Ya. Whose to say. So many articles on this 300 number for RBS. I will say our bodies aren't designed to run 300 times at full speed into other people during a 17 games stretch. Everybody is different on how they handle it. I'm also not avoiding him. Dudes in his prime and should be a solid 1st round pick next year.

I expect a mere presence of Packers' 1st round rookie WR Matthew Golden to lower the number of stacked box Jacobs would see this year. Golden's vertical threat needs not to be underestimated not because of his speed but also because of Jordan Love's arm. Granted, he isn't on Mahomes' level but he sure can spray all over the field if necessary.

But I have been surprised all preseason to see him almost universally ranked ahead of Jacobs, who is not just debatably the better player in this moment due to being in his athletic prime, but also on a better (or at least more proven) offense, and is coming off RB1 finishes 4 of the last 5 years, with the lone exception being the final meltdown season in Vegas playing for Josh McDonalds after being disrespected by the man and the organization the prior offseason. Jacobs is 27, but the fantasy community seems to be writing him off as if he were 31. It's weird, and maybe their instincts about him will be proven right, but I could not justify placing Jeanty (or McCaffrey for other reasons) ahead of JJ when I ranked the RBs going into this season. Glad to see some others are stating what I was quietly sensing.

Health is only one variable. I like drafting players who play on teams that should be playing for something during the fantasy playoffs.
I've had good success with that. Miami isn't good, so I would have a fully healthy Achane behind: Jeanty, Henry, Brown, Jacobs and in the same tier as Bucky and Taylor.

He was so rock solid his first 2 years too, what a brutal swing for people who had him in dynasty. It's hard to think of a player who had that level of hype and pedigree and immediate success that fell off so instantly without having a devastating injury.

Not to derail, but how is Bucky unproven? He was 10th in the NFL in yards from scrimmage last season, despite being a part time player for much of the season.

Isn't Emanuel Wilson the proven backup? He had an 85.7 pff grade on 101 carries, 4.9 ypc. Chris Brooks also filled in with 36 carries. Both are good receivers. No need for Lloyd.

Wilson at 226 lbs can move for a big guy. Seems like a valuable handcuff without any pub, but useful in bigger leagues.

What I've read is Achane has a calf injury so nothing too serious. But like LawFitz wrote, his ceiling is higher than any listed in those rankings IMHO.

I don't get the Bucky or Achane love. Bucky is unproven and Achane is already hurt. Called that one weeks ago.
Jacobs is a proven commodity on a very good offense. I have him above all three of these guys.
I do think Taylor is better, but Richardson sucks. If Jones was the starter, I swap Taylor and Jacobs.

If Achane were to stay healthy all year like he did last season (I understand he currently has a minor injury), where would you place him in RB rankings?

What I've read is Achane has a calf injury so nothing too serious. But like LawFitz wrote, his ceiling is higher than any listed in those rankings IMHO.

I agree. Last year was an absolute disaster and he was RB6. There is a chance MIA is worse or no better, but Achane proved he could overcome that. I understand the injury concern based on his size, but he did stay healthy last year. Just trying to figure out why people are so low on him.

We both share the same question. Truth be told, I'm hoping the injury concern he's dealing with right now suppresses his ADP.

That being said, unless pessimistic news presents himself, as of right now I still would take him late first round just to ensure I have him.

Then again, if that news states he won't be ready week one (I highly doubt though), I would be ecstatic to draft him early to mid round 2.

I feel he got a low key upgrade yesterday with the Parsons trade. I heard a comment that Parsons will shave 1-1.5 points of scoring off GB defensive expectations this year. That should lead to more game scripts that favor Jacobs usage. Thoughts?

I feel like those potential increased carries would go elsewhere. Jacobs was 4th in carries per game last season (not counting week 17 where he got pulled after a quarter) behind only Barkley, Henry, and Kyren (a good bet to see a smaller workload) I actually think the Parsons trade would be just as likely to result in fewer carries, as they may have more blowout wins. The Packers only had 1 game last season where they were really in catch up mode (Vikings in week 4)

JTaylor, Chase Brown, Kyren Williams, all of them are considerations but Jacobs seems like the safe veteran move when you come around the 1/2 turn
He falls to the middle of the 2nd, pairs well with a stud WR in the 1st if you can pull it off

337 touches last season, over 300 on the ground so he basically gets all the carries, would like to see him used more in th passing game since they struggle to find Wide Receivers
Do you want Jordan Love throwing 570 times if you are the front office? You might if he was as good as Aaron Rodgers in his prime but he's not. Way overpaid at this moment.

4.4 ypc, he avg just under 5 in 2022, feed the guy should be a big part of the game plan.
2,053 is his all time high total yds in '22, last year he got 1,670 but he improved on a career high of 12 all the way to 16TDs last season, Green Bay will factor into the Wildcard so he's gonna get a lot of touches, high volume RBs are hard to find. Don't be afraid to back him up with Marshawn Lloyd, injuries have slowed him down but once the season starts, he's worth a late dart throw

Jacobs will easily go over 300+ touches if he stays healthy, he's an autostart every week, hard to find and a safe spot anywhere in the 2nd round, easily could land in the Top 5-7 RBs '25

Just a gentile reminder that this was dormant all off season until "I/we" kicked it in the tail pipe to highlight an undervalued 2nd round RB

-Runs low and hard and is a small target to tacklers
-can catch enough - not phenom but enough
-GB brought him in or back in to get the TD several times last year

It'll be fun to revisit. Got him 2.05 in a 10 team RB #8 or so
