RB Keaton Mitchell, BAL (4 Viewers)

I love me some Mitchell as a player in a vacuum, and will likely try to stash him on my IR spot once Hockenson comes off, however that RB room is going to be hard to take a lot of touches away from...
Especially so considering Hill's invaluable skills as a blocker and pass pro blitz pick up guy.

They really trust Hill…I have said it multiple times but he reminds me of Kevin Faulk with the Pats…they have full confidence in him in both the run and pass game and it’s not a fluke they just extended him.

With Lamar coming out saying Henry has a great chance breaking rushing record looks like they aren't going to scale back his rushing attempts. Would think an injury to Henry or Hill for Keaton to have any starting value.

I don’t think anyone stashing him
in an IR spot is thinking he takes away from the two highly successful backs in front of him.

Fo deep leagues, he’s another lottery ticket. Lot of redraft players in 18-20 x12-14 leagues stash 3-6 tickets. Most of them never pan out but it’s a thing. Whole thread here dedicated to ranking lotto tickets.

I do.

Just for starters to be literal about this if he gets about any touch at all he'll be taking away because I don't think another RB has had a touch other then these two.

It's not enough to make him fantasy relevant but role I envision for him is the COP back to Henry with Hill handling the passing down role. Most see it this way, no? That could end up chipping into both of them a bit as he'd be a pretty dynamic COP to Henry who they might want not make sure to not overwork and that's a role Hill has been playing above and beyond the passing down work.

But not fantasy relevant without an injury, not replacing the role Hill plays as passing down/2 minute back. Might break off a long TD here and there but nothing anyone can bank on. But he might be the direct handcuff to both of them, with the caveat of if he's the same player so agree he's a lotto ticket. Picking are slim in some of my 12/20 sized national contest for a "potential" lotto ticket RB on the wire so I grabbed him in a few spots, one mainly as a Henry handcuff because my RB depth is horrendous.

Exactly. He's a lottery ticket with a very remote chance of being fantasy start-able in 2024. He was on limited reps last season with Gus Edwards and Justice Hill, and now the team has Derrick Henry and Hill is playing his best football of his career. Even with an injury to one of those two, Keaton Mitchell is likely still just second in line for carries, assuming they don't just have Rasheen Ali in that role instead. Going to probably be another year before Mitchell is back to fully being himself. Only reason he's still worth stashing is because it's a free space with the IR and he's shown to have explosive ability running the ball. Maybe John Harbaugh surprises all of us and uses Mitchell more than expected. This is a great offense to have a featured RB in. It doesn't hurt to wait and see how it plays out, but I'm keeping expectations low for now.

I have him {(18 x 12) + 2 IR}

No expectations

Stashing Keaton Mitchell on every Henry-centric build Team I'm running, and everywhere else where I have room to stash.

IMHO, he's Jaylen Wright squared. Better situation, you've got that right. 3rd Wheel under normal circumstances, absolutely. Change of pace to healthy Henry for sure, with a healthy Justice having his own role.

Can fill the Justice role, if Justice gets hurt, but if Henry gets hurt, or they rest him late in the Season, and you're competing in Playoffs that take place in Weeks 17 and 18 of the NFL Regular Season, well now...that's a whole other story.

I'm going to go ahead and call him a League Winner - if he's in a 1-2 punch with Justice, and Henry is inactive.

We're getting close to the end of the window where he can be had for peanuts. If you have the room, he's one of the highest priority stashes there is, IMHO.

He's not eating into the Henry/Hill dynamic in any significant way.

In 2024, at best we can hope for is Monken will have a gadget package for him to put stuff on tape to give defenses one more thing to worry about.

But he doesn't have a fantasy startable role in 2024, outside of an insanely deep starting league or massive injuries necessitating it.

I think his value is in between these 2 opinions.
He can be electrifying, even on mundane-seeming plays. The Ravens know this and they trust him.
My guess is he'll be used to lighten Henry's workload. The Ravens seem to love Hill, as they should, it's not like Mitchell will take over his role.

Not a simple ACL tear, correct? Wasn't dude's knee basically shredded with all three major ligaments torn? And surgery was what, nine mos ago?

Modern medicine and all, finding this extensive talk in this thread about his explosiveness being an X factor a major leap in hopium for 2024, at least.

Might be a roster casualty in one of my dynasty leagues tbh. Love Batman Mitchell but don’t really see how he’s going to have predictable usage/points in the near term. He’s been safely tucked away in an IR spot and I’m not sure I can legislate fitting him in and dropping someone off my main roster

before injury, he was one of the most electric RB's in the league. And if Henry starts to take less and less carry's as their season goes along to save him for the playoffs....what the heck

Guy was awesome last year but he had the injury on 12/18 last year. Still less than a year away from it. I'm sure he's done enough to get on the field again but will he have the same explosiveness that he had before it yet? I have a feeling he won't be fully back until next season.

Add in that Henry is having a career year and I'm not sure where he fits in other than a handcuff.

Picked him up off waivers on Monday and got Justice Hill in a trade that I shipped JJSS and Bigsby off for that also included Mooney coming back to me. Hopefully the Ravens run game stays on pace through the playoffs as I think I'm set. Had him last year and was loving his production before the injury. Cant wait to see what he does, and I can be patient.

I think he can be a guy that gets 6-10 touches a game and does a lot with it.

And I think Henry being on the team only helps it.

The problem is it will be very boom or bust. But the booms will be big.

I don't see much boom happening this year

All I know is it sucks they activated him yesterday. That basically moves up my need to clear a roster spot for him two weeks in multiple leagues vs them doing it later next week. Was not planning on that.

And saying that not sure what rush they were in and why they not think he could use the extra 10 days or so until the next game? That was odd to me and not just because it was bad for me.

They're eager to get him acclimated because he looks so explosive in practice?

Maybe he was active because they could have needed him in an emergency situation?
