Probably fair but I expect he'll go before then
So if Kamara's ADP is mid-6th, this puts Taylor late 6-7th round?
So if Kamara's ADP is mid-6th, this puts Taylor late 6-7th round?
Irsay's Twitter statements notwithstanding, how have the Colts handled this wrong? Should they have buckled and threw out his rookie deal and give him a big contract? Or trade him for peanuts?Even in the Shark Pool, I doubt you get any disagreements.Im sure not everyone will agree, but In my opinion, the Colts handled this in the worst possible way from start to finish.
Undraftable. So if Kamara's ADP is mid-6th, this puts Taylor late 6-7th round?
Make him active and fine the crap out of him if he doesn't want to play.Irsay's Twitter statements notwithstanding, how have the Colts handled this wrong? Make public what they offered, if it was a good offer, so people can call JT an idiot publicly.Irsay's Twitter statements notwithstanding, how have the Colts handled this wrong? Being on the PUP, he's still getting paid while sitting on the couch. I'd imagine that he's not going to do anything to stop that.Look, Irsay and the Colts are doing the right thing. JT is under contract and if chooses not to honor it, that's all on him. I'm sick and tired of players not honoring their contract. I don't care if he ever plays for Indy again, and if he doesn't and he is not traded, then his butt is sitting on his couch without a paycheck. Good riddance as far as I'm concerned.Irsay seems like a complete tool, but again, we have no idea what JT was looking for here.4 years, 22.5 million, about 13M of which is guaranteed and averaging 5.5 per season. Announced in the middle of all this. Then they don't open the wallet for JT to get $7Mwhat...what???Don't forget they also handed out the 2nd highest contract in history to a kicker this offseason!Jim Irsay somehow managed to handle his star RB worse than Joe Schoen... badmouthed Taylor with that weird "if I died" comment, made up a fake injury for him and PUP'd him, then after all that wanted a first rounder for him despite refusing to pay him due to the RB market (and arguably the position in general) dying?
Oh, a masterclass in being an absolute piece of crap owner![]()

exactly my thoughts - how in the **** was/is this part of their vision?I wonder what JT’s agent was thinking.
I mean, this is presumably why players pay agents.
I don’t think they can extend him yet - but yes the Twitter statement was idiotic and they should have been meeting with him to smooth things over instead of drunk tweets.Irsay's Twitter statements notwithstanding, how have the Colts handled this wrong? Should they have buckled and threw out his rookie deal and give him a big contract? Or trade him for peanuts?Even in the Shark Pool, I doubt you get any disagreements.Im sure not everyone will agree, but In my opinion, the Colts handled this in the worst possible way from start to finish.
everything elser aside, do you believe he is truly hurt? because why would they activate him then and not now? if he is healthy I mean.JT needs to have thicker skin and stop thinking with his emotions instead of his brain. If he chooses to sit after coming off the PUP and he's not traded, then if he doesn't collect another paycheck IN 2023 that is on him. He's getting poor advice from someone. Didn't Derrick Henry play his entire rookie contract and had the franchise tag at least once?
It’s either a shark love or a shart move.Is the shark move to start throwing offers at the JT owner who took him in the second round? Or is this a avoid at all cost scenario?
Asking for a friend![]()
That's what I would do if I thought there was 0% chance he would play this year, but I still believe the Colts think he will come to his senses. He needs to fire his agent and quit listening to whatever idiots he's listening to.Make him active and fine the crap out of him if he doesn't want to play.Irsay's Twitter statements notwithstanding, how have the Colts handled this wrong? I'd expect that once he comes back, he'll have a string of minor injuries that are just serious enough to keep him from playing on Sunday.
Simple, you trade him for a 2nd/two 3rds. You can't refuse to pay him and cite "RB markets sucks bro" and then want a 1st as if the RB market isn't dying. Colts have been VERY public about wanting a 1st for him or "something adding up to a 1st" which makes no sense. Then the weird Irsay comments (drunk?) didn't help.Irsay's Twitter statements notwithstanding, how have the Colts handled this wrong? Should they have buckled and threw out his rookie deal and give him a big contract? Or trade him for peanuts?Even in the Shark Pool, I doubt you get any disagreements.Im sure not everyone will agree, but In my opinion, the Colts handled this in the worst possible way from start to finish.
Already has if he can’t play until week 5At some point, JT's trade value will start declining as the season progresses.

No one looks good here.Colts look like total fools here - way to help out your rookie QB.so ****ing dumb
Anyone think he's planning on doing this? He hasn't made any statements to that effect and he reported to camp. He's gonna miss all of TC and 4 games, without costing himself a nickel. He can come in and play for 6 games, and take himself out after that, and have a full season accrued.JT needs to have thicker skin and stop thinking with his emotions instead of his brain. If he chooses to sit after coming off the PUP and he's not traded, then if he doesn't collect another paycheck IN 2023 that is on him.

It is what it is. Honor the contract you signed. Derrick Henry did and played with the franchise tag in addition to honoring his rookie contract. What makes JT deserve more than Henry? Are you equally tired of franchises cutting players, then?Look, Irsay and the Colts are doing the right thing. But the teams don’t honor them? The non-guaranteed part is team friendly and leaves the player with no leverage.Honor the contract you signed.
Minor quibble but Henry never actually played under the franchise tag, they worked out an extension that same offseason he was tagged. He did play out his original 4 year contract as you said though. We'll see if Taylor does after these first four games on the PUP.It is what it is. Honor the contract you signed. It's all ego. RBs need to suck it up and honor the agreement. This whining about getting paid is becoming stale, whether right or wrong. RBs are SOL until a new agreement is done. They didn't learn anything from the Bell situation.Irsay's Twitter statements notwithstanding, how have the Colts handled this wrong? Should they have buckled and threw out his rookie deal and give him a big contract? Or trade him for peanuts?Even in the Shark Pool, I doubt you get any disagreements.Im sure not everyone will agree, but In my opinion, the Colts handled this in the worst possible way from start to finish.
I think they stick with what they have until Taylor (in theory) comes back. Maybe add a guy on waivers like Bam Knight. With Taylor still on roster it would just seem silly to give money to another RB like Hunt. The optics seem weird.
Maybe don’t draft a potential stud RB in the 2nd round unless you want to pay him.Irsay's Twitter statements notwithstanding, how have the Colts handled this wrong? Thx for the updateJonathan Taylor will not be traded. To start season on PUP and miss first 4 games.

Colts don't trade Taylor; RB remains on PUP list
The Colts did not find what it felt was a fair value offer for running back Jonathan Taylor and did not trade the All-Pro running back Tuesday.www.espn.com

It would be cool if they could somehow figure out pay/contract structures so we can stop worrying every year about who's gonna hold out, or stuff like this, or Bell..........#### that. "Suck it up", and risk virtually your entire potential lifetime earnings, for the good of the team is a false construct.
JT worked minimum wage, at best, for the good of his coaches and institutions for six/seven years before his first, non-negotiated NFL paycheck.
Burn it down JT!!!

….then I hope he’s saved enough of that rookie contract to tidy him over until he’s a FA next year. That is if he refuses to play week 5 onward.
