He's on my bench and I'll be thrilled to see him score two touchdowns from there. It's really hard to take a stab at how Tennessee is going to split the load between him and Murray. I'd rather see two TDs on my bench than a 5 for 19 in my lineup.Anyone flexing Henry this week? I have this feeling he balls out and scores 2 tds on everyone's bench. Mainly because we all want to see how it plays out first.
I'm starting him over Blount in a dynasty league I have him in because my RBs are thin, but I agree with taking a cautious approach and see how he is used. Doesn't seem like the best match-up either.Anyone flexing Henry this week? I have this feeling he balls out and scores 2 tds on everyone's bench. I was thinking this also...maybe because I got Murray but missed out on Henry (because I was stupid) but this seems vaguesly similar to Tevin Coleman vs Devonta Freeman last season. Lots of pre-season talk about Coleman and not a lot about Freeman. And we see what happened there. It just seems like the classic scenario is playing out with a veteran and a "hotshot" rookie
How did you let him slide to 6.1?!?Todem said:Target at 5.12 tonight in my draft
I might be playing him. I haven't done any research on Minny's D. With Zimmer I always assume very good D but someone said they weren't the best (run or pass?) and...I gotta look. I plan to start him against every tough D.Anyone flexing Henry this week? I have this feeling he balls out and scores 2 tds on everyone's bench. Lol at proven starterThis thread is nuts. Over-hyped rookie that's a backup to a proven starter. It will be funny in a couple months after several 8 carry, 30 yd games from him. He might be a great dynasty stash, but not going to get touches to be starter material barring a Murray injury.
In the end it just comes down to whether you believe in his talent or not. Murray is a solid starter, but I think Henry is much more talented. I'm not sure when it will happen, but I would bet heavily on Henry having the majority of the work come FF playoff time this year. Situations change very fast in the NFL.This thread is nuts. Situations do change very fast, for all the talk I've seen of the possibility of Murray getting hurt, Henry can get hurt just as easily as any other RB in the NFL, which would make him virtually useless this year and Murray's value skyrockets. In the end it just comes down to whether you believe in his talent or not. Aw, poor fella. What will happen now with a separate thread??? Boo hooUseless duplicate thread.
I just wanted to say the worst thing you can do when someone creates a redundant thread is to bump that thread. Nothing new or interesting said in the link above.
Flex? I loaded up on premium WRs and TE, and Derrick Henry is now my RB1 in redraft (which was RB22 in the overall draft).Anyone flexing Henry this week? I have this feeling he balls out and scores 2 tds on everyone's bench. Mainly because we all want to see how it plays out first.
So there is three, That makes it a trend. Fly high my friends.Remember in that Nintendo Ice Hockey game you played as a kid, when you had to choose to be either the skinny and weak but fast as greased lightnin’ guy, or the fat, strong, slow as an ox guy? You had to make a choice. You had to compromise.
- Derrick Henry
Derrick Henry doesn't compromise. He doesn't listen to reason. He's the most stubborn #######ed guy in the National Football League, and, laws of physics be damned, he's a gigantic strong man with blazing speed and a Heisman trophy in his back pocket. And he refuses to take no for an answer. He's bigger and stronger than someone that fast should ever be, and he's faster than anyone that big and strong has any business being. And unlike another running back in his draft class who the sharks all think is the better of the two, he won't prance around in half shirts at practice or off the field.
In a fantasy draft full of compromises and half shirts, stand up and say to all who can hear, “no, I refuse to compromise. I select Derrick Henry.” You owe it to yourself, gup. Take a stand.
Select him as the 40th back off the board, and end up with a legit, uncompromising RB2, now and for years to come.
Top 20 RB finish
I'll take the overI will just start indexing the Henry threads in here. Most recent hawk taki's.
Anyone want to set an over/under for the number of Henry threads this year?
I haven't watched but supposedly Henry looks better than Murray running the ball. You can see that Murray is doing all his damage in the passing game as opposed to racking up 100+ yards rushing. So haven't watched much of Titans nor see Henry highlights. How is he looking? Seems like he is getting slightly more than backup carries/catches but not even close to 50/50 as it's the DeMarco Show.
But could he be primed for breakout week vs the offensive Oakland defense?
Where does crap like this come from? Henry hasn't looked better than Murray. I can't recall if it was this thread where I posted that I have Murray in two off my three leagues (have Henry in 2 as well) and I think he's going to be one of the SODs. I saw posts about Henry taking over sooner rather than later because of preseason carries. I watched every snap of the Panthers vs. Titans in preseason. Henry got stuffed every time against our first D and then he had some nice runs against some guys who didn't make the team. I am not throwing shade on Henry, he could develop into a solid NFL RB, but he's a rookie and his preseason carries against backups got him a lot of good press, but it didn't tell the whole story.I haven't watched but supposedly Henry looks better than Murray running the ball. I was actually considering throwing him in there this week against Oakland and hope he gets his first TD. I'd rather wait and see but I'm not sure I can stomach messing with the Seattle backfield for another week.
, Murray will be a great pick after a horrible year in Philly.I have shares of both in a couple leagues. Generally speaking you are correct. That said, Henry has also had 2 runs called back that went more than 25 yards. His ypc looks a lot better if those plays hold up.Where does crap like this come from? By the way, real facts:
Murray: 25 carries, 131 yards, 5.2 ypc, 12 receptions, 91 yards, 2 TDs
Henry: 14 carries, 43 yards, 3.1 ypc, 3 receptions, 50 yards, 0 TDs
Since when does 3.1 ypc look better than 5.2 ypc. Murray has looked better than Henry in both games, period and he is getting a lot of love from Mariota in the passing game. That is what you need, because he only had 13-42 rushing against a solid Minny D (Henry was 5 carries for 3 yards), but against the Lions he was 12-89. In my PPR leagues Murray is RB4. If you picked up Henry hoping that he'd be the top RB on the team, you bought the wrong ticket for 2016. Henry will continue to get touches, but barring injuryknocksonwood

Yeah, from everything I've read Demarco is the man and is looking like a real steal. I'm just hopeful that they will run enough that Henry will have spot play value as RB2. And frankly if he is going to have any of that value it'll be in a week like this vs. a bad Oakland D.Where does crap like this come from? Henry hasn't looked better than Murray. Murray has been excellent where they need him, where the game is dictating that they use him. If he could get 20 yards on a catch, why bother with a 4 yard run?I haven't watched but supposedly Henry looks better than Murray running the ball. You can see that Murray is doing all his damage in the passing game as opposed to racking up 100+ yards rushing.
https://twitter.com/TLambertFB/status/775326791460413440?s=09In week one, he had a catch and run which was a bad play call as he had two guys on him, but he ran to the opposite field and made it work. It was more luck (or his skill) than a good play.
Like I said in the Sharpe thread after week one, you haven't seen the Titans O yet and week two was very different than week one.So haven't watched much of Titans nor see Henry highlights. How is he looking? Seems like he is getting slightly more than backup carries/catches but not even close to 50/50 as it's the DeMarco Show.
But could he be primed for breakout week vs the offensive Oakland defense?
That's fine. I don't disagree. Call it his skill. Like I said, he had two guys on him when he caught it. He had to make something out of nothing. They gotta set him up better than that. To be honest, I don't think it was a good decision by Mariota. It worked out, but why throw it to a RB double-covered? It worked, so I guess it was a fine decision, but...just one of those things.
I agree with this. But as a predictor of future success i am more interested in henry, who i think is one of the most talented backs in the nfl, making something out of nothing.Bri said:That's fine. I assume Kline can run some. You would know as a Pats fan. As underwhelming as Warmack has been his whole career, he is still arguably the most athletic G in football and it is obvious why he was a top 10 pick. Does Kline have the legs to get out in the run game like Warmack did? If he doesn't, they might need to adjust some by adding the FB or the ugh 3rd TE.
For purchase? No.Anyone have a Murray voodoo doll for purchase?
Matt Franciscovich says that Derrick Henry will break out Sunday.I think with the eay week 2 went across the league injury wise dhenry will get his turn....
Derrick Henry poised for a fantasy breakout in Week 3
... Murray has been inefficient thus far with his touches save for a 67-yard run in Week 2 which accounted for about half of his rushing yards for the season, so more playing time could be in the offing for the rookie. But until Henry becomes more than just a complement, his fantasy value will be capped.
That will all change this week when the Titans welcome the Raiders to Nissan Stadium in what will be Henry's breakout game.
Through the first two weeks of the season, the Raiders defense ranks dead last in the NFL in points per game allowed (34.5), total yards per game allowed (517.5), passing yards per game allowed (404) and yards per play allowed (8.02). That's nothing but good news for the Titans key offensive players, including Henry who had his play percentage increase from Week 1 to Week 2. Against the Vikings in Week 1, Henry was on the field for 31 percent of the Titans' snaps. In a closer game against Detroit in Week 2 that number jumped up to 46 percent. Atlanta running back Tevin Coleman produced 13 fantasy points against Oakland last week on a similar amount of playing time.
Henry is currently averaging 8.5 touches per game compared to Murray's 18. But the rookie doesn't need a ton of touches in order to produce. With the Raiders defense reeling, I can see a scenario where Henry breaks off a couple of long runs, makes some kind of incredible play in space on a reception and receives a goal-line carry for a score in Week 3. That adds up to a good fantasy flex play at worst in a week where the matchup simply couldn't get much better for the Titans backfield.
5.2ypc ineffective?Matt Franciscovich says that Derrick Henry will break out Sunday.
He makes the point that DeMarco Murray hasn't been effective and then shows the Raider defense is suspect against the run and feels Henry will make his move this week and take control of the backfield this week.

Murray has been inefficient thus far with his touches save for a 67-yard run in Week 2
The majority of Murray's rushing yardage came on a 67-yard run, as he managed just 2.0 yards per carry outside of that play5.2ypc ineffective?
Why do you think this is? I thought they had the makings of a pretty strong run blocking offensive line especially with the addition of the first round lineman. I haven't been watching nor do I won any of the Titan RBs but traded away Murray because I felt that Henry would eventually supplant him at some point this year.the entire Titans run game, Henry included, has been pretty ineffective outside of Murray's big run.
He mentions a lot of passing yardage then Henry. Rushing wise, they are in a middle group where 15-25 yards per game represent a major chunk of the NFL. (As such when stats are only two weeks in) Going off stats that's 112 yards divided between Henry and MurrayBracie Smathers said:Matt Franciscovich says that Derrick Henry will break out Sunday.
