RB Latavius Murray, BUF (1 Viewer)

I'm trying to figure out does Lat have a better opportunity this weekend than Blount, J. Stewart or D. Herron. All 3 seem to have relatively safe floors. Not sure how Cam being out may impact the running game there. Pats backfield is always dicey it seems. Colts still want to use T-Rich. I like Lat's volume. Just not sure. Playoffs aren't the time to be too cute when you don't need to be.
Lat ? thats just lazy lol

Just watched the game and Murray got plenty of touches in the redzone. If he continues to get those opportunities he'll undoubtedly turn some of them into scores. He easily could have had two touchdowns Sunday.
good to know. thanks. it doesn't look like reece was getting any carries either, just 3rd down work I'm guessing?
Which hurts Murray's floor but idk man he looked good getting some tough yards against SF. He was protecting the ball well and showed good vision running in between the tackles against a good/decent run defense. Then there was a few runs where he broke loose and you see the speed. A couple other runs where there wasn't a lot of room but he would get 4-6 yards. He got smoked in the backfield too. He also showed some good presence of mind to go down inbounds instead of trying to get a few extra yards at the end of the game when they were trying to run the clock out.
I love this. All of it. Thanks for sharing as I didn't see a minute of the game or any highlights. Choo choo.

In the DST thread, there's been talk for a while about KC could be viewing this as a "revenge" game and will be keying on him.

Well it's kind of a revenge game for Murray and the Raiders too, he has unfinished business, he was robbed of a great night, he wants to have that day now, a full day, the day where he achieves his breakout. And the Raiders will be focused on getting that for him. No Eric Berry around this time either by the way.

Taking the leap of faith with Murray over Gio in the 2nd round of the playoffs.

Barring injury, i feel like his floor is 6-7pts in PPR, which is about par for my RB2 production for the season. I see it as essentially freerollin'.

Hopefully he finishes what he started a couple of weeks ago.

That revenge crap is so over rated.

Fact is, the Chiefs need to keep winning to make the playoffs. The fact that the Raiders are next up on the schedule means a lot less than that.

Based on what he did against SFO, his floor is ten points. He's probably going to get at least 3-5 points in the receiving game. Add 15-20 carries and he's easily in double digits even if doesn't score a TD.

plus they've been exposed a little.......they're bad against the run.

...and they also only give up 17ish points at home. Raiders only average 11.5 on the road. Not easy playing in KC, and you have to believe they are going to be ready for Murray this time. I don't think they were in Oakland. I see no reason they wouldn't just make Carr beat them through the air and try to put the clamps down on the running game. Will be fun to watch what takes place.

Carr proved last week that he will beat you if you sellout to stop the run. It seems silly to say this but KC is going to have their hands full with the Raiders this week. Lat is not going to gash the Chiefs like he did last time but he will have a solid game putting up RB1/RB2 numbers.

The Chiefs still win 24-17.

Raiders win 2 games and their fans start talking ####. lololol I love it mang!
We have different definitions of talking ####.

lololol
You guys are a tight nit group aren't ya?
I don't know what you mean, I do think you'll have a tough time finding Raider fans that are 'talking ### lololol'.

Frankly, I have been reading smack talk about the Raiders from fans of teams that are in worse shape, as far as I can see.

Murray, last week, is the only Raider to reach 20 carries in a a game this season. DMAC had 18 once and noone else has even reached 15.

The Raiders were playing with the lead for possibly the first time all season but is it the chicken or the egg?

You could argue that they were playing with the lead because of Murray.

And their average with Murray getting decent carries is 24 ppg, albeit both at home.

I don't get it. Had a nice first half.. game was close..

Latavius Murray rushed 12 times for 59 yards Week 15 against the Chiefs.
Despite averaging 4.9 yards per carry, the Raiders coaching staff only got Murray 12 carries in a game that was close well into the third quarter. Derek Carr had 56 attempts in the game. On the bright side, Murray started and was the clear lead back for the Raiders. Murray gets a tough matchup against the Bills next week, but he will be a solid FLEX play in the fantasy Super Bowl.

Rotoworld:

Latavius Murray - RB - Raiders

Coach Tony Sparano said "we ran the ball well" against the Chiefs, but "just didn't have enough opportunities."

Latavius Murray averaged 4.91 YPC and out-touched Maurice Jones-Drew/Darren McFadden 14-4. The Raiders seem to realize they should have rode the run game harder and now Murray gets a decent spot in Week 16. Following an upset of the Packers, the Bills are due to let down in the Black Hole -- where the Raiders are 2-0 in their last two games. The Bills have also been scuffling a bit against the run lately, leaving Murray as a rock-solid FLEX option at worst.

I tried to tell you....if it wasn't for a garbage TD with a minute left they wouldn't even have made it to their average.

He needs to sell his routes more when he's running out of the backfield. He'll get better the more experience he gets. Hopefully the Raiders realize what they have and he gets a starting role next year. His athleticism is clear on the tape and he's putting up great numbers.

It's the Raiders though. Sometimes they're unpredictable.

Thoughts on Buffalo? Raiders have won their last 2 home games, long trip for Buffalo and coming off a high vs GB.

Should be close enough for Murray to get more than 15 touches. Tough defense but no reason he can't bust a long one with his athleticism.

The biggest variable at this point is the staff. Last week Murray was averaging 8 ypc at halftime and he barely touched the ball second half. Frustrating.

In his last four games as the lead back, Latavius had 79 touches for 366 total yards. No TDs, but did get some carries in close, and there were at least two or three one-yard TD passes where he might have scored if given the opportunity.

What do you estimate his PPR ADP will be next August?

Given his talent, production and potential as a three-down back, I'm thinking he could go in the third round.

Anybody else super excited about Latavius Murray next year? 3 down back that could have 40-50 receptions next year.
It's too early to say. With all the cap space they could still sign a guy like DeMarco Murray. I'm not saying they will or should, but right now of course a new coach/OC is going to talk up the players that are currently on the roster. It doesn't mean a whole heck of a lot right now though.

Let's see what the Raiders do in the draft before getting super excited about Murray. But if they don't draft a RB in the 1st 3 rounds and Murray has the chance to be a RB that can get 240-260 carries and 40-50 receptions, then Murray could be a really nice RB2 next year.

Good point guys. Hopefully they spend that FA money on a WR and some more OL but I guess we have to wait and see what they do.

With all the needs on both sides of the ball, Oakland would be stupid to draft a RB in the first 3 rounds.

Wait a minute..............
