RB J.K. Dobbins, DEN (2 Viewers)

Would you trade Dobbins for Walker?
Kenneth Walker? You rush to accept offers like that
Not so sure I am with you, but I bet most people are. You are talking about trading a healthy guy who might get injured for an injured guy. If its dynasty and you are thinking KW is younger with less mileage, I could see that. But in redraft I would prefer the guy who is currently able to play. If both are at peak health, I would say from a talent perspective its probably close.
You don't win leagues in W2 or W3. Dobbins's production isn't sustainable on 10-12 touches, either. Please give me the younger player who has shown similar traits and has double the workload over a player that's never stayed healthy all day.

Dobbins is going to feast with Herbert out expect a ton of carries.
Why? Dobbins should never exceed 18 touches if the coaching staff knows what’s good for them

Pretty sure dobbins will get scripted out without Herbert and the team will just be **** prolly starting Najee know if Herbert is that hobbled

I am very tempted to sell high.
I've unloaded Dobbins for 2nd+ wherever I could. He might hold up, but he's not going to sustain this pace throughout the season. His value evaporates at the first sign of getting dinged up or injured.
…..until he does
I'll be rooting for him! I've been as big a fan of Dobbins as any in this thread over the years. It's a great story.

I actually need a rb, i have drake london and someone offered me jk dobbins for him.should i accept? london was lucky to get a late td last week otherwise worthless.what ya guys think

Redraft or dynasty?

Either way, Kirk started to look like good Kirk last week, which means fire. But if it's redraft and I squint hard enough and you need a back bad enough I could see it.

sorry redraft

I expect a drop off this week.

On top of PIT's defense, LAC defense should look good in this matchup. And both teams want to run. Feels like a game where there are just less plays run, less possessions. Low scoring.

Don't really know if you can bench him, but it's a good guess he won't have a monster game.

But you have preseason, what we are told, and what we think we know, and we need to adjust to what is actually happening. He's a massive value, and he's 1A.

Is it not sustainable? Will he not lead the league in rushing?

Maybe not. Big deal. Bunch of owners took him as RB3, and he's now their RB1.

Think of how the story changes. A month ago, he was in a share, and some thought he was completely cooked. Now the argument is, Well he ain't gonna sustain this, and be the overall RB1.

Enjoy Dobbins while you can.
You can say the same for every RB in the NFL. They all get injured sooner or later, it just so happens Dobbins’ bad luck came early in his career. In fact, one could argue that, in terms of odds and luck, Dobbins is less likely to get seriously injured for a third time before many of his contemporaries get seriously injured for the first or second time.

Not only that, but in a way, Dobbins, still just 25 years old, was lucky to have his run of bad luck while still young enough to completely return to his explosive self.

Tough matchup this week. Temper expectations.
Yup, benching him this week only because I have many good options. Tough matchup, gimpy QB, and due for a meh kinda game. I actually would kinda like to see them let Edwards take most of the beating this week and give Dobbins something of a breather.

I'm not I buy your last statement.
Why? If Pittsburgh is going to stack the box all game I’d rather Edwards be the one repeatedly smashed into a brick wall than Dobbins.

Dobbins also gives them the best chance at chunk plays, especially with Stick at QB. I doubt the Charger’s win this game without a few longer run plays and Dobbin’s is the guy who can give them that.

Yeah, I agree with using Dobbins strategically, just don’t hammer him into a brick wall all game is all I’m saying.

I'm taking a week off the Dobbins ride and using another Achilles RB instead (Akers). Not confidently, but playing Pitt with no QB just looks like high stinker potential.

As a Dobbin’s holder I agree, however I do not think Harbaugh cares what we think.

Even with Dobbins stock rising perhaps more than another player, he's still a buy IMO. Joe Alt has exceeded all expectations at RT and is quickly becoming one of the best OL in the league. Along with a healthy Rashawn Slater and Zion Johnson, Bolts have 3 recent 1st rounders on the line - with Slater being an All Pro and Alt showing All Pro potential early.

TLDR: San Diego may have an under the radar top tier OL.

@ProFootballTalk
Can the Steelers slow down J.K. Dobbins? In three prior career games against Pittsburgh, he has 326 rushing yards on 47 carries, an average of nearly seven yards per attempt.
Dammit Faust. I had come to logical terms of sitting him this week for another option. I played out all scenarios and did the math. Spoke to sources. Came to a great peace of mind about sitting him. Then this. Smh

Is it really relevant though? He's on a different team now that's not as offensively talented as his prior team

Sure you can, but some just get injured way more than others, like Dobbins, and that is something you can't ignore and just throw it in the "well all RBs get injured" bucket . Dobbins has had way more severe injuries than most RBs.

All I'm saying is enjoy the ride while it lasts, because with Dobbins it probably won't.

Once I saw Vidal inactive, I figured Gus was going to get some touches but didn’t think a virtually even split. Maybe team brass is concerned about overworking Dobbins and/or think he’s wearing down a bit.

I think this team has visions of making the playoffs. I absolutely think it's about managing Dobbins workload. Great for him and the team, sucks for us owners.

Sounds about right. As much as they run the ball, splitting carries is unfortunately really going to devalue both of them, especially when neither is overly active in the passing game (Dobbins a bit, Gus not at all).

I know someone is going to say injury prone, but I think my knee would have snapped in half if an NFL player was lying on my suspended ankle while another player was under it acting as a fulcrum. These guys have crazy strong knees.

Hoping for the best for him.

Been trying to trade him all season in a redraft. Unsuccessful. Everyone knew better and I’m stuck holding the bag. Hopefully just a week injury but no news.
