RB Chase Brown, CIN (1 Viewer)

Sell "high"
No, Sir. Here are the teams he's faced in his first 7 weeks:
CLE - #1 vs the run
GB - #4 vs the run
DEN - #8 vs the run
DET - #11 vs the run
JAC - #14 vs the run
PIT - #15 vs the run
MIN - #23 vs the run
6 out of 7 games vs the top half

Here are his next 9 weeks:
NYJ - #18 vs the run
CHI - #31 vs the run
bye
PIT - #15 vs the run
NE - #3 vs the run
BAL - #21 vs the run
BUF - #32 vs the run
BAL - #21 vs the run
MIA - #30 vs the run
ARI - #16 vs the run
3 out of 9 games vs the top half

If you've held this long, why sell now? And how much did he actually appreciate in a single game with only 11 carries?
You nailed it he has been great since the schedule eased up

Adding to my frustration above, Perine even lost a fumble but ended the night with 13 carries. That's insane. The eye test and stat sheet should in no way allow Perine to take touches away from Brown who is lightyears better.

Can’t teach hands.
Its one of the easier things to teach. Davante Adams couldn't catch a cold once upon a time.

Isn’t this also when they got a competent QB in Flacco as well? Maybe a decent QB is opening up some opportunities for him.

Perine must have compromising pictures of Zac Taylor with farm animals.

Brown had 22 touches. He isn't losing touches to anybody. Bengals don't have a 3rd RB to get carries.

Brown had 15 carries, Perine had 14. Almost a 50/50 split running the ball.

Perine is absolutely eating into his carries.

I think teams often distribute touches a little more evenly when playing on a short week. I don’t have the data to back that up, but I have learned to temper expectation for my RBs when they are playing on short rest.

That said, it was frustrating to see Perine with as many carries as he had, especially in the red zone. At least they were splitting work down there, not like Perine is the dedicated red zone/goal line back.

I expect we will see brown maintain a 70/30 or 80/20 split of the touches next week.
