RB Jordan Mason, MIN (6 Viewers)

They basically had to abandon the run in the 2nd quarter last night due to the score. Hard to make long term judgements based on that game.
Agree that game script worked against the whole run game last night but it’s not like Mason has been lighting it up, whether it’s him, the OL, the whole offense ecosystem, or some combination of the above.

He had a window when Jones was out and that window has shut. He’ll need positive game scripts to have future value and those man not be easy to come by as JJM finds his way.

I was high on Mason coming into the year and thought he was in for a big season. But between bad QB play, game script, OL injuries….just doesn’t seem to happening for him this year. Now add Aaron Jones and you have essentially a roster clogger unless the Vike’s dramatically turn it around somehow.

Sigh, and I fell for it. I could have traded him right before the game and believed even with AJ being back, he still would have the most important (GL) role.

He may still have that, considering Minny never got to the GL and may never get there again lol.

He’ll still have some GL opps but the main issue is that this offense is a far cry from what it’s been the last few years. Not unlike what’s happening in Philly to a lesser degree.

The Vikings gave their rbs 9 carries total. This had nothing to do with AJ and entirely on Vikings horrendous offense and game script.

Agreed, but just had really high hopes coming into the season for JMason that he could be an RB1 given the chance. After looking at it he’s a lot like many other backs in the league where everything has to go right for him to be productive. Unfortunately, feels like he’s a low end RB2/Flex play at best moving forward.

Seems like an easy drop. If he had done anything when Jones was out that would be one thing, but he obviously didn’t and now he’s relegated to second fiddle in a non-productive offense.

Youre probably right. Barely used, poor offense, even if AJ gets hurt you're still looking at a 2 down RB in a bad offense. Ill probably drop in one league and hold in another.

Is anyone hanging on?

A. Jones is an injury waiting to happen. That said he's a roster clogger. Don't need to drop, but feel like tiddying up the roster.

If I don't have a player I want to add I am keeping him. He has some value and Jones is fragile. I wouldn't just drop him to "tidy up your roster".

Decided to hold him for now. He has a great schedule and Jones is always an injury risk.

Have him in 2 leagues.
He’s a starting RB…of course he’s rosterable and startable.
Have you seen the state of the waiver wires in most leagues this year?

Considering dropping him for C. Rod.
No way I make that move but to each his own. When Jones is healthy, he’s an RB2 at worst. C Rod (assuming that’s RB WASH) is part of a 3 headed backfield and needs to get lucky with a score (which he got last week thankfully). And he dinged his should but at least is practicing in full already. Still, I prefer Jones by quiet a bit

I'm talking about J. Mason not A. Jones.

lol. I jumped between threads and obviously confused myself.

Sorry for the spam.

That feels like a big natural reaction to his play the last few weeks

I have him on 1 redraft team as a 4th RB. Dealt him away in a dynasty league.
