In the "Ask Bloom" topic on this forum, someone asked this exact question. Bloom's answer was, "All of it."Any Faab bids to suggest?
In Cleveland, things are pretty obvious. Nick Chubb is the man now. The second-round pick out of Georgia is an immense talent who has ripped off some huge runs this year. He's averaging an absurd 10.8 yards per carry (not a typo) so far this season and has been electric when given the ball.
Chubb is capable of carrying a full load and could become a monster as Cleveland's bellcow back. The Browns just made a smart financial move too: they won't have to deal with the aftermath of Hyde's contract. It would have only been a few million in dead money on the cap if he was cut next offseason, but they just saved cash, got to play their young back and got a pick in return for their trouble.
This is becoming nearly an exhausting stance you have on Chubb. Why don’t we see in a larger sample size if he has improved in that specific area (pass protection and pass catching). Because it sure looks like he can make plays running the ball which does count for something. The Browns must also believe enough in him to move on from a competent veteran.Saquon Barkley is averaging 14 rushes per game and he can pass protect and catch the ball so he doesn't come off the field unless he has a long run and needs a breather. He's never had 20 rushes in a game in his NFL career to this point.
Nick Chubb isn't going to get 20 touches a game if he's a liability in the passing game.
This isn't your daddy's nfl. Only Gurley is averaging over 20 carries. Hyde and Elliott at 18 or so. I honestly would think in today's game, 18 is about what you want your lead back to do.These Chubb isn't going to get 20 carries takes or whatever are horrible. This guy is a monster waiting to happen. Chubb has the 2nd highest game speed at RB on his 63 yd td, at 21.1mph. I'm not clear why they counting Henry's paltry 2 yd run in week 1 at 21.46. Barkley was 3rd highest on his week 6 run of 46 yds at 21.07. Chubb is 2 years removed from his nasty injury, I smell elite all the way. There is no chance on earth this guy isn't already one of the best backs in the NFL right now. He was every bit as good as Zeke and Fournette in college IMO before his injury. Gurley,Chubb, and Michel all on one college team reminds me of Miami's backs back in the day - Portis,Gore,McGahee
18 is enough, point is Tampa Bay's secondary should be ####ting in their beds right nowThis isn't your daddy's nfl. Only Gurley is averaging over 20 carries. Hyde and Elliott at 18 or so. I honestly would think in today's game, 18 is about what you want your lead back to do.
Well, there's reason to wonder.Interesting...all of Dodds, Bloom, and Tremblay have all of A. Collins, J. Howard, and M. Mack projected higher than Chubb in PPR.
Really?
It’s a fairly safe call considering we don’t know how Hue will use him this week.Interesting...all of Dodds, Bloom, and Tremblay have all of A. Collins, J. Howard, and M. Mack projected higher than Chubb in PPR.

IMO the TB run offense is a myth.Is the TB run defense that good?
I think Duke gets a little closer to last year's role but this is Chubb's backfield nowAnyone else worried the duke is about to splash?
Maybe but maybe it's notI think Duke gets a little closer to last year's role but this is Chubb's backfield now
I have both players, so I don't care which one produces. But, let's not kid ourselves... this is Chubb's backfield now. It was when they decided to draft him. It was just a matter of time.I think Duke gets a little closer to last year's role but this is Chubb's backfield now
I’m not sure I’m comfortable with that level of enthusiasm. Now it's time to unleash the Chubb!!

Man, maybe I'm a risk taker, but I have Chubb as a top-10 RB this week, miles ahead of those guys.Interesting...all of Dodds, Bloom, and Tremblay have all of A. Collins, J. Howard, and M. Mack projected higher than Chubb in PPR.

I'm certainly not a Hue hater. He took a tough job. But there's no room for feelings in the nfl. Play your best players. Period. And there's 2 n 32...What Chubb has done with limited carries is not dumb luck. Guy has probably been killing it in practice and his talents I'm sure are obvious to everyone on the team. I give props to Hue as a man because he probably made certain assurances to Carlos after Dorsey drafted Chubb. Hue kept his word to Carlos but unfortunately his word goes against playing the most talented player. So as a person I can give him props but as a coach of a professional sports team that needs to win we don't gaf what commitment you made. Field the best team.
Chubb had to watch Sony get drafted in front of him. Had to watch Sony get a feature role before him. Now it's time to unleash the Chubb!!
yep. Hyde is a filler. Chubb is a stud.To the question of Chubb's readiness to take this job and succeed:
I owned Hyde for the first three years of his NFL career, so I watched a lot of his games. The guy is legit. Hyde is an excellent, underrated RB. Cleveland knew what they were trading in Hyde.
I think Chubb is a superstar. Watch Chubb on that first TD at Oakland. Check out how speedy #21 has a perfect angle on Chubb, and Chubb rockets past the defender. Chubb is a beast.
Nothing about TB's defense is good. That being said, any team running the ball on them is doing them a favor. Is the TB run defense that good?
Johnson can get deepChubb needs to work on his pre snap
Chubb can just squeeze through that hole
4th and inches
Totally unrelated to Chubb, even before the NFL draft, I'd been saying Duke was overrated and a sell high based on two things: (1) he's a third down back on a 1-31 team. Expectations on his role continuing are going to be let down. Cleveland is/was improving. His role will shrink as they improve. (2) he's not that good. His rushing stats are aided by game situation. I was reading some advanced stats from 2016 and he was a JAG-level runner.Anyone else worried the duke is about to splash?
Hyde was scheduled to make $6 million next year which he never was going to see. Dorsey signed him in the offseason well before the draft after Crow left.Cleveland knew what they were trading in Hyde.
If you need a starting rb. Almost all of itAny Faab bids to suggest?
- DBNJohn Dorsey makes decision for Hue Jackson (cleveland.com) - Hue Jackson was debating between soup and a sandwich for lunch on Friday when Browns general manager John Dorsey traded his turkey club to Seattle for a conditional pick. Soup it is.
Maybe he can - who knows based on this year to date. It remains to be seen if Cleveland finally gives him more than 6 touches in a game.Johnson can get deep
Johnson can slide through even the tightest crease
3rd and long, Johnson does damage in the slot
Somehow I feel like you’re trying to tell us something but I can’t quite put my finger on it.Johnson can get deep
Johnson can slide through even the tightest crease
3rd and long, Johnson does damage in the slot

I admire you for posting a serious response to that. My 11 year old boy brain would never allow that sort of sincerity in a moment like this.Maybe he can - who knows based on this year to date. It remains to be seen if Cleveland finally gives him more than 6 touches in a game.
I think he's going to have to. Consider how many 3rd down and passing situations Hyde stayed in for that Duke will go in for Chubb. I'm not saying I know the answer but then no one does yet. This could become a Collins/Allen situation where it will depend on how the game script goes, and even Collins is a better bet in the passing game than Chubb, though like I said admittedly we don't know yet. Can Chubb pass protect and run routes effectively? We'll see.Maybe he can - who knows based on this year to date. It remains to be seen if Cleveland finally gives him more than 6 touches in a game.
hahahaha I didn't even pick up on it, which is amazing because my wife of 27 years often asks me in times like this, "What, are you 12?"I admire you for posting a serious response to that. My 11 year old boy brain would never allow that sort of sincerity in a moment like this.
