RB Alvin Kamara, NO (5 Viewers)

I can see why teams would values his toughness, leadership and 3 down skill set. I’m not sure teams struggling to run the ball would view him as some kind of answer or as much of an offensive weapon.
Perhaps more importantly, would a suitor want to take on his contract for that diminishing skill set.
If a team viewed him as a rental and someone they’d cut after the season I never viewed the money as a huge issue, it’s basically $3m on next years books and his proration this year, roughly around $4.5m depending on what week he was traded.

TBH if I had a top 3 players I’d like to see traded list before yesterday, and I did, he was on it. That was as much for him as it was to give Kendre a shot as the main guy. Selfishly would have been overjoyed on teams I own both to see them turn into 2 starting RB’s, instead of one meh. Now with Kendre down I’d just as well he remained. Lost all my appetite to see him traded, at least for fantasy, would still enjoy seeing Kamara on a good team in real life to end his career.

Obviously, I'm a disgruntled Kamara owner. My question is how has he not had any typical receiving stats at all in any game all year?

You'd think with below average QBs, there'd be check downs and screens. He's never been a rusher. They're usually behind and the game script is pass heavy. Yet he'll end up with 2 catches for 14 yds. What is wrong in NO?

Maybe he’s old and washed?

Simple answer is prob mostly new OC and new QB that don't seem to use checkdowns. Someone else may have a more detailed response.

ETA: prob also a bit of being old and washed too.

Posted about this in the off-season. Kellen Moore's offense generally produce career low passing game usage from his RB's.

Losing Kendre actually might have made it worse as they apparently like Neal's pass pro more then Kendre's and when he's the #2 RB it's even less passing downs for Kamara.

Tough to drop because he's still a starting RB and that alone has some value with volume. Just a matter of what your roster composition is and whether you can get by with him scoring just a handful of points.

I do hope that they start to give the rookie Neal more run down the stretch - the team is obviously cooked like Kamara himself and needs to see what they have for the future.

I tried unloading him all week in dynasty. No bites at all. I went as low as a late 3rd rounder to the first place team who needs some depth and was getting crushed with bye and he said he'd rather keep the pick.

Kamara is helping with the tank job though.

Old, slow in a bad offense in a poor offensive fit for what he does and he does not seem to care about any of it, just cashing checks and trying to protect his legacy/future earnings.

future earnings? That ship has sailed for the most part I would think.
Off the field endorsement and the way his contract is structured with the Saints cap situation I think he is most likely to return next season for more pay then he’d see anywhere else.

Well, if he does that, I would think it doesn't do anything for that legacy you talked about.

Thanks, you are not understanding my point then about his legacy to the Saints and the community and what that might offer him post-career.

Probably true with regards to the Saints and possible post career offers. I just remember a lot of players that played longer than they should have. I hope Kamara doesn't end up as one in a long line of players that do that.
