RB Joe Mixon, HOU (1 Viewer)

DND next year. He was over used and really faded down the stretch. Perhaps it’s the entire offense too
I think he can be effective with a significant reduction in touches. It’s evident he has run out of gas.
Are you basing this on how you've seen him play lately, or just the stats? I haven't watched him, but it doesn't seem like his numbers lately are necessarily any more than normal random outliers.

HOU offense is running out of plays, running out of players, and the QB has turned into a pumpkin.

Run 1st down, run 2nd down, then sail it over the receivers head on 3rd & 7 has become their new normal. Then the defense wears down and the whole thing collapses.

Mixon often gets hurt late in the season. go back and check. I think one year he got hurt early. but hes always worn down late in the year. Thats been one of the knocks on him over his career if I'm not mistaken.

Jesse Morse, M.D.
I’m starting to get concerned about Joe Mixon.

High-ankle sprain in 2024 - missed 3 games

Recently spotted in a walking boot after having an offseason foot/ankle/leg (?) surgery. There’s been no details released yet.

The Texans have recently been linked to multiple RBs working out, including JK Dobbins and now Nick Chubb.

Mixon’s primary depth is Dameon Pierce, but they did draft Woody Marks in the 4th round but I’m not sure he has the tools to 100% takeover the backfield if Mixon were to miss time.

What are the Texans not telling us about Mixon’s injury?

Adam Koffler
Nick Chubb might have lost a step, but there’s no way this is a good thing for Joe Mixon

However, this will lower Mixon’s ADP, which will probably then make him a good value at cost

I’m still buying Mixon (so long as he’s healthy to start the season)

But Chubb is certainly more of a threat to Mixon than Dameon Pierce ever was

S&L yesterday said Mixon has been at camp with a limp and used golf cart. May mean nothing but given their RB core might be the oldest this could turn into a RBBC.

Well, ****
Can't see Mixon losing the job to Chubb. Chubb is cheap insurance, maybe goal line work? My expectations aren't very high for him.
Losing the job is probably unlikely, but I'd argue not entirely off the table. More likely than it was with Pierce and Marks as competition at least.

Chubb's addition is enough for me to knock Mixon from the RB1/2 borderline, to more of a low-end RB2.
