Feels to me like he's a much better real life rb than fantasy. The type for an offense to rely on for a 3rd and 5 nearly every time, if they choose consecutive runs. Yet there's only a small chance he's 'special', which puts him at risk to be replaced if Washington were to pounce on a rb in the draft ever.
Maybe a sell high even. You think he could fetch a 1st? Maybe give it another couple 17 carry games.

as long as dopey riverboat ron rivera is the head coach and sneaky danny snyder is the owner, this team and franchise is a dumpster fire of epic proportions.Even the Pope Joe Gibbs couldn't help out. this league should absorb the team, roll with 31 franchises, and never let the commies see the light of day again. or better still, let it be the first int'l team in nfl history. get it out of the swamp of DC and send it to london or munich or mexico city. brand new beginning, the filth of the past 25 years erased.

You're dam right Joe Gibbs couldn't save the Washington team of football. Their offensive line is terrible. And nobody's going make it today's NFL by running 60% of the time.

So is no one talking about the obvious? Washington's play calling was extremely vanilla/predictable on TNF. Robinson in, run. Gibson/JD in, pass. It wasn't until they went into hurry up with Gibson in there with a nice mix of both that they were able to move the ball. Carson is better in those circumstances, always has been. Washington should run a whole lot more hurry up and run/pass option if they want Wentz to succeed. Stop trying to fit a round block in a square hole if you really want to win, it will help put the defense on its heels which will also improve offensive line play.
Gibson is who he is, I've seen enough of him. That's not to say he can't be a quality NFL RB, but he's proven himself to be less than durable and not really a game changer anymore.

Robinson is just getting started and I have no idea what he'll do in the future, but as a rookie, in only his second real game action on a short week, to my eye I thought he looked pretty dang good running the ball. He needs to get comfortable, and likely needs to clean up his pass pro. to stay on the field though. On the 2 pt conversion attempt he allowed Wentz to be pressured. We'll see what happens but it's nauseating watching Gibson owners argue with Robinson owners. Give the kid a chance, see where it goes. I'll be trying to acquire him if the price is right.

The answer to your question seems obvious: Gibson by a mile. Weirdly, it took Robinson's return for the 'manders to start using him in the passing game.
The more vexing question for me, as someone with BRob but not Gibson, is whether the former is startable going forward. He is still getting two-down work, and seems to be the goal-line guy, but Gibson has looked way better, and you have to wonder if he'll retake his starting job if this continues.
I dropped Robinson after last week, he looked pedestrian running the ball and they did not throw the ball to him.
He will be TD dependent to worth anything on a weekly basis and this offense does not score much and it is with it's WR usually

Robinson led in snaps the previous two weeks.
Without a shadow of a doubt Gibson, he checks all the boxes of the preferred RB in a RBBC. Which is to say the one that catches more passes, can create explosive plays and in general does not need a ton of rushing volume to carve out a good fantasy day.
I cut Robinson two weeks ago in a FFPC Football guys tourney league. I think that contest has about 14,000 teams and I was the only person to cut him. I had to clear a spot that week and it was down to Latavius or Robinson and I chose to keep Latavius. Both pretty low upside but the bye weeks worked better for me keeping Latavius and I also figured if I exposed Robinson to waivers someone would go nuts with their bidding. Since I'm sitting on most of my $1,000 FAAB this was my hope and sure enough someone went over $500 for him. Success!!!
Robinson is a great story to get over the shooting so quick but to my eye he looks like a Peyton Barber level talent.

It's been an eye awakening, jaw dropping consensus reversal in what's going on in WAS. Keep everything kind of just like it is. Gibson flourishes, Robinson flounders the way it's coming to light. I picked up Gibson for free FA and just sat him. Pleasant freebee.

Sad...my two depth RBs that I thought would look good down the stretch may be drops for bye and injury coverage (Robinson and Henderson) Maybe its because they are both Jrs.

He absorbs a lot of touches, can tell he runs hard but I agree that there is no burst or speed factor there when a hole opens up.

Yes. He has some good qualities as well. I'm not saying he doesn't belong in the NFL as he's a powerful runner that can punish a defense. I just don't think he's cut out to be a feature back at this level but could be a solid red-zone runner and not a bad guy to use to run out the clock. I just don't get why he gets so much volume over Gibson, who looks like a much better offensive weapon.

I’ve been hard on Gibson. But he’s looked pretty good the last few games. Robinson is still the more polished runner. Keeps his legs churning. Hits the holes harder. Can run when D knows a run is coming. Gibsons needs space. They are a good 1-2 punch considering the OL really isn’t that good.

Robinson missed the final game of last season with an unspecified knee injury. At the time, it just looked like the team was giving him the week off from a meaningless game.
CBS Sportline, today, has a red "medical" icon next to Robinson's name and a blurb that he is "questionable for the start of training camp". Googling revealed nothing about a setback or anything at all about a lingering knee injury. Is CBS full of bull, or is Robinson in worse shape than is being talked about?

I don't know. They did not draft a RB so that's a great sign.
However....
I listen to Michael Lombardi's podcast a lot and he's a blowhard and I have to lay into the 30 second button a decent amount. But I endure it mainly because he does have connections and will sometimes throw out good info.
Anyway a week or so ago said that Washington's backfield was a bigger weakness then people realized and then he started hinting at a possible Derrick Henry trade. He might have been just spitballing and making stuff up on the Henry trade, but the part about the RB situation being weaker then people realized got my attention a little as it's not what I perceived as a weakness. Not a strength but solid enough.

We did actually take a RB, Chris Rodriguez out of Kentucky, but not until the 6th round. Good size, looks good on tape, makes for a nice target in later rounds for rookie drafts. They like Brian Robinson plenty but he’s just a boring two down grinder. Gibson fell out of favor with his inability to secure the football and McKissic’s career is pretty much over due to his neck, so there’s a path to touches right away. Check him out, he’s a good dart.

As a UK fan I know a lot about Chris Rodriguez. While he may not have elite athletic skills, he ALWAYS gains yards. He is a strong runner and breaks tackles. He's the perfect backup IMO and those who own Robinson should handcuff him with Rodriguez.

It’s hard to get too excited about anybody taken in the 6th round but I do like what I see from him. He just looks like a professional running back to me. Bet he sticks in the league awhile and if he does he’s going to have value at some point.

2 roster spots on low projected ceilings?
I get it JU, you're not incorrect but I would rather just throw the dart late in the draft if I want a piece of the Washington team.
In my redrafts, I might be able to carry 4-5 RBs, cannot see filling up a handcuff to a RB that likely won't be projected Top 20 in Brian Robinson is all I'm saying.

Of course leagues are different, so it makes sense in some and not in others. I really didn't mean that as a blanket handcuff and don't always specify, "depending on the league" in my posts.

I think people may be overvaluing Robinson in general. His story makes him a guy you can't not root for, but did he really distinguish himself last year on the field beyond taking over for an out-of-favor Gibson? Perhaps he's got a stranglehold on the job now, but it wouldn't surprise me at all if Gonzalez, with a strong camp, became serious competition. Or even Gibson if he slides back into favor.

Robinson did catch 35 balls in 14 games as a Bama senior. He'll never be a satellite-back type, but he can perhaps at least learn to hold his own on some third-down work?
Maybe he can improve the skill as necessary. Another Alabama back for comparison: Mark Ingram only caught 23 balls (in 37 games) over his first three seasons with the Saints, 2011-13, with a catch rate in the low 60s%. The next season Ingram caught 29 in 13 games, catch rate at 80.6%. The next three seasons after that, he went for 154 receptions in 44 games, with an aggregate catch rate around 81%.
Disagree. They haven't really added anyone and they force fed him the ball after being shot. Still think they give him a ton of carries and GL work.

I agree he’s equipped to carry a heavy load - I just wonder about the efficiency and his use in the passing game to the extent that it will be another frustrating RBBC.

Robinson is a JAG. He’s a decent power back but lacks any agility or explosiveness to be the guy to carry the load. The one thing in his favor is Rivera’s old school mentality. He may not mind three yards and a cloud of dust on offernse. Gibson was clearly the better back but Rivera seemed to prefer a slog on offense.

Don't forget Chris Rodriguez out of Kentucky. He's likely to factor in somewhere along the way.
