I like him this year, he's got that Jamaal Charles quick twitch muscle fiber going and is only 27. He should eat this year, great early round pick.
I love seeing this as Kamara was my first round draft pick.
I've got the same concern. I didn't watch the game either. Can anyone explain what happened exactly.Didn’t get to see any of the game, but disappointed in his usage. He is usually game script-proof due to his usage in the passing game but not much there today either. Bunch of carries for Hill. Only week 1 but sort of worrisome…..
Alvin Kamara rushed nine times for 39 yards in the Saints' Week 1 win over the Falcons, adding three receptions for seven additional yards.
It was more of a pre-2021 statline for Kamara, except for the fact that his receiving production was underwhelming. Kamara's nine carries led the team, but he was out-gained 81-39 by Taysom Hill on the ground. That's a fluke, of course. The reduced work will probably remain going forward but should hopefully be good for Kamara's efficiency after a troubled '21 where he was asked to do too much for a weapons-bereft offense. Kamara should usually be in the 15-18 touch range with plenty of high-value handles. He remains a recommended RB1 even for Week 2 against the Bucs' strong run defense.

You'd be selling lowWould like to trade him but not sure for who. D Montgomery and a TE maybe?

I love Kamara's talent but his use and the offense last year was a mess and I didn't understand why that would magically change this year. He will certainly get better but to compare him to the Brees days or think he was going to get close to that was a stretch. This will be an interesting situation to watch for sure.
I think we can both agree that he benefited tremendously from Brees and the system.I love Kamara's talent but his use and the offense last year was a mess and I didn't understand why that would magically change this year. I'm kind of the opposite as an owner. I think he is not all that talented but benefited tremendously from brees and the system. I had the opportunity to trade him last year and wish i took it

If you want to move Kamara I don't think this is the week to be fishing for offers.

His value ain’t getting any higher when they play the Bucs run D next week.
This could be as well high as it gets
Sure, but that's been one of the things that's made Kamara so valuable - that regardless of game-script or situation, he's the centerpiece of the offense. The three receptions for 7 yards are a huge dagger right now. Think Jameis was in F IT MODE and launched the ball downfield to success yesterday. The Saints were down big.
Saints defense needs to step up in a big way and keep games neutral to not too far behind.

I has disappoint.
That should have been a BOOM game. Instead it was solidly meh.
What gives?
Yeah, just read he was battling a rib injury. That can be devastating to a RB production.Reported rib injury may have played a role
It also would have been useful information to have for us fantasy owners before the game. At least now I know. With a tough Bucs match up this week and a decent option (AJ Dillon) I can put Kamara on the bench for this week.Yeah, just read he was battling a rib injury. Dwain McFarland @DwainMcFarland
Alvin Kamara was on the field for 62% of the Saints' plays against the Falcons in Week 1.
However, he was only in a route on 45% of the team's dropbacks -- well below his usual numbers. Target share was still solid (13%) but 0.37 YPRR.
Took 53% of rushing attempts. Meh Week 1.
Yes?Are we starting him with confidence this week?

There is an art to talent evaluation as well as a subjective component so I'm always open to exploring contrarian opinions. But in many decades of playing fantasy football this Kamara is "not that talented" take is one of the most divergent and head scratching I can remember.
When you watch Kamara's tape you don't think his acceleration, contact balance, and versatility in the passing game are special? I would argue that he's wildly talented.
Starting but not with full confidence. He should provide at least 10 plus points in half PPR.Are we starting him with confidence this week?
Yeah his athleticism and balance is off the charts. If anything, he helped give Brees a longer career.I’m amazed that I’ve seen multiple people lately questioning his talent. I question if they even watch football.
Alvin Kamara (ribs) did not participate in Thursday's practice.
It's a downgrade from Wednesday, when he was limited. Kamara is likely a true questionable at this point for Week 2's game against Tampa Bay. Friday's practice report will tell us more of the story, but the injury perhaps is a little more serious than we thought it was after Wednesday.

yesAnybody worried?
yup looking at Wilson, Burkhead, or StevensonHaven’t seen the Friday practice report yet, but In the four wins against bucs in the TB era, Kamara averaging only 2.6 yd per rush with 3 TD and 22 yd/game receiving with 1 TD.
Thinking about rolling with Edmonds-Etienne-Wilson.
Alvin Kamara (ribs) is practicing Wednesday.
After missing Week 2 with a ribs issue suffered in Week 1, Kamara looks on track to play against the Panthers this Sunday. Mark Ingram and Tony Jones split work in his absence against the Bucs.
