RB Audric Estime, DEN (1 Viewer)

I still can’t get that 4.71 40 time at the combine out of my head.
He may replace Samaje Perine because he's cheaper. Estime is a power back, but he has some athleticism. 58% in the 10-yard dash, 87% in the vertical at 38", impressive for a guy who's 5'11" and 220 lbs. If Javonte Williams doesn't return to his early form, Estime could get some early down and short-yardage action.

On video, you see alot of power and 2nd effort. And some speed on this 80 yard run with the help of a Joe Alt block.

Was he hungover during the combine when he ran the 40? Bad is one thing, but 4.71 is ridiculously bad for a RB.

He really shouldn't have ran at the combine if they thought that was a possibility, lol. I really hope he fired his agent. I thought his tape looked fine, but most players don't look "slow" in college so I get why I didn't pick up on that. There was that Redskins RB from a few years ago that was a big, slow, tubby dude that ended up being fantasy relevant.

What was his name again?

Probably Stephen Davis.

IT was Alfred Morris. Had a 4.7 something 40 time but was a very good player for several seasons. So is there anything to look at with Estime in a redraft/bestball or is he a dynasty stash only?

Funnily enough, I was actually thinking of Rob Kelley. I actually put in the string "fat redskins running back" into Google and he was the first response. I'm sure he probably loves that. Go ahead, check it out for yourself:

Alfred Morris and Stephen Davis are both great answers too, not sure what the deal is with that franchise in particular having success with those types of players. The internet tells me that Rob Kelley ran a 4.62 40-yard dash. It at the least, gives some hope to the fact that Audric Estime could amount to something in this league. There's at least some precedent to guys running in the 4.6 - 4.7 range that saw some tread in the league.

I hope you didn't bench him. Nevah do that.

Wut? Just guessing who he was talking about.

Yeah, Alfred Morris. More recently, Kyren ran an unofficial 4.72 and official 4.65 at the combine. He seems like an OK RB.

He was always getting Jerome Bettis comparisons while at ND. He does a good job reading and setting up blocks between the tackles.

Is he a threat to leap frog Williams in 2024?
My bet is Javonte was being played by HC Sean Payton to get the most out of his RB. I see a full platoon RB carousel in Denver with situational roles
But who knows and where did the early rumors of JW being roster bubble?
Not sure about leapfrog, but ND seems to be preparing these guys to be decent to good RBs at the NFL level. I would take a late round flier on Estime if I could only have one piece of this RB room at cost.

I have too many shares but yeah at cost he is the Denver RB I want. Not really expecting much if anything but the kind of situation I like to throw darts at. Sean Peyton offense / Javonte Williams might be broken (that was what I was thinking earlier in the offseason when I was taking lots of Estime in like the 19th) / McGloughlin is more like the 3rd down receiving COP SCAT whatever but Estime is the one that has the profile to get lots of work if Javonte goes down. Or so went my thinking.

Oof he looks really slow to me tonight. Announcer seems convinced he makes the team but Perine looks a million times better (and probably is). Calling my shot he ends up on practice squad.

I was all over Williams at a discount in the spring. Due to all the insider hype which i should have known was click bait I'm now stuck with this guy in several leagues as a just in case pick.

Lot of hype - talk of cutting Javonte at one point, then rookie fever hit in FF circles.

Lot of the RB in this class are kinda :oldunsure:

Has anyone heard any news on when he comes back? This week he should be eligible to open his window I think.

Enough of a reason to set McLaughlin free in dynasty? Losing team that should probably still be starting a kicker this early in the season.

I set McLaughlin free a few weeks ago. He has little to no trade value and the floor is the ceiling apparently. I want nothing to do with Sean Payton offenses- too cute and too unpredictable

Yes, his days are numbered even with Estime not factoring in Sunday. You can count on a complete power outage from the entire offense every third game where nobody eats.
