Nothing at all like SPR to me. I'll admit, the plot could probably have been tighter. Maybe I got too caught up in the imagery it presented, and the "win at all costs" mentality of the German military at the time period it was attempting to depict, which I thought it did a good job of doing.Perhaps I was a bit overzealous in my first rating. For the battle sequences and imagery alone, I'd give it a solid 7.5. Definitely worth checking out IMO.
Just returned myself.. Time flew by.... very enjoyable and tense Movie.. easily a 8 out of 10 for me..

That's what I was getting at in my original post regarding my cousin. I've done a ton of research on him and where he was during the waning days of the war and it was downright barbaric at times. Thought the film did a good job with the realism of the times.

I was going to watch this on Netflix yesterday where almost every movie gets a 4 - 4.5 stars.
about all i can say for it was that it was slick looking. the rest of it? pretty self-indulgent. i don't think it was as bad as you seem to but it's just not that good.

Haven't seen it, but I expect to have the same reaction. I'll wait until it hits the $3 theater.
A critic pointed out that many WW2 films are heroic exaggerations of a war that was every bit as brutal as Vietnam. So I liked that Fury was willing to be more accurate about that brutality.
