I don't follow HOU, but some of you who do have been saying for the past two years...

Piece sucks BECAUSE the team changed the scheme, yeah?

I'm pretty sure some of you said they went back to the scheme that works for him at the end of the season and his final game was 19/176 for 9.2 yds/carry. Isn't that scheme the same as his rookie year where he went 220/939 for 4.2 yds/carry 30 catches for 165 yards?

Ogunbowale is 31yo, Chubb is 29, and Marks hasn't taken a regular season snap, so...?

It's anybody's guess at this point. Chubb appears to be getting first crack at the job full time with Ogun as the 3rd down back most likely. If Chubb struggles then Pierce or Marks may get a bigger chance. Reportedly Chubb was not looking good early in preseason lacking his old burst, but looked much better in the two weeks to now after preseason game 1. I will add that the Texan's schedule is not easy out the gate so if they struggle I could see them making a change early.

You kind of have to wonder how they let their running back room get that way while even a garbage team like the Jets finds it easy to stock the cupboard. I know it's all priorities but it's not like the Jets used a ton of draft capital (aside from Breece) or salary cap space. It seems like it's actually negligent in a way by Houston.

And if I'm not mistaken, he can't practice while on NFI. So a guy dealing with a significant foot issue all offseason I can't imagine being able to stay in any sort of football shape.

Joe, I think you nailed that and helped a lot of us not yelling at you read the tea leaves. I'd added Pierce a while back and I'm still holding (My RB room is weak).

I was in a national contest draft last week where the latest he had been drafted out of probably over 1100 leagues was 12.2, with an ADP at the time in the mid 9th.

I was OTC with pick 12.7 and in these national type contests you love the idea of getting better value on player then any of the 14000 or so team that drafted already got and I knew this data when I was on the clock. He was available but I passed.

Did end up pulling him at 13.6 though, which right now is the latest any team got him in this contest so far. I have no confidence he's not out for the season but at that cost I'll burn a roster spot until I find out but that's about as much as I'd pay for him.

Total speculation on my part but I think he may be done. They've been tight lipped and very unforthcoming on his injury. Signed Chubb off the FA scrap heap in early June after there were reports Mixon was in a walking boot during OTA's with a "minor injury" in late May. Training camp starts and Mixon is still dealing with a "minor" foot injury nearly 2 months later? Now another month and not ready for the start of the season? The magic 8 Ball says "outlook not so good."

Texans can save $8.5MM cutting him next year and he'll be turning 30.

Pacheco and Tracy have jobs to lose. Mason is locked with Jones (an excellent back once upon) in a 50/50 split. I’m all about Mason, but the analytics guys are down on that situation, so I’m deferring to them (they’re employed by fantasy sites for a reason).

I am in a small no-money league. There are only eight teams. So, there are always some decent players available after our "auto-draft".

But I am as competitive in it as I would be in a more standard pay league with an actual Draft.

I'll join you. I thought Pierce might make some noise with less than glowing reports about Chubb, but he was a complete waste of space yesterday. Chubb is still much better.

Good point, looks like he has about 168 career carries and 101 catches. The 9 years was pretty generous by the announcers as well as they were counting this season and his first two seasons he was mostly a practice squad guy and had zero game touches. So it's really more like this was his 2nd fumble over 6 years and 269 combined touches.
