RB Saquon Barkley, PHI (1 Viewer)

It was the second time in his career I lept out of my seat laughing at how absurdly awesome a play it was. The first time was when he was at Penn State. He hurdled a dude, got hit by the 2nd man in mid air, stayed on his feet and kept running. Absolutely amazing athlete.

In 20+ years of messing with FF, he's probably the best RB talent I've come across.

I was higher on him than Bush, Peterson, Richardson, whoever.

It's not an exaggeration to call him a bigger, stronger, faster Marshawn Lynch.

His career to date has been one of the worst possible runouts due to injuries and being stuck on NYG.

Tomlinson for me but I can get behind your take.

No doubt. In my mind I was focusing on the years after 2000. I still remember taking the rookie Tomlinson in the first round of the start-up draft of a keeper league.

I thought about him. That was the 2001 draft, right when I was just getting into FF and before I ever played dynasty. Obviously he was incredible in the NFL, but I didn't watch him enough at TCU to know or believe he would be that good. The cutoff for me is about 2003 for when I was really getting invested in each draft class. That's why I also excluded Barry Sanders and Faulk.

Tomlinson was sure incredible though. He was 5'9" 220, but ran like a ballerina with rocket boosters.

I'm not the expert many of you are but in the ~40 years of following football closely I put Saquon up there with the most talented RBs of my time.

Tomlinson/Edgerrin/Faulk are the comps that come to mind. Almost the optimal sweet spot of incredible speed, power, and jukability.

Put this in the game thread, but found these stats interesting to lean into before tomorrow. Not that anyone isn’t starting Barkley anyways.

Washington is 28th in rushing yards allowed per game with 142.

In their last three games they’ve allowed 166 yards per game.

Philly is ranked second with 176 rushing yards per game. 195 per game in their last three games.

Seems like a smash spot for Saquon in a very important game.

What could possibli go wrong.

And, I believe Jordan Mailata is back this week too.

I think I heard on a podcast yesterday that Barkley has been tackled at the one-yard line 10 times this year, by far the most of any RB. Some randomness involved, but either way it's definitely cost fantasy owners lots of points.

So frustrating .. could take the average game and make it an extraordinary 20+ performance, but to no avail

Next Gen Stats
Saquon Barkley reached a top speed of 20.78 mph on his 23-yard TD run, his fifth run of the season over 20 mph, most in the NFL.

Barkley also leads the NFL in explosive runs (10+ yards) in the second half of games this season (16).

He will probably end up RB1 on the week. What more do you want?

ALL the TDs. Duh

Traded for him 3 weeks ago. Gave up Pollard, Spears, Kupp and Addison for Barkley and DJ Moore. Totally satisfied.

who the **** would trade him? wow.
Guy in my league was 2-6 with nothing at WR. Of course now he's 2-8.

that guy

Found this sideline video of Barkley from today’s game.

Coming into tonight he was on pace for 2,290 yfs. After tonight he's on pace for 2,788 yfs.

The record is 2,509 held by Chris Johnson in 2009.

Can Saquon average 143 yfs/game over the last six games to tie CJ? Probably.

But the Eagles are now sailing away with the division with a 2.5 game lead on the Commanders.

They have a 3 game lead on the #2 seed in the NFC but they have a reasonable aspiration for the #1 seed particularly if they can get past Baltimore next week. So I don't see them letting up anytime soon.

Needs to top it in 5 to avoid the "*", buuuut... he has CAR on the docket soon. He may get 400 yards in that matchup alone (but still prolly lose 3 tds to Hurts).

He has singlehandedly been keeping one of my injury decimated squad's playoff relevancy alive. Starting to get guys back the past 2-3 weeks...maybe he lets me make some post-season noise after all?

Go get it, Quon.
