RB Saquon Barkley, PHI (3 Viewers)

Paul Charchian gives Barkley and 8th round redraft grade for this year. "Barkley is cooked I would rather have Zamir White, Stevenson and Johnathan Brooks" and he doesn't mean because of "value" he means he would take them over Barkley if they were all still on the board in round 8.

So if anyone wants to take a listen fast forward to the 26 min mark of this podcast from 14 weeks ago and Paul Charchian who is well known fantasy football guy for decades tells you how he Barkley is cooked and how he would take Zamir White, Stevenson and Brooks over him.
Everyone has hits and misses. To me this is yet another reminder of how you can’t remove situation from your evaluation of a player. Anyone watching the Giants the past couple years knew D Jones sucked, the o-line sucked, and every DC put 8 in the box to stop Saquon. And all the stats backed up the eye test.

Sometimes people are so “smart” that they overlook the basics.

There are misses and then there’s saying you wouldn’t take a consensus top 12 pick in the 8th round. You wanted the clicks, own it
I have been playing fantasy football since 1990 and this goes down as the worst "expert" call I have ever seen. To hate a guy so much who was going in the 2nd round and not only is he good he is currently being drafted as the #1 overall pick in the underdog resurrection draft.

Now of course everyone has their misses but this was a huge stand that is a miles away. Does it even matter ? Well kind of I mean I know it got inside my head a little bit and I faded Barkley at his 2nd round ADP way too often. I barely own Barkley except in dynasty where I actually traded for him this year and last year and own him in 3 spots.

Barely own in redraft though missed him a few times by 1 pick when I was going to take him in the early 2nd. Those really sting now. In other drafts he went in round 1 and I wasn't on board with round 1 Barkley but I clearly should been. I normally favor the WR's but taken G Wilson and Puka over Barkley clearly not working out.

Just acquired him in a trade. Question to all owners, do you also own have Westbrook as an insurance cuff in full ppr leagues?

How valuable is Westbrook if Barkley goes down?

Barkley is probably not a guy I would want to handcuff his backup. It's possible that Shipley could be something, but the coaching staff seems like to like Gainwell (even if he's a non-factor with Barkley) and would probably be part of the equation if Barkley were out.

Yes these people need to be called out. They make these outrageous calls because they know if they're wrong it will fall by the wayside, but on the off chance one of their looney calls work out they just brag and gloat about it non-stop. So they need to be called out for how silly it is when it ends up being as dumb as it sounded.

Saquon Barkley ran 17 times for 177 yards and one touchdown in the Eagles’ Week 7 win over the Giants.

Barkely took his former team to task all afternoon. He averaged an impressive 10.4 YPC in his return to the Meadowlands, thanks in part to runs of 55, 38, and 41 yards. He saw two opportunities for a one-yard touchdown get vultured by Jalen Hurts, but did punch in a three-yard touchdown in the first quarter. Barkley also caught two passes for 11 yards, but as has been the case for much of the season, it was his effort in the ground game that proved to be the difference maker in the win. Barkley will be a high-end RB1 in Week 8 when he and the Eagles visit the Bengals.

At some point a reporter will ask who made the final call on Saquon Barkley; Daboll/Schoen, or Mara.

Next Gen Stats
Saquon Barkley reached a top speed of 21.93 MPH on his 55-yard run, the 2nd-fastest speed by a ball carrier this season.

Barkley currently accounts for the 2nd and 4th-fastest speeds by a ball carrier league wide (21.66 MPH in Week 3 at NO).

They should really ask who made the final call on Daniel Jones. That was a terrible decision.

I don't usually condone bugging people about being wrong, but this guy absolutely deserves to be razzed for the rest of the season and all through the offseason and 2025 draft prep season. If you're gonna make such a clickbaity declaration, you deserve to be called out for the clown you are and everyone else needs to be signaled not to pay attention to you.

Once Philly decides to give him about 5-6 minimum targets in the passing game, they're going to fly again.
Legit should be getting around 7-8, imo, as a floor w/ that weak o-line

"In fact, Jones hasn't thrown a touchdown in front of his home fans since New Year's Day 2023. That was 658 days ago." :oldunsure:

Hell of a game. And I’ll point to the shirt after still losing with Barkley and Bijan in my lineup.

But this game really made it hurt watching what we all expected to hurt to start the season with the Hurts tush push vulturing two easy TD attempts.

I'm pretty sure everyone who drafted Barkley made an attempt to account for possible TD's lost to the Brotherly Shove. A few, some, a lot of TD's lost? I know I made an attempt. In the end it came down to knowing it was going to happen and just being able to accept it. Each time it did happen. Been a few already this year. Going to be more.

At the expense of being greedy, it is a bit of a bummer that Hurts got the tush push ones yesterday when it would have been even more of a dagger to the Giants to let Saquon get multiple TDs. But can't complain - hopefully Saquon will still get some goal line love even if Hurts gets his too.

as a Sequon owner I'm happy with what I'm getting. dont curse it.

Agreed. I was surprised they didn’t let the revenge game narrative play out. Especially when the giants weren’t doing anything offensively.

But… at that distance. The shove is virtually a sure thing with two downs to get it.

Hurts is a ball hog.

But Siranni was going to feed Barkley more but Barkley is all class:

Funny how 100+ yard rushing day feels like a bit of a letdown.

These last two games we are really feeling that Hurts vulture we were all worried about to start the season.
Nah, like I said, if you chose to draft Barkley you were already baking those "vulture TD's" by Hurts into the equation. I was thrilled to get him at pick 1.11. Haven't been worried once.
