RB Le'Veon Bell, FA (3 Viewers)

On pace for an insane 4 TD's this year. 15-20 every game isn't anything to be mad about but he doesn't have much upside.

Move the goal posts further.

Again nobody is saying Bell sucks. He's just not going to win you any games all by himself because they ignore him in the red zone. Still a great player and I'm very happy to own him. He's the Andre Johnson of RB. Sweet!

Bell was in on the GL this week. He swung and missed....but that's besides the point.

It's not like he is getting subbed 100% of the time in GL. Blount probably has a few vulture left, but Bell will get some GL TDs going fwd and probably a handful of big ones through the air.

I believe the comp. I would make to him is Jamal Lewis. The feet are not as nimble but he might be a a tad faster (yet not as quick to wiggle). Probably has more flexibility than Lewis.

I think for Bell it will come down to where he lands. Put him in St. Louis and I'm really starting to watch. Put him in New York as a complement with a specialized role and I don't think he will evolve much past that.
:goodposting:

If he goes to GB, St. Louis, maybe even Pittsburgh, I will think much different of him than if he goes to Baltimore...
Jamal Lewis both tore an ACL and spent a year in prison in the heart of his career, but still scored 1842 fantasy points.I will bet $20 squazillion that Le'Veon Bell doesn't score more than 1000 (i.e. roughly half as many as Lewis) in his entire career.
thats alot of money

He has the 11th most red

Really? Do you know he has the 11th most looks in the red zone of all RB's in the NFL through week 9?

hes 2nd in the NFL in yards from scrimmage and has the second most recptions for a RB with 47.

Dude is legit.

TDs are super fluky, next year he could easily have 12 rushing tds

Question: You guys carry Blount as a handcuff or not worth it?
Well, I am pretty much guaranteeing an injury here, but I do not carry Blount on my squad.
I was hesitant to even ask haha. Could pick him up and play it safe but for some reason Jonas Gray is tempting.
I traded a 3rd rounder for him right after I posted that.
Ha...I should have but someone grabbed him.

12 TDs scored by his team in two games and he gets 1 of them? Thumbs up bro.

Yeah, I think it was just two years ago Calvin Johnson lead the league in receiving yards but only had five TDs, or something like that...

Le'Veon Bell rushed 11 times for 36 yards in Sunday's Week 10 loss to the Jets.

Predictably finding no room to run against the Jets' elite front, Bell salvaged his day with eight catches for 33 yards. He now has 55 catches on the season, setting a franchise record for RB receptions in a season despite only having played nine games so far. Bell, who was pulled in favor of LeGarrette Blount for unsuccessful goal-line work, will find softer sledding as a strong RB1 against the Titans in Week 11.

Even in a bad week his reception total pumps up his fantasy stats nicely.

Blount running east-west and losing 5 yards down by the goal line might make Tomlin re-think his usage.

Shocking that they insist on using Blount at the GL. Bell's vision is such an asset when you need 1-2 yards. He finds those creases. Game was still in question when they had 1st and Goal at the one, and Blount lost 10 yards on 2 carries. Very frustrating to watch.

Yes, that was a decent silver-lining. Blount looked ridiculously poor on that big loss play.

Unfortunately, it will probably just be more fuel for Haley to call pass plays from the 1.

I've said it before, but Bell's vision is just "ok". He is too patient hiding behind linemen waiting for an opening. When he is actually decisive and just goes, he looks incredible but I think that is the reason they use Blount at the GL. Blount chooses right away and goes, Bell questions himself too much.

I talked to my buddy yesterday about the game and we both have a theory that the o-line isn't very strong, and they are more of a finesse group in run blocking. That (at least in our minds) is resulting in gaps not opening up right away and as a result Bell hiding behind the line then going somewhere. Not sure if this is the scheme they run and frankly I don't know much about run schemes, this was just a conversation from 2 frustrated Steeler fans. Again I'm not sure if his vision is a result of the scheme or his "patience" behind the line but it would be interesting to explore.

LOL, actually it won't make him rethink anything. Tomlin & Haley will continue to make decisions that keep them at 8-8 or worse every year until they are finally history.

Rotoworld:

Le'Veon Bell rushed for 204 yards and one touchdown on 33 carries in the Steelers' 27-24, Week 11 win over the Titans on Monday night.

He added two catches for 18 yards. After rushing for a combined 56 yards on 21 carries the previous two games, Bell busted back out in a big way. The Titans seemed sold on pressuring Big Ben, leaving gaping holes for Bell to run through. He picked up chunk gain after chunk gain, gliding past defenders. Bell's running style is amazing to watch. He simply glides and offers sudden, yet subtle jukes. Bell eventually found the end zone from five yards out in the fourth quarter. It was his first rushing score since Week 1. He's a locked-in RB1 with a soft schedule down the stretch. The Steelers have a bye before hosting New Orleans. Bell is going to be on a number of fantasy championship squads.

This thread is entertaining.

TDs are variable.

In PPR redrafts next year, he'll be my #1. I don't think he'll be a consensus top 3 - more like top 5 - but I absolutely want to own him going forward. What a horse.

It is not nitpicking when a guy is not even worthy of being discussed at the top players at their position. That is a wrong statement that deserves clarification for anyone who would make it because Bell has not nor is he considered in that light by anyone but you.

You have not backed up the statement either. Instead resting on some imaginary laurels. WTG.

I would agree, his low TD total is a little fluky, just like Ben's high TD pass total has been fluky.

A few guys (redraft) right this second can have a good case made for being the top RB (CHarles, Murray, Bell, Forte) for one year.

As a Bell owner I was very happy to see that the Steelers seemed to have moved on from giving Blount significant carries. I think Blount only played one snap tonight.

This obviously bodes well for Bell's chances to score more TD's down the stretch and with more TD's he probably is the 2nd best RB going forward behind only Charles.

In dynasty Bell > Charles. This year I'd say after the bye Bell > Charles too. It's been a frustrating 9 week wait for his second rushing TD but hopefully he continues to score.

not only did he lead the league, he set the all time single season record for receiving yardage

i think we watch a different blount. he seems to dance and stutter step a ton behind the line. hes historically actually been bad at short yardage. in tampa, the coaches removed him from that role despite the strong rushing abilities he as showing and the yardage he was producing.

Where has all the Blount enthusiasts gone? Remember he was supposed to take carries and hurt Bells value?

Anyone remember that?

Gotta give credit to many in here (including myself, ahem).

We're on the record of "buying low" immediately after Tomlin said it was a two-headed monster at RB.

I love Bell, his lack of TDs bother me but he is clicking at an unreal clip right now. His TDs have been coming so thats a bonus on top of his great yard and catch numbers.

Rotoworld:

When asked about Le'Veon Bell's workload going forward, OC Todd Haley said, "we will take all he can give."

The release of LeGarrette Blount leaves the Steelers desperately thin at running back behind Bell, who is coming off a 35-touch game. They're going to continue to ride the 22-year-old into the ground in all situations, including short-yardage and third-downs. "This is what I train for," Bell said. "I was training in the summer to get the ball as many times as I need to. I didn't feel fatigued in the (Titans) game." Don't be surprised if Bell pushes for another 30 touches when the Steelers come out of their bye against the Saints in Week 13.
