Wow I dont think I would have dropped him yet. He is getting getting a decent amount of carries, goal line looks and seems to be running reasonably well. The problem in my opinion is the offense hasnt found their identity yet with Winston. I think he is going to have a big day vs the Panthers due to all of the injuries they are looking at on defense.#### it, I dropped him for Christine Michael. Can't be bothered waiting any longer for a better week, probably exacerbated by the fact that I have owned him at least for a while in each of the last two seasons as well.
Not suggesting that's what everyone should do but I have quite a few similar RBs - Anderson, Ivory, Foster, Hillman and K Williams so might as well take a chance on someone who COULD have a high ceiling if some coordinates fell into place.
did the same..sorry I drafred him#### it, I dropped him for Christine Michael. Can't be bothered waiting any longer for a better week, probably exacerbated by the fact that I have owned him at least for a while in each of the last two seasons as well.

Dropped Martin over Hillman or whoever the hell K Williams is?! And for CMike???#### it, I dropped him for Christine Michael. Can't be bothered waiting any longer for a better week, probably exacerbated by the fact that I have owned him at least for a while in each of the last two seasons as well.

Holding Hillman, since I have Anderson and I want to see how that shakes out. As others have pointed out the laugh may be on you if you are unfamiliar with Karlos Williams.Dropped Martin over Hillman or whoever the hell K Williams is?! This is why we need one-word nicknames whenever possible. You don't know who k Williams is?
I haven't started him, so I haven't fallen victim to this.Martin's season is going to be one where all of his owners get disgusted with his 50 yard/no touchdown games and finally put him on the bench (which is exactly where I am). Then, naturally, he will have 120 yards and a score on the bench. Thus, he will be thrown back into the starting lineup and reward us with 50 yards and no touchdowns. Lather, rinse, repeat.
Wow--seems odd that you post this after you and a few other members clowned me for saying the EXACT same thing from the very beginning. Not only did you trash this same opinion of mine earlier--you and a few other members went so far as to make personal attacks to where the Football Guys Moderators had to remove them for being completely out of line. I just find it funny that you now say the same thing about Martin as I did as if it is your own take. Honestly--I have no desire to make this an "I told you so" moment--but I do have a desire to make it a moment to remind members that there is no place for clowning another member or making personal attacks to another member for having a differing point of view. First of all--it's not polite nor is it professional--and secondly--there will be times where the predicitons of the person that you were clowning are right and you will be the one that looks like a clown. Now to Martin---I do see that other members have posted that they have dropped him--and I do want to say to be careful about doing that. If you play in a 10-12 team league---there will likely be an owner or two that will "bite" on him after he does have one of his big games. If you go back through and read my posts--I have always said Martin has some big games in him--it's owning him and trying to predict when those big games are that is mind numbing. This however does not mean that he carries no value to everybody and anybody. If you play in a league where the trading activity is even moderate--and if you have the roster space to keep him--I would say to do so until he has one of his big games. Many leagues will have an owner in them that will make the mistake of seeing his next big game as a sign that he's reverting back to his rookie year form--as opposed to realizing that his rookie season is looking more and more like an outlier. Basically what I'm saying is that the "value" that the fantasy community sees him having makes him rosterable (unless you have a small league or very short benches)---but not very easily startable.Martin's season is going to be one where all of his owners get disgusted with his 50 yard/no touchdown games and finally put him on the bench (which is exactly where I am). Then, naturally, he will have 120 yards and a score on the bench. Thus, he will be thrown back into the starting lineup and reward us with 50 yards and no touchdowns. Lather, rinse, repeat.
I think this is true except the part where he rushes for a lot of yards and scores TD's.Martin's season is going to be one where all of his owners get disgusted with his 50 yard/no touchdown games and finally put him on the bench (which is exactly where I am). Then, naturally, he will have 120 yards and a score on the bench. Thus, he will be thrown back into the starting lineup and reward us with 50 yards and no touchdowns. Lather, rinse, repeat.
You were trolling and being an ###. Plus, at the time, you were flat wrong. He was coming off of a 98 yard game where Winston audibled so he could get the touchdown himself from the one. You were also talking like Martin was a first or second rounder. Things changed last week. Simms started playing more and was the one catching the ball out of the backfield. And speaking of predictions, I'm quite sure that you aren't going to come in here and apologize when Martin has a good game. There are ways to represent yourself where you're not coming off as a know it all. You, unfortunately, aren't very well versed in that and you got called out for it. You are killing me with this but I appreciate the insight. No one is calling this or mentioning injuries to Carolina line as a factor so if he hits you are the man.Because of bye weeks and Alshon Jeffrey having legs that apparently are incapable of healing it's either Dougie or Matt Jones this week.I will post it again. I think if you have him you must start him this week against the Panthers. They are quite banged up on defense and I could see the Bucs just running down our throats. If Martin doesnt produce Sunday then it may be time to move on.
Unless Foster is a go, he's still in my lineup tomorrow. Albeit over Abdullah, Woodhead, and Mathews.I will post it again. I think if you have him you must start him this week against the Panthers. My opinions vary as I am fed more information. I was not about to call Martin a bust after a 98 yard game where he should have had a touchdown. Winston doesn't audible to himself there and Martin has 16 points and everyone is happy for getting that out of a guy who was RB24 chosen. Last week, there was a change. He was in on 31 snaps and Simms was in on 30. This is why I said he's going to give his owners fits by having average games, followed by the occasional big game. And knowing when to play him is going to give headaches.Read my posts---I would have zero reason to apologize if Martin has a big game as I have always said he has a few big games in him. In regards to me being wrong about him---that is once again incorrect. I have always said Martin is a talent--but needs everything to be absolutely PERFECT for him to have a big game. The situation in Tampa Bay has been as unpredictable this season as it has been the last two seasons. If you have a guy that needs everything to be perfect for him to thrive in a situation that has proven to be unstable--his production will also be unstable. That has been what I've always said--and you can invite yourself to go back through and read what I said. Read my posts and please copy and paste where I have ever evaluated him as a 1st or 2nd rounder this year.JuniorNB said:You were trolling and being an ###. Plus, at the time, you were flat wrong. I have zero desire to go back and forth with you--because you are a perfect example of what the Shark Pool has become filled with--self righteous, snarky, opinionated people that don't understand that a fantasy football opinion discussion should never get to a point of personal insults. You have zero problem crossing the lines of what kind of behavior is acceptable--and even when you are proven wrong--lack the humility to say "hey--maybe you weren't as wrong as I thought". I am not here to change the mind and behavior of you or any other member. I came here to post a take on Martin and other members can choose to accept or absorb those takes. In regards to the one acting like a "know it all"---that would be you--not me.
Martin is going to have a nice fantasy game sometime soon. I believe his talent is enough to shine through time to time--but all of the other moving parts in regards to his situation probably won't allow it to be a super dependable occurence. I would not be surprised if Martin has a big game this week (which is great for his owners)--but the real quandry is how his owners will react to his next big game. It will either fill them up with more hope---or it could be a sell high moment for others.Kenny Powers said:Unless Foster is a go, he's still in my lineup tomorrow. Sortof but not really. Charles Johnson is out, Luke is out and T Davis is banged up. That means we are starting backup at MLB and a rookie on the other side. Ealy is a second year end that has been average I would say so far. Not sure who the other DE that is starting today. Could be Allen but I doubt it. Star is just coming back from a foot injury and Short the other DT is good. Not much depth after that. Our safeties are subpar and outside of Norman the corners are subpar.Monk81 said:The Carolina defense has pretty good depth. Thomas Davis practiced fully the last two days. Black and Blue Review and Panthers. com both say Jared Allen is starting. I'm not sure how Star coming back is a bad thing.Sortof but not really. At some in the near future those injuries and lack of depth are going to catch up with the panthers and I think its today. Lovie has to be smart enough to see this and try and pound the Panthers to keep Cam off the field especially considering JW hasnt found his passing mojo yet.Monk81 said:The Carolina defense has pretty good depth. I could be totally wrong but I just have a feeling Martin is going to have a good game today.

He's averaging 5 a pop, he's looking startable againGlad he found the endzone and has 10+ carries in the 1st half. On the other hand, he has less than 35 rushing yards despite that.
I benched him at the last minute. I am not a smart man.hey hey heyThe General said:You are killing me with this but I appreciate the insight. this is one of those cases where the local homer gets a leg up on the supposed pros. After watching Martin run this year and watching the panthers and knowing their injuries I thought Martin would be a strong play this week.Bloom had him as a "what the heck flex" and had RBs like Ryan Mathews ranked higher.
Or a case where Bloom was wrong. Mathews in a 50/50 at best split over Martin? Doesnt make sense.this is one of those cases where the local homer gets a leg up on the supposed pros. You dont sound like a hater, you sound like Doug Martin's fantasy saavy aunt Patricia.Today he had that big game the fantasy world was waiting for. Congrats to the owners that played him--as it wasn't an easy decision. As I have always said--the toughest part of owning him will be what to do after he does have that big breakout game. Today is the day--do you decide to trust him--or do you decide to capitalize on his value rising? I think that I've made clear why I would probably shop him after his big game---but congrats to the owners that were patient enough to roster him this long to be in a position to make a decision. I know that I'll get labelled as being a hater for my point of view on todays game--but today the stars lined up for him. This game basically featured 3 quarters of garbage time. Jameis throws four ints--one of which is a pick 6--and carolinas D was playing "bend but don't break" for much of the game. The key is that Tampa didn't take Doug out of the game when it was out of hand--so that is a positive for him. You basically have a game against a soft defense for 3 out of 4 quarters--but to his credit--Martin capitalized on it. I don't like when people make excuses for a lack of fantasy production--and I'm certainly not going to make an excuse for Martins solid fantasy production today--he got his owners points--and if he was on their benches--he at least got them value. I'm curious to see how owners choose to act with him from this point on.
lol..they are usually a very solid defense when everybody is healthy---but they were missing a few key pieces today. With that being said--the game was 31-10 in the third quarter--and Martin had like 35 yards on like 10 carries in the first half before the game REALLY went into garbage time mode. CAR had a decent (but not amazing defense) that didn't have to play with an edge for a large portion of the game. Again--I don't want to make excuses--Martin gave his fantasy owners production today---and there is zero doubt about that. Oh, and CAR's d isnt bad/soft.
you convinced me and i started him over spillerthis is one of those cases where the local homer gets a leg up on the supposed pros. This guy started him, rocketsaucerHe actually played in the 2nd half as the game was getting out of hand, something you couldn't say the last 3 weeks when it turned into the Sims show.
Stayed in the game, they kept running, and even got some checkdowns. I wouldn't plan on it happening again necessarily, and I'm guessing nobody was starting his ### either.
Like i said, Martin is a very talented back who is going to have games like this. Mixed in with a bunch of games where he gets taken out of the game plan early and only gets you 6 points. I did like the fact that they didn't completely abandon the run when they got down. But damn, Winston and his interceptions are going to kill this guy's overall production. He was on my bench for the first time all year. Figures.Martin's season is going to be one where all of his owners get disgusted with his 50 yard/no touchdown games and finally put him on the bench (which is exactly where I am). The mods sent you a warning because you took a fantasy football discussion and converted it into personal attacks. My analysis and take on Martin has been spot on so far this season. Read my previoius posts about him--and you will clearly see that I predicted he would have some big games--but the majority of them would be while he was on his owners benches. I said the stars need to line up perfectly for him to have the few big games that he is capable of every year--and yesterday that happened. You made a reference to "my mother" solely because I chose to take into account a players statistics under a different coaching staff. You choose to ignore those stats--so basically you and I choose to analyze players in a different way. The only difference between you and I is that I don't take my analysis to the point of personal attacks--and I certainly don't make references to "your mother". The mods took down your post and warned you because there is no place for garbage like yours in the Shark Pool. Notice--they left all of my posts up--which means that they don't view my analysis as being garbage trolling. In any case--like I said earlier. I'm not here to change anybodys mind nor behavior. Just do yourself a favor and keep fantasy football to fantasy football--and if you are incapable of that--then don't be surprised when you do get warnings.Watch out. If you call him a troll he'll cry to the mods and they'll send you a warning because... screw actual analysis and contribution, let's protect the trolls. You were trolling and being an ###.
