If Buffalo was sniffing around Fournette then I could see them making a play for Bell...Chicago needs help at RB and while they are off to a good start Nagy most likely needs to have a good year to keep his job...San Fran has had their RB issues this season so they can't be forgotten...Bell's landing spot has a chance to really hurt someone's fantasy value.
I keep seeing the Browns and Panthers brought up, and I have to wonder if people realize IR doesn't mean out for the year anymore. I can't think of many teams that would make less sense.
Chubb and McCaffrey will both be back, and Hunt and Davis have looked great filling in. Would Bell even be active in a couple weeks, as a 3rd string RB who doesn't play special teams?

The only thing that matters to Bell is the money. He doesn’t care about winning just as you pointed out.

Just dot connecting but mentioned a few posts up the Chiefs are my heavy favorites and I'll say why.
When Bell was floated on the trade deadline last year the Chiefs were one of the teams reportedly to show interest. When Adrian Peterson was cut by Washington he said that the Chiefs wanted to bring him but they wanted to wait till next week due to preparing for the Thursday opener and he opted to take the bird in the hand offer and role with the Lions he felt was secure. When Fournette was cut by the Jags it was reported that the Chiefs were one of the teams to show interest.
So we got Chiefs showing some element of past interest in Bell and showing interest in last two big name veteran FA's who hit the market.
Since the season began, back when Chiefs showed interested in Peterson and Fournette, I would say CEH has been adequate but if they felt they had a need back then I don't see anything that would change that now and putting Washington on active roster last week might have been a sign of that.
As for Bell money won't matter and he'll be signed to league minimum offer. If he plays with anyone this year will be for love of the game and/or improving his stock/image. I say that because his contract has offset language so whatever a team pays him won't exceed the money he'd get if he just went home for the year. So with that in mind that only increases to me the odds of Bell signing with the Chiefs instead of being traded to them as he's going to want to pick a team that he's got a good shot for a big role, on an offense that will allow him to excel and if it's a contender with a coach like Reid and QB like Mahomes that would be an extra bonus.
Some other teams make some sense to me, oddly enough like all of the teams from the AFC East, but I had put Chiefs as top contender when his contract had to be worked out but now that Bell gets to choose were he goes and Chiefs would pay league minimum with no trade comp I feel the odds are higher.

As someone who picked up Bell on the waiver wire I hope you are right. A timeshare on a top offense sounds better than one on a mediocre one.

They are 4-1 and have some dude named D'Earnest as their backup RB. No one has any idea when Chubb will be back and more importantly when he will be fully recovered. Stefanski doesn't coach fantasy football and has no need for Hunt to be a bellcow, he wants to win games and if Bell will help with that you can get your house they'll consider it.
As someone who invested in CEH I hope I'm wrong.
As for Bell's fantasy stock yes I think KC would be an ideal place even in a timeshare with CEH. Both would probably be low end RB2's in PPR but for Bell that's probably a win. Now if I thought he could essentially take Myles Gaskins touches with the Dolphins, get a 13/4 type workload each week, I think that might be better for Bell and I know would make me a lot happier.

Would be shocked if the Steelers brought Bell back. Plus he does not even look like the same RB he was 3 years ago.Bell's hold out did not go over very well in the Steelers locker room and Bell said some disparaging remarks about Tomlin and Ben. I really don't see the Steelers having much of an interest and bringing that sideshow back.

I thought Bell looked like his old self last year, just on a brutally bad offense. I haven't watched a snap of him this year, though.

He sat out all of 2018, not sure what that does to players but typically that's not really a good thing to be away from football for 18 months? He was 24/25 years old tearing up the league, now he going to be 28/29 and has an attitude if you believe what you read.
I think KC is a great idea whoever started that arc, that's a great team with a lot of weapons and maybe he could settle in to 10-12 big carries a game or be the closer in the 2nd half that they need to hammer the ball. I can't think of a better situation and he catches a lot of balls or can. CEH can still get 15+ touches but Bell would likely help that team and maybe give them a spark to carry it home B2B.
The Raiders do not need him but he would look great in Silver and Black every 3rd Drive, Booker would have to slide out and Booker has looked really good so there's no reason for them to even think about it...still it's Gruden and he is always going to look at high profile skillset guys, he's not afraid to sign and bring in talent if there's still talent there. Also keeps him off the Chiefs roster.

This is the same reaction people had when the Browns brought in Hunt in the first place. Guess what - NFL teams like talent. Especially when it's cheap and especially when it's motivated. Bell has an image to repair and he's already double-dipping the checks this year. The question isn't what a team would do with too many good RB's after a few weeks, it's if Bell has anything left in the first place. Coaches want to win now, this game, this week. If bringing in a guy like Bell does that they will do it and they will deal with a surplus of talent later.

Miami actually could make a run at the #7 playoff spot, soft schedule coming up and they could use a guy like Bell for 10-12 hard carries a game, especially in the 2nd half when we have built leads, we need a closer/thumper to get it done. OL is improving, we have skill guys, QB situation will be evolving and we play the Jets TWICE in the next 6 weeks
and Pittsburgh later in the year

Any speculation on how long til he signs. His signing is going to be a big shakeup
He's a vested vet so he can't be claimed on waivers but he still has to pass through them(don't ask me why) so he can't sign with anyone until 4 pm today.
As for speculating on when he signs after 4 pm I guess he could sit back a week or two and see what might open up but my best guess is he'll be signed tonight, maybe tomorrow.

Gaskin seems like a smart and reliable player, but he's pretty limited physically. The Dolphins would be in better shape if Bell took Gaskin's role, and Gaskin played more of an early career James White type role IMO. Would suck for my teams that are relying on Gaskin until Chubb and Ekeler are back, but I'd like it for the fins.I would bet heavy on these two teams. Yeah, I don't see this at all. D'Earnest is averaging 6 YPC and plays special teams. We know about when Chubb will be back, likely week 10. It was a 3-6 week injury.Hankmoody said:

Since 2017, Bell has the same number of 100-yard rushing games as I have. In fact, since the 2017 season, Bell has only managed to find the endzone 4 times (none this season). I realize Bell is only 28 years old, but his best days are clearly behind him. He is JAG now. He offers some value with his receiving ability, but there is nothing especially elite or unique about Bell any longer. I am stuck holding him in dynasty, but the time to just outright cut him may be fast approaching.

To be fair, he missed an entire season in that time frame, and played for the Jets for another season, which I consider exactly the same as missing an entire season.
I think he *may* have something left in the tank and could surprise, though the days of him dominating ala CMC appear to be long gone.

This is where I'm at. These he has done anything since 2017 posts are pretty misleading.
That may not be accurate. I can't say that for certain but can find multiple fairly credible reporters/beat writers who have said his deal contains offset language.
ETA- Dan Graziano, Shefter and Field Yates all 3 people I can relay to you who have tweeted out he has offset language. A few others as well.

I wouldn't be surprised if he remained unsigned for several weeks until a contending team is desperate. Who wants a mediocre RB who complains about everything on twitter (although Gase gives tons to complain about and should have been fired last year)?

Steelers fans still salty Bell stood up to the Steelers FO and they missed the playoffs by half a game in 2018. I get it. It was painful but the Steelers got what they deserved and Bell got what he deserved.......28 million guaranteed with the Steelers still looking for his replacement basically.
Look at all the RB after him with skills equal or better to him......all of them got paid after he fell on the sword so to speak. It's because teams learned these players aren't going to play for less if their play has proved they deserve more. The new rules won't stop this either. They will just show up and promptly fake an injury. I don't blame them. Ask Dak how quick it can end......

The Fins might have an interest in Bell, but I am not so sure about them making a run at the #7 playoff spot. They still have to play LAR, ARI, KC, NE, LV, and BUF. They are 2-3 currently. They have 4-5 games that they probably might/should win. 538 gives them a 21% chance to make the playoffs and project them to go 7-9.Ministry of Pain said:I would bet heavy on these two teams. By comparison, the AFC has 2 teams with no losses, 3 teams with one loss, and IND and LV at 3-2. That doesn't even include NE (who will be in the mix). That's 8 teams . . . and all of them are projected to get at least 9 wins. Maybe they get lucky and some of their opponents have COVID issues that prevent guys from playing. But IMO it would be pretty surprising if MIA made the playoffs this year.

NYJ...I get that it's division rival but c'mon now.
LAR...I have that as a loss
@AZ...If you watched them Week 3-5, different than what everyone was praising Weeks 1 and 2, Miami should be very competitive, good chance to pull a mild upset.
LAC...Miami can win this one

Those are the next 7 games, they could go 6-1, also could go 3-4 but at 2-3 right now, a 5-2 run would make them 7-5 Down the stretch before they face KC. PItt, NE, BUF, they have to win a couple of those to try and make it into the playoffs but 9-7 is not out of the question, surprised you re so "Phins are done in 2020" you might enjoy an NFL Rewind of Mia-SF
I know the odds are not in our favor but we are playing a lot better and the Secondary, especially the Corners on the outside, it's coming together, quicker than I thought. What was the Patriots record the early part of 2001? They were 1-3, lost @Miami and then started doing special things. I'm not saying Miami will do likewise but I think they have a great shot to win several games coming up.

Yeah, I never understand fans being so salty at players for leaving their team or going through a holdout. He stood his ground for more guaranteed money. He took a hit financially as a result, but I can't fault him for deciding he wasn't taking another 350+ touches without long term security. That was his choice.

Probably the biggest plus Miami offers to Bell is the South Beach lifestyle he so enjoys - and that's probably a reason for the Dolphins to not want to add him, if he's going to devote himself to enjoying the locale. 15 touches a game seems aggressive when CEH is averaging under 20.
If he signs with the Chiefs I'd say 7 carries and 3 targets is kind of a ceiling unless CEH is hurt. Can't see bell taking more than 33% of the touches from CEH.

Because money is no issue, he'd be signed for league minimum.
Because RB's are dropping like crazy, one CEH injury could ruin their SB run and Bell could be elsewhere by then.
Because he could really help them at the goal line.
