Received a 100.00 Olive Garden gift card.. (1 Viewer)

I helped out an old friend of my mothers a few weeks back and yesterday she sent me a thank you card with a 100.00 Olive Garden gift card inside.

Not sure what to do with it..shred it or donate it to a needy family? I was also thinking of ordering a bunch of food and handing it out the the homeless in Detroit..not sure they would it eat since they are used to Marios and Roma Cafe.. it but it would be a nice gesture.

Any ideas?

Go to Olive Garden, get a decent, free meal for you and friends or family, and think kindly of the people who wanted to thank you while doing so?

Failing that, they've got a bar. Go get tanked.

Just get tanked before you eat

I'll take it if you are offering!

If you think the food is so bad you cannot eat it for free, why would you give it to homeless people? Why should you feel good about giving them food you consider beneath you.

I just dropped a sandwich on the floor, should i pick it up and give it to someone?

how else do you get rid of all these muffin stumps?

They have a few good items.
There is nothing fundamentally wrong with Olive Garden. They aren't getting any Michelin stars any time soon but they aren't horrifically bad either all shtick aside. And I don't eat at Michelin starred restaurants any other time anyway. I would gladly take a 100.00 GC for them and I know several people that would gladly go with me to use it.

Olive Garden is the Nickelback of restaurants. I am never sure whether its right to rip it mercilessly or extol its underrated virtue.

Find a needy single mom with kids, give it to her. Those families very much appreciate a decent family dinner out but can rarely afford it.

Salad and breadsticks, and keep the martinis coming, toots.

Was just hoping for some place more authentic I guess....

I think they're pretty good. As for "authentic"--who would you say qualifies of any of the chains? Honest question--I'm thinking they're all pretty much knockoffs.

OG is terrible. I'm not high and mighty because I love IHOP and Wendy's. But aside from the bread sticks, OG is just outright bad food. I mean who messes up pasta?!?

Ingrateful *******!While the OG is a generic italian chain its still edible & anyways it was a very nice gesture from the person you helped.

Bending over is for peasant folk. Just kick it along the ground till you find a vagrant. This Olive Garden doesn't even show on Zagat Guide.

To be fair, their non-pasta food like salad and breadsticks is actually fine. It is mind-boggling that they can make pasta that horrible though. I'm not trying to be a snob but it's only a step above Stouffers.

Yeah, this. Just hit the bar a few times until the gift card is expired. Not a problem. Hell, I'll take it.
