RB Glut/WR Shortage? (1 Viewer)

Beaumont

Footballguy
A lot has been said about the glut of available RBs. But what of the shortage of WRs?

Teams in pretty serious need (no particular order):

SF (Battle & Lelie)

Min (Williamson & ?)

SD (Jackson & Parker)

KC (Parker & Kennison)

Hou (Johnson & ?)

Cle (Edwards & Jurevicious)

Phi (Brown & ?)

Atl (White & Jenkins)

Ten (Jones & Givens if his knee is not totally shredded)

Seems to me some of the players on current teams that are assumed to be replaced may not be, and FA like Travis Taylor and Joe Horn may be well undervalued and/or the incoming rooks are going to be starting very early ...

I haven't really kept that up to speed on some of the more recent signings, but that was the talent pool as of a few days ago.

I am guessing 5 locks for WR in the 1st round (Johnson, Ginn, Meachem, Bowe, Rice) and another couple (like Jarrett) knocking at the door.

Pared down to viable starters. The rest don't come close to cutting it, IMO, and Horn's very iffy.

Although I agree with you that many of your "cuts" were adequate, guys like Proehl can start somewhere, and as for Horn, he missed 6 games last year and still outdid his 2005 season when he only missed 3, Id say theres still alot of talent there, and he could definately help a team.

740 yards or less are borderline starters IMO. FA WR class is esp weak this year.

Wilford is an interesting WR. A copule of games lst year he looked like a star in the making the..bam he disappears.

I would like to see him in a pass first offense.
