He doesn’t normally break long runs.

I’d say last night minus the 50+ run where he got tuckered out and slid (1st time I’ve ever seen a RB do that) will be closer to a normal week.

Last year he was in select company of just a few RBs with over 100 carries, and none over 20 yards. But, he has averaged about 4.3 ypc due to 1) Mahomes 2) he may have good vision.

Credit where due, he’s looked more patient this year. It’s an underrated attribute for RBs.

I don’t know if flip is the right word but I definitely think CEH sees more touches ahead. He was out of the game the majority of a quarter after he got his knee stepped on. The Chiefs only ran 54 plays compared to 74 by the Chargers. He out touched McKinnon 12 to 6. If the Chiefs ran 74 plays, that brings him to 16 touches and add in the missed time from the knee and it’s closer to 20. When the game is on the line, he’s the one they trust the most. I think 15-17 touches are more likely in the weeks ahead. I’ll take that on a great Chiefs offense with high touchdown upside compared to many other options, especially where he got drafted.

Yes he was preventing a fumble. Yes he ran out of gas. Both of those things are 100% true.

How was it not obv his only concern was ball protection and to stay in bounds? That awareness doesn’t help fantasy teams. It does buy trust with your coach and teammates. Your boy Rojo might want to take notes.

A whole lot of hate in here still. CEH is doing just fine and is a steal so far. He’s a high end RB2 w RB1 upside if he stays healthy. Getting trampled on was scary. Holdddd

They just don't use him much. We've seen the touch numbers through two weeks. We saw the playoffs last year. He's a good player, but getting him the ball is not a priority for KC. He's just there to supplement Mahomes. Can't argue with results for KC, but also leaves you wondering how he'd perform with more volume. Feels like that's the only thing holding him back from being a real force in FF because the efficiency is solid and the versatility is there.

My prediction going into the season was that KC's passing offense would suffer big with the loss of Hill. Didn't happen in week one, but tonight they were not super efficient. Just 6.7 yards per attempt for Mahomes. Kelce kept relatively quiet. Will be something to monitor moving forward because if they can't reliably throw for high YPA then you may see more touches for Clyde, but the long-standing trend is that he's not the focus of the offense. That makes it scary to trot him out there as a regular weekly starter in FF.

A lead back getting 10-15 touches in that offense is worth something, no? I agree he needs more volume if we want to see a ceiling.

How was it not glaringly obvious to you that he ran out of gas? Both defenders caught up to him because he slowed way way down. He didn’t fight for any extra yardage, he didn’t take it to the house. If he had gas left in the tank, it woulda been a sure fire TD, because at one point he was 20’ ahead of his pursuers.

Kudos for covering up with both arms. Weird that he slid. 100% obvious that he could not keep running.

This is a fair take. So far he’s been a terrific value as a RB3/Flex.

The challenge is whether he can continue to put up those numbers with limited touches.

Whole lot of efficiency there that he’s never displayed for any extended period.

You're right. He did it twice. Once he just went down like a gunshot. Then, another time, Gurley got tackled on the way to not scoring when they were up seven with the two minute warning to go and DET (the team they were playing) having all of their timeouts left. People denounced that as well-meaning, but stupid. More Gurley fun trivia? He actually scored for the Falcons when he wasn't supposed to one game, and the other team came back to win. Matt Ryan and the coach had told him not to score, he did, and they lost.

We get it already. You would sell CEH. What are we expected to get back in return? Anyone receive any offers for CEH? Anyone trying to trade CEH, who are you targeting?

But there is no way I rely on any of the Chiefs running backs to be consistent. Andy Reid simply does not have it in his DNA to create a sustained output for the running back position. It's like he forgot about Westbrook and the different ways they used him.

Reid is drunk on Patrick Mahomes right now. And if I'm being honest, if he ever remembers he has a running back that he can use the Chiefs will win 3 more super bowls. His stubbornness in only passing is turning Mahomes into Aaron Rodgers.

All everyone talked about for a week was “how good will the chiefs be if they have a between the tackles rusher now?!” Then as the summer wore on, that narrative disintegrated.

And not just Jones. Gore seemed like a decent back for that. And Williams before him. They keep discarding players that have the 1 skill they continue to lack. It’s weird.

Technically they still have Jones, and maybe Pacheco fits that bill…sure would be nice to see them commit to the run.

It’s what drove Eagles fans crazy about him. He’s a very good HC but as a play caller there are times when it’s like he can’t see the forest for the trees.

When the Chiefs signed him they talked him up as a between the tackles guy, so I guess Reid rosters him in FF too.

That's tough to do, though Edwards-Helaire was able to save his day with a one-yard touchdown plunge and a 5/39 receiving line on five targets. CEH is a screaming sell-high candidate coming off three strong box scores to open the season, but anyone watching can tell he has very little playmaking ability. The Chiefs got rookie Isiah Pacheco three carries to CEH's two in the second half, for what it's worth. ESPN's Adam Teicher believes the Chiefs backfield "is going to be more of a committee thing" going forward.​

The Chiefs, per Teicher, "still don't seem comfortable using Clyde Edwards-Helaire in most third-down situations," instead using pass-catching specialist Jerick McKinnon, especially in the team's two-minute offense. McKinnon in Week 3 against the Colts ran more routes and equaled CEH with seven rushing attempts. After three games, it's McKinnon who leads the Kansas City backfield with a 28 percent snap share while Edwards-Helaire sits at 27 percent. CEH has skated by with four touchdowns through three weeks -- a pace that won't continue. There won't be much fantasy juice to squeeze out of the KC backfield unless CEH or McKinnon miss time. NBC Sports' Edge's Denny Carter recently recommended McKinnon as a waiver add in 12-team leagues.
