RB Tank Bigsby, JAX (2 Viewers)

I liked Bigsby last year, had him just above Charbonnet entering the draft. Did not love his landing spot after the draft but for sure thought he'd force more of a timeshare with ETN but he was not up to it.

Drafted him in two dynasty leagues. Once was out of pure spite and it failed miserably. The other was an ETN team that's super thin at RB. Have one other ETN team, the Sharkpool league which is TE-P, were I mulled picking him or Laporta at 2.5. My team was merely adequate at RB, at the time I had PItts, Goedert and Kincaid at TE. Thankfully I went LaPorta and will probably use that pick as a mental reminder for years to remember to go BPA and not need.

The league I drafted him out of spite I cut him around midpoint of the season. The only player I can recall I ever drafted that early I gave up on quicker was Isabella. I held onto him in the ETN league which remains super thin at RB but had every intention of cutting him. But mark me down as a sucker for a good off-season piece of puff news as I decided to go ahead and hang on and dealt off Demario Douglass for a 4th to create the spot. Just wanted to hold one place in case what I thought coming in last year turns out to be the case, when I was relatively high on him and an ETN team which is very thin at RB team seems like the spot. But as someone upthread said, RB is not a big developmental position, rare to look as awful as he did and rebound so not overly optimstic.

I generally agree, but this case might be different. I say that because it's not like Tank looked slow or incapable necessarily, more so it was like he was confused/in a funk all year.

Why did my posts get scrubbed but not his? I meant what I said nothing out of line...The situation was all good as long as he stops calling me a troll and accusing me of being a different person.

I mean were not all Chat GPT bots, the human element is going to come into play from time to time. Having quality posts deleted makes me not want to put in the effort to post on a discussion forum.

I am rooting for Tank. He might have a different style or pace of learning than other RBs...but I often notice when people have perceived weaknesses they often have other strengths that might not be readily apparent.

Keep it 100% on football. When you post insults like, "You arrogance is causing you to be stubborn. I get the vibe you are upset that there's an oppinion or view points you don't like in your safe space." that's going to be deleted. If you want to post things like that, we're probably not the board for you.

Please keep it 100% on Football. Everyone.

“After eight practices, it is hard to deny that Bigsby has started camp off on a hot note in his sophomore season. He has broken off long runs in several practices, had an impressive showing in short-yardage and red-zone situations on Friday, and most importantly has not had any issues with drops or fumbles up to this point.”

Doug Pederson on #Jaguars RB Tank Bigsby's showing Saturday night: "Nice job in the run game, protection, obviously the kickoff returns. He's evolving ... it means a lot to him."

Bigsby averaged 9.3 yards per carry (3 for 28), had a 45-yard kickoff return.

“Tank, looking like an entirely new back in 2023 continued to build on his second-year ascension in today’s practice with two explosive rushes and probably another 4-5 solid gains throughout the 11-on-11 teams period. He then added the cherry on the top with a receiving touchdown in 7-on-7 redzone. For all the fantasy football players who were worried about Tank siphoning work from Travis Etienne, it’s possible you may just have been a season early.”

If the Jags are playing well and in contention for the division title, Tank will likely push towards 150 carries. Last year they simply couldn't trust him with the football

Tank Bigsby looking much improved in Year 2 with 11 rushes for 73 yards. I’ve always been a big Etienne fan, but his ceiling of effectiveness is probably 250 touches. There could be room for Bigsby.

He looked good running today. He also didn't get hit in the backfield on any carry I saw...and ran out of under center whenever I was looking up. And didn't fumble any into the endzone.

Could be value here as season goes on, certainly if ETN is injured ever.

Looking at the waiver wire. As an Etienne owner I'm a bit worried. Considering dropping Benson (really only a thing if Connor is injured) for Bigsby. Same situation except it looks like Tank might be the goal line guy. Don't want to panic so wondering how the hive feels about this. The waiver machine here wants me to waive Tayson Hill. I think not. I think he has a better chance (sans injury) of value than Benson.

Shocked that nobody put a claim on him in dynasty. I know there's not a lot of love for the talent / upside, but considering my RB room is CMC and figure it out, this guy could actually provide some utility.

Dropped Vidal. This is an unrelated side rant, but my RB room is becoming clogged with Matt Waldman favorites that are contributing very little to my fantasy team. K Herbert, Spears, McLaughlin. Felt good to push back on a 6th round rookie, but I'm sure he's now destined for instant stardom.

Got him for 12% (next bid was 6%). Higher than I wanted but I wanted to make sure I got him if in fact he eats into ETN's carries further.

I called Bigsby fools gold, yet I put in a bid for him. We will see how that goes. I'm a hypocrite I suppose.

Got Tank as the speculative bench RB that might have value later in the season. Dropped Tracy for him so I'm not worried if he doesn't pan out.

Perhaps can see him being in a Monty role - first second down, perhaps goal line. That is valuable for fantasy but that may be a while and the Jaguars are definitely not the Lions.

I got him in both of my leagues. If he falls back to irrelevance than so be it, but it's worth the "gamble" if he continues to eat into ETN's carries (He doesn't seem like a threat for the 3rd role however).

As a ETN owner I dropped Braelon Allen for him today

Pederson says Evan Engram "is a little further away" and that they are going to take it day by day.

Savage they are going to work back in this week and hope he can play.

Tank Bigsby is OK and will play.

Tank Bigsby out-snapped Travis Etienne for the first time in his career today.

Bigsby in Week 5:

- 41% snap rate
- 13-101-2 rushing
- 60% snap rate and both rush attempts from inside of the 10-yard line

Early charting has Tank Bigsby with nine avoided tackles in Week 5.

This would push his avoided tackle rate to 46% on the year. That would rank first among RBs with 30+ rush attempts.

I'm not feeling good as an ETN owner. Tank just flat out looks better. Oh....and they won.
