RB Michael Carter, Free Agent (1 Viewer)

Benching Carter but not picking up Bam

Yeah I just can't even give up a backup who has a 1% chance of seeing the field for Bam right now. I won't start him this week, next week's matchup is going to be just as bad, and then the bye week... I'll hold Carter and see what happens.

Huh. If I didn’t know any better from Adam Schefter then I’d say that was Carter out there on the first drive and getting Brissett killed in pass pro.

Of course Bam scored the TD so that was annoying as I kept in Carter in most of my lineups anyway despite the report.

Well this looks over it has been mostly Knight lately what a disaster between him and Haskins

What happened here today? Did not see this coming. he was a lottery ticket pickup hoping he’d have some value after today to flip him. Not so much now…

Michael Carter rushed nine times for 34 yards in the Cardinals’ Week 6 loss to the Colts, adding two catches for 30 yards.

After a workhorse role last week, Carter ceded much of his lead back touches to Bam Knight against the Colts. He saw the first backfield touch of the game, but the goal line snaps went to Knight, who scored the touchdown. Carter had one less touch and five less snaps than Knight in a near-even split on the day. Though he is splitting early-down work, the good news is Carter looks to be the passing-down back with Emari Demercado (ankle) hurt. The Cardinals backfield is going to be a frustrating committee moving forward and Carter has fantasy RB3 upside for Week 7 against the Packers.

Well, he was pretty bad.

Probably a sign that Benson will be back week 10 and they are OK with Knight having a full load for a week and then being the backup.

But WTF do I know?
That's how I took it. They can't run anyways so whats one more week without running? They better not trade for anyone.

Hooo boy. Reading this thread was a trip down memory lane and there are some astonishingly bad takes. Not because people were wrong about the process they used or the talent Carter had (though I thought those were both glaringly obvious even in 2021—I was trying to bring up draft capital repeatedly and his size and talent—almost nonexistent) but some of the justifications and reasoning. Wow.

I didnt think it was allowed to look at past comments like this. The reason I love these boards is because we don't drive this idea of accountability. Having said that, please don't look at the Dalton Kincaid thread from two off-seasons ago. I'll lose what street cred I have left. Ha ha

We're allowed to look. I try not to bump even though I was sorely tempted to on this one.

We've all bricked them.

Most of these are like applying a theory or something where they're in a pattern or out of a pattern. The Tebow one is being a football novice all over again.
1) I bricked Ekeler - not going to hold up with usage and too small
2) I bricked St. Brown as recently as four or five years ago - his testing was just awful. Don't look at the reports. they're AI and wrong.
3) I didn't much care for Jonathan Taylor but held my tongue. I did like D'Andre Swift better and I thought Dobbins might be the best of the bunch. He might have been in a parallel lane to Taylor. I was scouting the Wisconsin on Taylor's jersey. Learned the lesson. Oof.
4) My worst call was watching Denver beat Pittsburgh in the playoffs in 2012 or something and thinking Tebow might turn the corner and had him over Matt Ryan at one point after Ryan and the Falcons scored three or less against the Giants in a disastrous playoff game (that was when I had really just gotten back into football and was not very good)
