Yeah, you don't bench your first round RB to give your 7th round draft pick and honorary start and your sure don't bump him up to first team reps all week just for show. Based on what I'd been reading all week you could tell this was brewing.Honestly this seems more like an honorary start considering they’re going to deploy all 3 RB.
I don't think you announce this or go about it because of ceremony. This feels like a "we're going to start the game with this guy because we think he's the best for today's job." SImple as that, really. I don't expect great things from him, but it's a little more than honorary, one would think.
I mentioned this in the CEH thread just now but my guess is they want to see what Pachecho can do in a bigger role before the trade deadline, which will arrive before they play their next game in week 9.
Oh, boy. I have to lean Pollard against DET than Pecheco against SF for what its worth.So.... Worth a start today? For me, it's him or Pollard
That's what I was thinking but SF got torched a little last week. And is it crazy to bench any KC starter?Oh, boy. I have to lean Pollard against DET than Pecheco against SF for what its worth.So.... Worth a start today? For me, it's him or Pollard
Pollard
You don't ever bench Mahomes or Kelce. EVER. Even if the team they're playing against is God and his Angels. That's what I was thinking but SF got torched a little last week. And is it crazy to bench any KC starter?Oh, boy. I have to lean Pollard against DET than Pecheco against SF for what its worth.So.... Worth a start today? For me, it's him or Pollard
I drafted Pacheco in both leagues, ending up needing the spot and dropped in both. Added in the one he was available in on this news early this morning. What are some projections we have for today?
I don't usually give subscriber information away because I respect Joe's business, but today seems to possibly serve as an advertisement for the product. Sig Bloom is aware of this development, is awake and ready, and has changed his projections to have Pacheco at 10.84 points in my half PPR league.
Now, this is all going off of Rapaport and assumes not only is he getting the reporting right, but also that KC doesn't make an in-game adjustment back to other running backs should this not be working out well. It probably assumes KC is hanging with SF and Pacheco is effective in his first few series. Caveat emptor in a major way.
Good luck, folks!
Agreed....now watch him crap the bed.
Honestly this seems more like an honorary start considering they’re going to deploy all 3 RB. But it seems more like a negative message for CEH & a positive statement about Pacheco.
Whether that all translates to the field is a ?
Montgomery would make a ton of sense, especially with Matt Nagy on KC's staff.I mentioned this in the CEH thread just now but my guess is they want to see what Pachecho can do in a bigger role before the trade deadline, which will arrive before they play their next game in week 9.
Argh. Buzzkill. Kansas City in the market for an RB would kill dynasty dreams everywhere. And make some, I guess. Monty. . .who else might be on the block?
LeSean McCoy and Jamaal Charles both had RB1 overall seasons with Reid.I drafted Pacheco in both leagues, ending up needing the spot and dropped in both. Added in the one he was available in on this news early this morning. What are some projections we have for today?

Starting, coming off the bench, CEH gets injured and misses time…whatever, he’s still a Andy Reid rb. My expectations are low .
I think I’ve owned at one time or another every RB that Reid has ever rostered, I think the only one that killed it for me was Westbrook. But I may be misremembering

I felt like they knew that last year & it led in part to drafting Pacheco. But I think they've come to the conclusion that CEH ain't it.
Kareem Hunt not bad either before he got the boot.LeSean McCoy and Jamaal Charles both had RB1 overall seasons with Reid.I drafted Pacheco in both leagues, ending up needing the spot and dropped in both. I'll go the other way, and say Pacheco would be my call there. Pollard is big play or bust, and while he hits bog plays every other week, he's likely not seeing as big a workload, and if Pacheco starts hot, I don't think 15-20 touches is unrealistic.So.... Worth a start today? For me, it's him or Pollard
I will always understand why CEH went ahead of Taylor for KC, as there were so many questions about Taylor's receiving ability, and that's so huge in KC's offense, but I still have no idea how he went ahead of Swift, who would have been a perfect fit. Or even Gibson a round later.I felt like they knew that last year & it led in part to drafting Pacheco.
I feel like they knew it after seven or eight games and looked around and said, "****. We wasted a first-round pick on this running back? When the combine should have told us not to?" I think he's every bit the sunk cost poster child.
Wasn't gonna be nothing making him better but a whole lot of speed and power.
Jared Smola @SmolaDS
Worth noting that Isiah Pacheco's rushing yards prop is set around 33.5 at most books.
but I still have no idea how he went ahead of Swift, who would have been a perfect fit
That draft pick made me cry then and makes me cry now.I'll go the other way, and say Pacheco would be my call there. If I did rankings, I'd have Pacheco around RB20, and Pollard around RB30.

Obviously you start Williams.Wrestling with him or K.Drake. I suspect many would laugh at my indecision

I'm still going drake, at least for the next 38 minutes. LOL if Vegas has Pacheco at 35 yards rushing, Drake seems the safer for playWrestling with him or K.Drake. I suspect many would laugh at my indecision
With Gus back, and Hill active as well, Drake’s picture is a little cloudy as well. And bonus, they have a QB capable of leading the team in rushing yards and rushing TDs on any given Sunday.I'm still going drake, at least for the next 38 minutes. I’ll allow it .gifiPatch?

No absolutely not sunshine. But at least you know there's some data behind it, versus the unknown in KC. Well. I wnet over 38 minutes, but with Gus news, switched to Pacheco. Prob shouldn't, but I'll have more fun rooting for himAgreed. No absolutely not sunshine. Lots of guys back. Trent Williams, Jimmie Ward, Jason Verette as well. Plus CMC should help SF O e tend some drives.Bosa is back. That’s it. That’s the update you need. It’s the 49ers D. Not sure any RB is exactly set up for success.....now watch him crap the bed.
Isn't this D banged up? What changed from last week when ATL pounded them? And this is the KC offense mind you. I do believe Bosa is back.
Well

Same but also somehow Gus was just lying around as a FA in my league so I picked him up as well lol

You gotta keep in mind even when CEH was the "lead back", I think he was under 50% of the RB snap share most of the time. It's a true 3-headed monster there, and any of them getting double digit touches is going to be the exception.Did we get bamboozled?
