Killing Zoe....Been awhile since Ive seen this under the radar heist movie, but loved it as much as I remember, if not more. Dont recall thinking this specifically before, but I loved how this film is set up around Eric Stoltz's character, who somehow is almost a moral compass. Its really a 3 act downward spiral for him going from a euphoric night with call girl Zoe, to a whirlwind drug binge in the slums of Paris, to a hastily attempted bank robbery on Bastille Day that transpires over the last half of the film. Paralleling Stoltz's character story arc is his childhood friend and leader of the group, played by Jean-Hugues Anglade, whose conflicted character slowly descends into madness, willing to do whatever it takes to leave the bank rich. Its a great performance from him that really carries the film. Gritty, uncompromising, and disturbingly fun with a subtle ending that is more open to conversation and tragic than the viewer might realize at first....4.5/5

It's been a while since I've seen this movie, but it has always stuck with me I think because it gave me a different view of Paris(true or not)not always portrayed in movies.

Plus I like Julie Delpy naked.

I don't know how I've missed this one.

Its around 15 yrs old, so that might be why you missed it, but I agree with Bootleg, and I think Floppo and Saintfool said the same thing, that this is a film that just sticks with you..For me, I think it was the Paris drug binge, seeing musical notes from nowhere, random conversations about vikings and jazz music, etc, and then the heist.Yet, this film has so much more going on than I just said.

This movie deserves it's own thread and will be in my top 10 of 2012. It's not a perfect movie but it does hit the nail on the head about much of what's wrong with the country and was fun to watch. There's a screener out if you don't want to see it in theaters (out on the 31st). Joel Murray was perfect for the role and the girl (Tara Lynne Barr) was great as well, if a bit too Juno-ish. I liked 'World's Greatest Dad' and I'm highly impressed with Bobcat Goldthwait after this. 9/10.

Everything Must Go....Thought this was great. Ferrell is very good at infusing comedy in these understated roles/characters. I expected there to be more to it, thought I might get bored when there wasnt, but that never happened. Im not sure why, but Ferrell's relationship with the boy reminded me of Bad Santa. I guess maybe because in both movies it felt like the feature actor used the kid, wanted pretty much nothing to do with him for the most part, but in the end realized they were friends, they had a meaningful relationship, and they cared about the other's well-being. I give Ferrell a lot of credit for how good this was because EMG would have been pretty boring with many actors in the leading role...4.1/5

this is the BBC trilogy right? if so I watched the first but wasn't bowled over by it. it felt very run-of-the-mill somehow.

i liked this well enough when i saw it in the theater. expanding on a short story, especially a carver one, is always tricky. this felt stretched to the point of being threadbare at the end. ferrell did well enough. he has this kind of work in him as "stranger than fiction" showed but he needs to away from the man-child thing.

Red, IIRC, is an actual crap-fest movie and not a TV show.I didn't realize Evertything was born out of a Carver story... will definitely watch when/if it hits HBO (if I"m not too late).

Bobcat is an amazing filmmaker He may be the most provocative director working. He can explore intimate and complex human behaviors with deftness, skill and entertainment. I can't wait to see GBA.

Whenever I watch a movie, if I see anyone in that movie, whether it be the star or someone in a very small part (usually its the smaller part people), I then think of other movies they were in and tell her, not like she even cares. She never says it bothers her, but I know it does. If I can't think of the movie I google it, because it would drive me up the wall if I couldn't think of it. Really enjoyed Young Adult. Charlize Theron continues to be an impressive, underrated actress. She really elevated what could have been a boring movie. She's just so good in tough roles. Patton Oswalt was very good too. Very relatable movie, might be a little too dark and depressing for some.3.5/5

Still always make sure to catch some episodes when they do the marathons. I don't think I could name a favorite now, too many options. Love the one with Shatner at the diner or on the plane, Burgess Meredith as the librarian, the camera that takes pics of the future, the old woman at the farmhouse with the aliens, the guy that relives his childhood in his old home town. So many great ones.One episode I keep trying to catch is called "Twenty-two" with the catch phrase "Room for one more, honey"

I didnt think Bale overacted in this, his character was essentially Patrick Bateman meets bipolar meathead cop. I thought Freddy Rodriguez was pretty good as well. I like this movie although its entertaining more than anything.

Thankfully I never saw Critters but I actually thought the main bad guy was the best part of a mediocre film.An alcohol fused young guy like you, healthy and well fed.I bet you watch a lot of television, don't cha? Do ya? Do ya? Yeah! In this situation hereyou're probably thinking... I could save the day. I could be the hero and I say... Don't do that, ok?

I'm sorry, but Jumper was just awful. And it could have been good, which made it even worse.

I would say that Jumper was a big disappointment but that would imply that I had high expectations for it.
