Reuben Droughns' availability for the Steelers game will come down to a game-time decision, but he's holding out hope he can play despite a sprained foot. "It's gotten a lot better," Droughns told the Cleveland Plain Dealer. "Hopefully, coach can make that decision, whether it's [Friday, Saturday] or Sunday. We'll find out." Droughns stressed that he wouldn't be making the final decision because "anybody can say they feel a lot better. At the same time I have to go out there and see how I'm running and everything."

Our View

Droughns was idle during the early part of practice Friday that was open to the media and most likely sat out the whole session. Coach Romeo Crennel didn't rule him out, but it appears that his status could remain undetermined until just before game time.

Done as in will not be the guy. He's a plodder and they will look at other options they have and draft or trade for a franchise back. That kind of done.

So, are they looking at Jason Wight or Jerome Harrison as the future.

Droughns is not a good play this week vs Pitt Def. The Clev Offense is stalling and stale (not as bad as Oak).

Droughns wants to play, that's a positive. He might not be effective even if he does play without any cutting/pivoting ability. Harrison is a better play this week, IMO.

Browns | Droughns OUT for Week 11

Sun, 19 Nov 2006 08:32:21 -0800

KFFL has learned Cleveland Browns RB Reuben Droughns (foot) is out for the Week 11 game. RB Jerome Harrison and RB Jason Wright will split time during the game.

I have both Harrison & Wright and I'm going with Harrison just thinking he may get more catches. If it's not a PPR league I'd probably go with Wright.

Who will get the majority of the touches? Wright or Harrison! I own Wright and I am desperate
Can't be certain it will again play out this way, but in week 3 when Droughns was out, Wright had 15 carries and Harrison had 2.
Did anyone see that game or have any insight as to why Wright got more carries?
Harrison is a 3rd down back Romeo compared to Meggett. Injury doesn't make him a feature back. I'd figure he could get every 3rd down carry(that's not a pass, obviously) and every 2nd and long carry but 18-20 is way too much to expect IMO.Harrison has NOT been that Meggett guy. His stats stink. IMO they should "get going" if they're gonna use him in that role we're 10 games in give him a chance.

I agree. Wight is more the lead RB role, while Harrison is the 3rd Down or Change of Pace RB.

My own guess is Wright 15+ carries and any GL work, Harrison no more than 5. Harrison may get 2-3 catches.

Thing is, I personally don't think Wright is much of a drop off (if any) from Droughns. They won't have much of a YPC against PIT, but neither has Droughns all year. I think we'll see maybe 50-60 yards out of Wright and possibly a lucky short TD. I'd always rather start the GL back (Wright) over the pass catcher (Harrison) because there's a chance of a pass catch or interference call putting the ball inside the 5 even if the running game is putrid.
