RB Kyle Monangai, CHI (1 Viewer)

Adam Hodge
Kyle Monangai's tape is littered with patience and enough burst to get through holes that open up late. He might not have elite speed, but he can get the yards that are there to take.

Matt Bowen
#Bears 7th round pick Kyle Monangai (Rutgers).

5-foot-8, 211. Low pad level + contact balance. Sudden footwork — with short-area acceleration. Can shake defenders in the open field. Production on underneath throws.

Not liking this guy in my rookie drafts. Just dont think he is better than what is there and don't think he will add to a young QB confidence level.

I havent drafted him anywhere,

Yeah he’s a 7th round pick so you know chances aren’t good but you have to choose someone in the late 4th, 5th rounds. Hes at least a RB on a team with a new staff and mediocre options ahead of him.

Definitely keeping an eye on him. Sometimes with RBs opportunity trumps talent, and this may be a developing situation with Ben Johnson's past experience with Swift and Roschon Johnson seemingly a JAG himself. I do see a potential FA signing here that could change things, even a Chubb-type.

I’m a Rutgers fan, and liked watching him there. He does not have the measurables of the RBs drafted ahead of him, but one of those guys who just put in the effort to get yards. Offensive line was overmatched against some stout Big Ten DL’s, and he had to fight for everything. He may have to adjust to not needing to try to create as much.

Brashard Smith and Croskey-Merritt are the only 7th round RBs I have ahead of him. I'll take Monangai in this backfield over Martinez unless the writing is on the wall with Walker. Add Mafah to the mix, and some of the landing spots for these 7th rounders were more intriguing than guys going a round or two earlier. Total crapshoot with long odds to pay off? Sure, they're 7th rounders.

Drafted a few shares of Kyle this past week, complete bruiser. Still like the chances of B.Smith, J.James, Croskey-Merrit, Etienne and a few others over him

Definitely the most intriguing group of 7th, and 6th, round RB's I can ever recall.

Not a huge fan of Monangai. It's one thing to have a slow forty and stuff like that, but when you're below average in the jumps also I get really nervous. I want to like the hard runner from Rutgers. I do. But sometimes it all don't lie. The one thing he has going for him is that D'Andre isn't much of an inside runner and Roschon has no burst either.
