RB Alvin Kamara, NO (1 Viewer)

ProFootballTalk's Mike Florio reports the Eagles are not interested in trading for Alvin Kamara before the NFL's November 1 trade deadline.

Social media rumors about Kamara and the Eagles have swirled for the past couple days. Florio cited a source "with knowledge of the situation" who said the Eagles aren't interested in acquiring the 27-year-old Kamara before the trade deadline. "It’s unclear how or why this rumor emerged," Florio said. "It’s possible that Kamara’s camp was looking for a way to get the word out that the player is in play, in the hopes that he can move (as James Robinson and Christian McCaffrey did recently) from a losing team to a potential contender." Kamara, who has come on as a fantasy force with Andy Dalton under center, is stuck with the dead-end Saints for now. Kamara is second among all running backs in expected fantasy points since Week 5.

Little worried about his usage this week. Any number of teams could trade for him right now or if there are more injuries this week

For as bad as NO has been, the NFC South is trash and they are a game out. Saints coaches and management would have to be as dumb as they seem reducing his usage in a winnable game with the division up for grabs. But seeing as how they run Ingram out there in key scoring situations just to be stuffed, nothing would surprise me.

I don't think he gets moved either
For whatever reason this NFL season seems like Madden with the rumors of trades. Typically there aren't many trades but the rumors are flying this year like half the teams are willing to say goodbye to their stars

To be fair it's been pretty active already and in general I think based on trades that did happen and might happen their is a lot of justification for so many trade rumors this year.

My theory is we saw the league get significantly more trade heavy a few years ago when a batch of new GM's started getting hired. I theorize that in-season trading hit a bit of a stumbling block the last few years due in large part to the reduced salary cap from COVID. So my expectation, which again we've seen so far to not exactly a bold prediction, is that we will end up seeing a signfiicantly larger amount of in-season trades this year then we've are used to seeing.

McVay and Shanahan started and extended the trend of being more loosie goosy with draft picks to acquire proven studs, which I think filtered across the league in at least small waves - that untying of the draft purses in recent years ignited a trading fire that is now a bit self-sustaining as coaches (like McVay) arms race with others (like Shanahan). As someone who loves trades in fantasy football, I love seeing them in real football.

More trades since they moved the trade deadline back a couple weeks. Used to be week 6 I think

FOX's Jay Glazer reports the Bills called the Saints about trading for Alvin Kamara.

Glazer noted that the Bills' offer was rejected. A previous report said from NewOrleans.Football's Nick Underhill said the Saints aren't shopping Kamara. They may not be actively looking to move him, but a strong offer from Buffalo could change their mind. Buffalo has been linked to multiple running backs via trade. It will clearly take a lot to pry Kamara away from New Orleans, though the Bills may see themselves as an elite running back away from a Super Bowl title. For now, Devin Singletary remains a workhorse back on the league's best offense.

Alvin Kamara rushed 18 times for 62 yards and one touchdown in the Saints' Week 8 win over the Raiders, adding nine catches for 96 yards and two touchdowns on 10 targets.

Kamara entered Week 8 with zero touchdowns but was way past due for a big box score, and he found it in this one, accounting for all three of New Orleans' touchdowns in the shutout win. His first touchdown of the year came from three yards out on the ground in the first quarter, and Kamara then caught 16- and 36-yard scores from Andy Dalton in the second and third frames. Things could've been even better if the Raiders were even competitive. But Kamara's workload and playing time had been pointing toward a big game sooner than later. Kamara is a cinch RB1 and gets a Week 9 home date with the Ravens.

There was a bunch of chatter on Twitter about him getting traded.

By a bunch of people with zero credibility. Closest I saw was Breer said he spoke to an NFL GM that thought the Saints might move him if Philly would give them back their 1st round pick they had traded them. That's not a real trade rumor, that's some GM musing over his 3rd scotch at Capital Grille.

I will be extremely surprised if he gets a heavy suspension based upon that video. Tough to really see Kamara, and the guy curb stomping him is the one that turned this into more than just a scrap.

If he hasn’t been suspended at this point, I doubt a TMZ video will result in one. Maybe something will happen in the offseason.

Video of his altercation.

Maybe some superperceiver of video could get more out of that than myself, but I see almost literally nothing being done by Kamara.
Same here. Also looked like people were trying to jump over each other to ship that guy.
Was one guy standing on him??

It looks like he threw a punch then sort of gets pushed forward and falls to the floor himself. By the time he gets up, he's being intercepted and partially held back. Someone is laying the boots to that guy but it doesn't look to be Kamara.

Alvin Kamara rushed nine times for 30 yards in the Saints' Week 9 loss to the Ravens.

He added three catches for 32 yards on four targets in the pass game. It's a far cry from his Week 8 where Kamara got the touchdown monkey off his back with three scores spanning 27 touches. He'd averaged 24.75 touches per game in his previous four, so it was a particularly down day for Kamara and the entire offense. Kamara will look to try to get right again next week in a road date with the lowly Steelers.

The judge in Alvin Kamara's court case has continued the negotiations hearing for 60 days.

The next date for Kamara's case is set for January 23, 2023. Kamara was arrested the weekend of the Pro Bowl for allegedly assaulting a man while in Las Vegas for the event. The case has been pushed back multiple times and will not have any impact on Kamara's ability to play in the remainder of the 2022 season. A trial date has been set for March 1, 2023.

Alvin Kamara had 12 rushes for 42 yards in New Orleans' Week 11 win over Los Angeles, adding four receptions for 47 yards on five targets.

Outrushed by Taysom Hill, Kamara saw just two red zone touches and zero targets, none of which happened on goal-to-go. The opportunity was there for more, but the Saints got sacked out of a few red zone looks and the ball did not go Kamara's way. He'll be a borderline RB1 in a tough matchup against the 49ers, particularly if the Saints can't get any of their better offensive linemen back.

Kamara gets Q tag with illness.

One of these 4 must sit - Etienne, Stevenson, Kamara, or Wilson, Jr? Perhaps the Q tag along with T Hill in at TE might be the call.

Fantasy Football Bust Candidates: Alvin Kamara leads Week 12's potential disappointments

Excerpt:

Alvin Kamara @ San Francisco 49ers

Kamara has averaged just 12.0 touches over the last three games, including zero opportunities inside the 10-yard line. He’s yet to score a touchdown on the road this season. Now, he’ll travel to San Francisco to face a 49ers defense allowing the second-fewest fantasy points to running backs this season. They haven’t let a running back reach 60 rushing yards (or 50+ receiving yards) in a game this season. SF has also ceded an NFL-low 3.4 YPC — the next lowest is 3.8. It helps explain why 49ers opponents have an NFL-high 70.5 percent pass rate in Levi’s Stadium this year.

New Orleans is dealing with multiple injuries along its offensive line, while San Francisco’s defense is yielding the second-fewest yards per play this season (and just 4.2 YPP over the last three weeks). You’re not benching Kamara, but he’s not a strong DFS play this week and another finish outside the top-20 RBs is likely in store.

Alvin Kamara rushed 12 times for 26 yards in the Saints' Week 13 loss to the Buccaneers, adding two receptions for 11 yards on three targets.

What's more, Kamara ceded 12 touches to backup running back Mark Ingram, who the team even kept in the game after he appeared to tweak his injured knee. Kamara simply found no room to maneuver against the stout defensive front of the Bucs, managing only five yards as his longest rush on the night. Fantasy managers that took the plunge on Kamara in the third round of drafts in August have to be left scratching their heads.

The Saints put Mark Ingram on IR today with a torn MCL. My initial reaction?

1) This should be good news for Kamara

2) How bad are things for Kamara if the Saints were playing Ingram with a torn MCL ahead of him on MNF?

He's got me confused this year. I remember a few years ago his 6 TD game won me a championship. Now I'm just happy if I get 6 PPR points from him

If there's any bright side to ROS for Kamara, it's that they've just come off a stretch of tough defensive matchups ever since his blowup game against the Raiders and now have run-friendly matchups ATL and CLE after a bye. It's brutal to see his snap% drop four straight games in a row along with terrible scheme for his skillset. If Saints had their own 1st we could blame it on intentional tanking. I won't know what to do in the first round of playoffs on two squads where he is my clear RB1. Would be really hard to sit him against ATL after a week off for the team to (hopefully) regroup and get their shyte together.

I read this other day and thought I'd post it for those you on the fence about starting him. You can call this coachspeak and if true be highly critical of it being to little to late but I'm just about going forward and this combined with Ingram's injury has greatly increased my confidence in starting Ak.

Dennis Allen said they've talked about finding more ways to use Alvin Kamara and "allow him to be the playmaker he's been for (them) in the past."
