RB Tony Pollard, TEN (1 Viewer)

I'm trying to avoid Pollard in my drafts and let others take him based on past performance. I think the smarter money is to wait and take Spears later.
I think Pollard is still a little undervalued. He performed well last year and if Cam is upgrade there may be room for further production from Pollard. I also do not trust Spears to remain healthy enough for a much larger workload.

I hear what you're saying - Pollard has been a bit underrated since leaving Dallas. But as mentioned, I think people will look at last year's stats in his workhorse role and extrapolate that. He's always been most effective by staying fresh and in his age 28 season with two straight 300+ touch seasons, my sense is that they don't want to overwork him. Agreed that Spears has had problems staying healthy, but RB injuries are tough to predict. Guys are injury risks until they're not.

Agree on this. Still a lot of time for ADP to shift, but give me Judkins/BRobinson over Pollard in that range. I might even lean Pacheco/Aaron Jones over him there instead. I'd have Pollard about a round and a half later than his current price, valued closer to Jordan Mason/Jaylen Warren.

I'm a Pollard believer this year.

He returned value last year (on a team that averaged 18.3 PPG) and I think personnel improvements on that side of the ball along with managing his snap count potentially makes him more efficient.

Don't overhype a RB on a bad team with a bad offence. Nothing is more depressing than watching Titans games hoping their run game is still relevant down multiple scores.

I don't disagree but Pollard has been fine on bad teams for years. I'd say just project normal stats and discard Spears injury or Ward's presence or anything else just stay with expected.
He finds a way. He doesn't barrel over guys or anything but he finds a way.

He's at an age that injury concerns get a little heightened. The Titans have to have a backup they trust. Spears now has to shake a made of glass type label

Nothing but upside here in my opinion. If Ward does decent, pollard could be a late steal for RB 1/2
Agreed. If Ward can even resemble a mid-tier QB, defenses will have to respect his explosive arm.

If D's are stacking the box, Pollard doesn't have the kind of frame to inspire confidence in a full season of him standing upright.

Pollard in Dallas could make ya think he's getting seven yards per carry and 5-6 catches and pretty exciting as a backup.

Pollard in TEN as the workhorse is not really his forte. It's boring and predictable and it's not much of a help to the QB because he's pretty much a lock for 3-4 yards. He's not breaking many or having many 15 yarders even. It's predictable in a "you replaced Henry" manner. He gets worn down and some of the screens he gets, you can kinda tell he is a bit flat.

One of Callahan's big things last summer and then this whole off-season was to put in a good amount of plays for Spears. They needed another weapon, Pollard needed some of the weight off his back and this was a whole focus. Until Spears got hurt a few weeks ago, they practiced these all the time.

Ya know...call me crazy but i think letting Mullings or Chestnut take the first down carries behind the revamped OL might be the best solution.
There's been a lot of talk of rookies needing to step up at WR and TE and how they need another threat.

What about Pollard in that Spears role on second and third down? He's gotta be fresh but his Cowboys days, I know he can do it and be a problem for the Broncos.

I don't see why it matters if Pollard gets a boringly predictable three yards on first down or the younger backs do.

I think this won't happen but at the same time, I wouldn't be surprised if we saw some Dallas-y Pollard plays.

"Since Surtain is shutting down Ridley, we're gonna give you all these unproven guys to throw to and rely on in your first start" is not a plan. Ya don't do that.

I think Pollard is a very strong start for FF this week. We can guess on different ways or styles he can be used but I think he's gonna put up some good numbers.

Also, I wouldn't be surprised if Mullings is the goal line back. He's violent. He doesn't do ST well. He had a decent pass blocking game week three but otherwise stunk so he's probably not trusted to protect Cam. The negatives but he made the team and he'll be active. It'll save Pollard some and...maybe maybe

Something that might come as a surprise: Tony Pollard was statistically very good today.

92 yards on 20 carries. He generated a 45.0% success rate, his 2nd-highest as a Titan.

Also forced a career-high 14 missed tackles across 20 touches, a 70.0% forced missed tackle rate, the 3rd-highest by a player in a game since 2020 (per @NextGenStats)

#Titans Tony Pollard has forced 20 missed tackles this season, 6 more than any other player in the NFL. His 14 missed tackles forced in Wk 2 were the most by any player in a single game since Wk 12 last season (Josh Jacobs). Pollard has run between the tackles on 55.3% of his carries, gaining 102 of his 152 rushing yds on inside runs (4th-most in NFL). H/T @NextGenStats

Boy I wish Pollard would **** or get off the pot- so far he’s been serviceable but unimpressive, and when Tyjae comes back, I imagine this goes back to RBBC hell. This offense SHOULD come together as the rookies get more comfortable, so the Titans bellcow RB role has value- you just hope the value is higher than ~8.5 points a game on 20 touches.

If he performs worse, at least we could see what we have in Spears.

I don't think Pollard has been bad, really. He is 6th in rushing yards. He's got 20 forced missed tackles. I don't see how Spears improves on that. That is to say I don't think the problem here is the run game/Pollard.

I agree. I think he has been pretty much as expected with being a bit of a disappointment with a lack of TD's. If he punched in a TD or two I think he has a different feel.

Here's hoping those TDs start coming in. I could be suffering from a little Stockholm syndrome with Pollard poor fantasy production being asymmetric with his play on the field. It's a good thing I'm not an NFL head coach.

There's pretty significant doubt in Spears now. Confidence was real high this summer but it's gonna be hard to be explosive returning from his injury and that's his whole game.
Mullings was hopeful to take some of the tough runs away from Pollard. I would definitely worry about TDs with him.

Pollard isn't getting any, as others have said. He's been fine. He's a good player working behind a talented line playing poorly and a terribly managed offense by the HC/OC.

He's a dynamic player. I know I say it a lot, sorry, but he does so much grunt work he looks nothing like the guy in Dallas.

The staff clearly has no confidence in Chestnut so Dike is getting carries and Chig is playing back there a little bit. I sincerely wonder if a bit of rest (provided by a capable replacement) here n there wouldn't help Pollard's numbers. To me, he isn't this plodder type they're using him as

Hopefully they trade him. I know he hasn't done much but it's hard to get a traditional run game going with this offense.
