RB Jacory Croskey-Merritt, WAS (1 Viewer)

Bleacher Report
“This kid gonna be a problem”

Bill Croskey-Merritt is PFF’s #1 graded rusher through 4 weeks 🤯

Not exactly sure what they’re waiting for…but ok.
I'm not sure what the coaches are waiting for either. Maybe they're trying to give him a growth path so he can build confidence? Or maybe they don't trust him very much?

I have no idea and it's weird to not play him when he's actually the most effective RB in the league right now.
Well the limited usage could be playing a major role in his effectiveness.
Today's results indicate that ain't it

Glad the coaches woke up

It’s such a beautiful situation with the Daniels there holding LBs because of his legs. JCM could have a huge year from here out.

Benched him in several leagues for garbage players like Tolbert and Slayton at the flex........very haunting but they were using all 3 guys non stop but today it is all JCM wish there were like reports and stuff where you could get inside info these guys hard to believe we can't get any kind of info in the age of the internet

Still has done all this on only 8 carries that is what worries me not enough carries but Rodriguez has 0 today that is good at least

Looked really good today. Not sure if I have the stones to start him next week. I now have Woody Marks PTSD.

I don't roster him anymore but i follow it. They want him to take the job. The fumble might make them pump the brakes a bit but this guy looks big, fast, and agile af. He is averaging 7.9 a pop today.

I mean, what more can you do?

They only had 23 first half plays and 7 of those were on the final drive, which was all passes with under 2:00 in the half. So, only 16 plays outside that drive. He had five carries on those plays.

JCM ended with 14 of the 20 RB carries and CRod got 4 straight at the end of the game when it was all but over. So it was 14 of 16 late in the fourth quarter. He also had 2 of the 3 RB receptions. It looks like McNichols is still the 3rd and medium/long back, but Bill got a couple looks as a receiver including a neat looking screen.

I look forward to seeing the snap counts. CRod was barely on the field until late in the game.

Yup. I know I am going to be facing a lot of JCM questions in the week 6 WDIS thread and this is exactly my concern.

I feel like I should type up a template answer with all the caveats now so I can cut and paste it next week.

The difference between Marks's and JCM's "breakout" performances is JCM's came in a close game, and he didn't timeshare with anyone. Marks's came in a game they controlled from start to finish and the Texans still used Chubb a lot in that game. I think that is an important distinction.

Tentatively, I think this "breakout" is more fact than mirage.

He better get the rock as a RB1 going forward .. None of this going back and forth. The Commanders can be a serious contender with an explosive back like JCM .. That’s all their offense was missing.

Yeah there he is on my bench almost everywhere. Except in my best ball so yay!!

To reiterate, he is out there making it look easy. That was my first read of him weeks ago with limited touches and I really sort of felt like this was gonna be a good game for him but didn't have the nerve to pull the trigger. But started the likes of Tolbert and Marks so at least that worked out yikes.

Both TDs from yesterday look identical to each other. He just casually and easily bounces it to the outside nearly uncontested.

Having him in best ball (like the FBG survivor contest) is such a luxury as you don't have to sweat it and you get all of the good. Looks like he is poised for a potentially big run going forward.

You guys really ought to have some fun with advanced stats and JCM. Take the Maserati for a spin.

This is funny.

This guys’ YPC is so absurd that it’s all a bunch of guys with about six carries or so.

Also, have a gosh darn year ETN.

This kind of preemptive RB pickup rarely works out for me, last one I recall is Pacheco (coincidentally both 7th rounders). Here is to JCM bringing the noise.

If there was a rookie draft today, where would he go?
Just RB’s alone I have him after Jeanty, Hampton, Judkins and probably Henderson. But that’s it.
