Bijan wasn’t amazing today but suffice it to say Allgeier did not pass the eye test.
Doesn't matter. ATL clearly does not view Bijan Robinson as their starter, feature back, RB1, whatever tag you want to call him. He didn't even start the 2nd half. He didn't start the game-tying drive. He didn't start the game-winning drive in OT.
Bust
Yeah clearly the guy who had 9 touches and 12 yards rushing is the RB1
Again... it doesn't f****** matter... this a rinse and repeat situation. We will have this exact same conversation every week because ATL either does not think he's all that, or they don't think he can handle the load.
By the way, I greatly exaggerated his ranking. Even with the points he got tonight, Bijan is still in the RB20-25 window.
That’s not what you said though. You said Bijan is not the RB1, when the numbers clearly indicate otherwise. Has Bijan been a fantasy disappointment? Absolutely. As I said earlier, rich man’s Jerome Ford, a guy who isn’t winning anyone their matchup with how he’s played. But he’s out-touched Allgeier in every game so far and is still clearly RB1 of his team, for what that’s worth. The Falcons are just more pass-heavy than they’ve been in recent years.
How “rich” is this man you speak of?
I could put it that way, or I could say Jerome Ford is “store-brand Bijan Robinson” and get the same point across. Bijan is more efficient and has more volume but not nearly enough for return on investment.
One TD in five games played so far, that’s a lot of empty calories for a player who is currently on a 17-game pace for below 1,000 yards rushing. That’s also while being on pace for just 289 touches. That seems to be the trend with RB’s in general though. Christian McCaffrey led the league last year with 339 touches in 16 games, but that number was also the lowest for any single-season league leader since the strike-shortened 1982 season. So if RB’s like Bijan are going to be used more economically we’re going to need to see some trips into the end zone to make up for it or there won’t be enough fantasy points for return on investment.
Signed,
One really bummed out Bijan dynasty owner
