the ground"?

All the people in here justifying this or in some way minimizing it has really brought this board to a new low.

That video should sicken everyone in here and he deserves to be banned for life from the nfl....as does anyone that does these things.

Thinking about this more and more...

The Ravens will likely cut him b/c that's the only move they can make which doesnt violate a CBA, etc....however...if faced with the choice of being cut or voluntarily accepting additional punishment, If Im Rice I voluntarily accept additional sanctions.

If McDonald is found guilty they should ban him as well.

Adam Schefter talked about it.

ESPN's top NFL reporter Adam Schefter went on SportsCenter Monday morning and criticized the NFL and the Baltimore Ravens over the Ray Rice fiasco. It's about as passionate as you'll ever see the normally stoic Schefter.

In the wake of TMZ releasing a disturbing new video of Rice knocking out his fiancee, Schefter called the NFL only suspending him for two games "arguably the biggest black eye the league has ever had." He said that the NFL should revisit the suspension if they'd never seen the video until today, adding, "If anybody in this company or any company out there ever did what he did, do you think they'd be working for that company much longer? It's hard to imagine that."

Here's a partial transcript from the nearly five-minute segment with Hannah Storm:

"It comes down to this: If the NFL had seen that video and suspended Ray Rice for two games, then it's an embarrassment of the highest proportion. And if it didn't seen the video before, then it's time to go back and revisit it.

"There's not a lot that the league can say that at this point will undo the wrong that has been done here. The league got this wrong. Roger Goodell admitted that he got this wrong. This is arguably the biggest black eye the league has ever had. ... Roger Goodell will look back on his time as commissioner of the NFL and say this is easily this is the biggest regret.

"The Ravens, also, accompanied Ray Rice to New York to the league meeting, opened their training facility for him to conduct a press conference, penned tributes to him on their website, supported him through this process. It is difficult to watch this video and bring those ideas together that anybody who could see anybody act like that could support any person. If anybody in this company or any company out there ever did what he did, do you think they'd be working for that company much longer? It's hard to imagine that."

Again, what about the video changes anything in terms of punishment? It shows what was understood to have happened. The Ravens knew what happened and it appears they are content to do little or nothing about it. I find it highly unlikely this changes anything.
as awful as it is, its everything we and the league knew and what Rice admitted to. I believe he could still face team punishment by being dis-activated a couple of extra games but the NFLPA can't let the league add onto the punishment handled out because of this.

Wish all these Twitter tough guys would do the same to all the scumbags arrested without the video too. They are all scum.
Right.

Will see if anyone calls for Hardy to be banned,

Knighton better be carefull with what he says

DENVER —Jack Elway, the 24-year-old son of Broncos legend John Elway, was arrested for a domestic violence incident Friday.

According to court records, Jack Elway faces disturbing the peace and assault charges for the incident that occurred on Colfax Avenue and North Lipan Street.

The victim reported the incident to Auraria Campus Police. He was later picked up at his home.

ack was arraigned on Saturday. A judge set bond at $550. A protection order was issued for the victim.

He was bonded out by his father. His next scheduled court appearance is June 5.

Broncos Executive Director of Media Relations Patrick Smyth released the following statement in regards to the issue: "This is a personal family matter and the Broncos will not have any additional comment on it."
I'm guessing John Sr. feels the same way and more so.

True...

the only way out of this is may be to cut Ray Rice.

That will likely happen at the public urging of the Commissioner and the private urging of the NFLPA. This would not exonerate Goodell on the specific (and valid) point youre making, but cutting him would be such a dramatic action that it would likely overshadow that detail
Exactly. I think Goodell will plead behind closed doors with the Ravens brass to do something more because its the right thing and to save his ###.

It may be time they all are punished appropriately regardless of whom they know (and release all the non violent war of drugs offenders while you're at it).

An awfully unfair system we have here.

Thinking about this more and more...

The Ravens will likely cut him b/c that's the only move they can make which doesnt violate a CBA, etc....however...if faced with the choice of being cut or voluntarily accepting additional punishment, If Im Rice I voluntarily accept additional sanctions.
I assume they'll stand by him like they have

they already proudly tweeted out that Janay appologized for her role. They are enablers and vicitm blamers. Unless they are forced to they'll start him game 3 to a standing ovation from the Ravens crowd

I'm surprised the NFL didn't try to buy the video and destroy it. This is very bad PR.

Wow, Ravens might release him!
Not really sure what they are waiting for. Is Ozzy out of the country?
I guess they face the same issue the NFL does where they already look horrible as they knew exactly what happened and did nothing. What now they are mad cause they got caught in the uproar? Harbaugh sounded like an idiot. Now all of the sudden he changes his support of Ray? Will be interesting.

Yea sounds like its inevitable now...Ray Ray might have played his last down...no NFL team will risk the PR nightmare of signing him..
I doubt the Ravens do anything about it. They are in the business of trying to win football games. They will let him serve his suspension and he'll be out on the field.

and if Rice comes out and says they saw the video, then what?

Report: Team Officials Expect Ravens To Release RB Ray Rice

To clarify: team officials<> Ravens team officials. Other teams are saying it, apparently.
