RB Aaron Jones, MIN (3 Viewers)

when are people going to wise up? sure, this is rbbc but if anyone has value it's Jones. Ty has ppr appeal but Jones can score from anywhere. Williams can score from the 3.5

30 touches for Packers RBs, split 12/11/7.  Lol at a "lions share".
15.2 points per game in ppr.

Who cares if he isnt getting a lions share? he is efficient as hell and a legitimate fantasy starter

ETA: Williams got 2.7 fp with one less carry

Green Bay Packers (2018)

Aaron Jones: 17 carries, 107 yards, 1 TD, 8 missed tackles

Jamaal Williams: 47 carries, 162 yards, 0 TD, 0 missed tackles

They both had 11 carries today

I was wrong on this. That said, I don't think this situation has a lot of value to squeeze. Congrats to the Jones truthers if he somehow becomes a 20 touch guy.

its only going to get better with Jones..GB is transitioning to a run based offense.Rodgers hasnt been the td throwing machine he used to be for quite some time now. Im actually more interested in Dalton than Rodgers. just a fact hes slipping. and likely to pound it with Jones more and more

Q: for those who watched the game... did usage rotate by series or randomly?

even the play usage was virtually the same.... A Jones RB 29 38% J Williams RB 28 37%

Disagree strongly with this take.  The health of Rodgers' knee is the thing that's dictating the playcalling right now.

Once he's back 100%, it'll be the ARod show again, and the three RBs will be back to fighting over 15 carries a game.

I did not watch the entire game, listened to the first quarter on the radio. From what I did watch it seemed random. There wasn't a rotation by series that I noticed. 3 plays of Williams followed by 3 with Jones, and 3 with Ty. At the end of the game, when GB wanted to run the ball, Jones was in. He was banged up briefly on a blitz pick up and left the game. He did come back into the game. That was telling to me- when they wanted to run the ball, Jones was the guy.

Dr. Dan said:
Yep!

Dalvin Cook: 110 attempts, 452 yards, 4.1 ypc, 2 TDs

Aaron Jones: 98 attempts, 555 yards, 5.7 ypc, 5 TDs

Comparing him to one of if not the most overrated fantasy assets this offseason isn't how you prove a point  :D

Not much love for A. Jones on early sleeper picks and rankings. Surprised. Thought he'd be hyped up a bit with the matchup @DET.

Until the absurd timeshare is actually broken in real life it will be tough for analysts to give him the touches that he should actually be getting in their predictions.

I have a feeling Jones becomes the main guy and gets to carry the load as the Packers offense starts to pick up.  I just traded Cooper for him.

Is he already worth a guy like Alex Collins or Kenyan Drake?
All murky situations. All coin flips. I wouldn’t feel comfortable with any of them on a consistency basis. I would say since he has had the fewest opportunities with the suspension and all he is the biggest unknown so perhaps the overall outlook is higher.

Alex Collins is exactly who I am benching for A. Jones this week.

Matchup is better and he should get goal line.

And, there is potential for both Cobb and Allison to be out.

While I don't expect 20 carries, I'd think it ticks up close to 15 after last week.

I’m in the same spot. Jones over Collins. They are trending in opposite directions. Jones has a great matchup too, he should shred Detroit.

Looking like Adams Cobb and Allison all may be out against the lions. Does this help or hurt Jones?

anyone think the lions will stack the box knowing the WR core is depleted....?

Two words on the Packer Lion history. Matt Flynn.  I would take my chances with Jones rather than stacking the box.

  They still have Rodgers. If they do stack the box, they are still the worst defense in the NFL vs the run

Is the box ever stacked against Rodgers? Pretty sure they’re gonna make Jones beat them and their run D is turrible so I see good things this weekend for him. Starting with confidence in one league.

One other thought, if all 3 WRs are out, I wouldn't be surprised if they slide Ty back into a WR role, leaving it as a 2 back committee.

everyone keeps saying this and I dont understand why, especially when McCarthy has come out and says Ty is a RB.

I can see them running more routes with him out of the backfield, or motioning to the slot, but he wont be functioning as a wr. he hasn't practiced there or been to wr meetings in 2 years.

Ya, I recall McCarthy saying this a few years back also.  I dunno, just seems like a pretty dire situation right now for the WR corp, potential for the starting 3 wideouts to be out.  Desperate times call for desperate measures, although you are probably right.

He hasn’t practiced as a WR in years so that seems unlikely - he may line up split out-wide a few times but he’s still likely to catch most of his passes out of the backfield.

oh didn't realize that

Fire up J'Mon!

If all three of those guys are out, Montgomery makes a great flex play.  I don't care what position he's playing.

Yesterday 22 touches for Packers RBs, split 9/8/5.

Previous week had 30 touches for Packers RBs, split 12/11/7.
Unbelievable.  What a mess.  I know I don't know anything about anything and I'm not a coach, but I still think all of these coaches are idiots.  You can't tell me that it makes any sense or is best for the team to split touches like that.  Anyone who's ever played sports knows how important it is to get a feel for the game and to get into a rhythm.

It's only a mess from a FF perspective.  On the field the 3 of them have been productive (over 150 total yards in 3 straight games) and they've all stayed healthy which has been a problem for each at times.

My point is that I think they would be more productive if given more reps (except maybe for Williams).  This is how they've been able to devalue the position.  I don't think decreased performance is worth the health aspect, especially if you think they're all equal.  Ride a guy until he gets hurt then move to the next one.

Was really hoping for the breakout here. Nope. Game script didn't help.

McCarthy has to win. Gotta think things get hot in GB this week after this loss. Juicy matchup against SF too.

Jones had the perfect game script last week, and got the same share.

Seems like you expect McCarthy will suddenly use his RBs fundamentally differently than he has for many years.  Why?
