Jackass 2 was funny, but I almost puked twice.Pirates of the Carribian Dead Man's Chest: Makes you want to see #3.Running Scared: Great movie, even with Paul Walker in it. :lmao:
My BIL says Running Scared is so bad it's genius. He's rented it three times on pay-per-view. He keeps on trying to get me to watch it. I haven't given in yet.
I didn't dig Running Scared. Horrible acting by the lead actor Paul Walker.

Has anyone seen "Click" with Adam Sandler...is it worth renting?
No, I haven't seen it and no, it's not worth renting.
Trying to find something the wife and I can watch together...I "usually" like Sandler movies and I am assuming there is some chick-flick mentality to it. Another plus, Kate Beckinsale is in it!
Kate Beckinsdale is uber-hot, but it still didn't make it worth renting. It's just a bad rip-off of Family Man which was a bad rip-off of It's a Wonderful Life.
horrible. made it about 45 minutes before I shut it off.

So I just watched Mad Max for the first time. It's one of my buddy's favourite movies, and it's apparently a classic.

It might honestly have been one of the worst movies I've ever seen. Why is that crud so popular? Other than 2 or 3 decent car crashes, the movie has absolutely NOTHING going for it. Terrible acting, terrible music, a lame plot, an even lamer ending. Seriously, it was just AWFUL.

A couple of night ago I saw The Last Kiss. This movie was not at all the rom-com that it was advertised to be. It was probably even more depressing than Zach Braff's previous effort in "Garden State." This movie was all about relationship's -- F-ed up relationships. Too many guys making "guy" decisions (wife's a b####, I'm gonna leave her; I like my gf, but I still want to play the field; I never want to grow up) and an older woman (Blythe Danner) making a chick decision (my husband doesn't pay enough attention to me, I'm gonna leave him). It was very well done though and put me to mind of other well-done relationship downers like "Spanglish" and "In the Bedroom."
And you get to see Rachel Bilson's b :banned: bies.

Not sure what it was, but I hated this movie. And I like Zach Braff a lot.

Watched Brothers of the Head last night after I saw a trailer for it that grabbed me. Turned out to not be what I expected, but I struggled through it for 93 minutes and it redeemed itself in the last third.

It was an interesting look at a fictional 70's punk band created by the industry and fronted by a genius pair of siamese twins. It was difficult to watch because it was shot in documentary fashion, which works for Spinal Tap and Best in Show, but is more difficult when the material is supposed to be serious. The music was surprisingly good. I'd recommend it for fans of music docs, 70s punk, or darker films.

This question took me aback for a moment and I had to think hard about it; even discussed it with a co-worker before I replied. While much of the acting, editing and production truly was amateurish indeed, we felt that it was the nightmarish, and unique, view of society's slow deterioration into barbarity that made this movie so interesting. Mel's character was initially resistant to this decline, being vested in society via his hot wife and infant child, while Toecutter and the gay bikers represented the leading edge of humankind plunging into the abyss of amorality. That's all I got.

:lmao:

She used a body double in The Last Kiss for a nude scene.

Actress Rachel Bilson refused to strip off for raunchy scenes in new movie The Last Kiss, forcing studio bosses to call in a body double.

Disappointing. Pretty convincing editing.

It is genius, and you may tear up a bit. Walker is a horrible actor in this movie but it is very well written.

If they were trying to portray Mel as resistant to the decline, they didn't do a very good job. The opening sequence where he chases down the Night Rider after the other cops all fail immediately cast him as the "bad-###" cop who's already edgier and closer to darkness than the rest of them. So when they cut to all his family scene, they weren't believable to me because he was already the dark protagonist. So I found the rest of his "journey" completely preposterous and poorly thought out.

I'm not familiar with that cliché. The movie was still bad.I am going to try watching The Road Warrior, though, to see if it's any better. I expect it will be.

I still see it as a creative piece of filmmaking but maybe part of that is because I first saw it 27 years ago, not this week. The film did a good job of portraying everyday people trying to hold onto their humanity, even when there seemed to be no reward in doing so. Though there's no question that, even by 1979 standards, the production was pretty clunky overall.

Windy City Heat.

Either the joke is on Perry which I find hard to believe.

or

The joke is on us and Perry is incredible.

Has anyone seen this? I bought it at Best Buy in their MTV television section. It was made a few years ago but I guess it just came to dvd. It's pretty interesting. Jimmy Kimmel and Adam Corolla are tied to it. I'm not sure what to make of it but I laught pretty hard during a few segments and will probably watch it again.

Saw "The Descent" yesterday, and I thought it was awful. It's weird that the plot would be so incoherent, because it's basically about some semi-hot chicks putting themselves in danger and having horror hijinx ensue. It also had woefully undeveloped characters for even this type of movie.

Silent Hill.... BLECK!!! Although it had some very good imagery in it...it 's storyline was weak. It reminded me alot of the movie The Cell. In both, they put alot of time into the visuals ...but chinsed out in the script.

Da Davinci Code..... BLEH! I'm a big fan of the multinationl, trans-generational, secret society, conspiracy theories. I loved the book The Illmuniatus Trilogy by Anton Shea...but this DaVinci Code movie was weak. Tom Hanks was a tool, the girl was hot but boring, the albino villian not even intimidating and the overall plot...boring. Let's put it this way.....about 3/4 way through the movie I got up and went to the computer to reply to a post made by Bueno. The only decent part was the character of Sir Ian McKellan...but that was too little too late.

Superman Returns - About an hour too long, this movie drug on forever. The major problem was, because of the similarity between this and the first, you end up comparing the characters to the originals. Essentially just ended up being a second-hand rehash of the first....even the plots and some of the shots were similar.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest - Another long movie, but this one didn't feel as long as Superman Returns. It's a fun movie that keeps you entertained.

Just got finished with Sliver for the 4th time, wifey hadnt seen it, and I told her it was a great movie, so we just had to rent it from Netflix. Of course the movie is ok and I just watched it for Sharon Stone and the pillar scene.

Also got through Brewster Millions. Hilarious movie and one that didnt get much notice. The same with Hollywood Shuffle. All 3 she hasnt seen so it was a good weekend, especially after Sliver.

Not sure what it was, but I hated this movie. And I like Zach Braff a lot.
I REALLY hated it, despite liking Garden State a lot.OK, I'm no longer a twenty something, but this didn't seem to be a movie about twentysomethings so much as a movie about cliches about twentysomethings. I don't mind a lead character who's a bit of an #######, but at least they could have made him an interesting #######.

Windy City Heat.Has anyone seen this?
I've never even heard of it. Who's Perry?
It's a movie produced by Jimmy Kimmell and Adam Corolla I think. It was made a few years ago but I think just was released on dvd.Basically the whole movie is a gag on this strange aspiring actor named Perry. Perry thinks he just landed a starring role in a major motion picture. But the movie production is staged and it's all a goof.But...I think Perry is in on the joke and they're just trying to fool us.Either way it had me cracking up throughout. The Perry guy is either an idiot or very talented.

Just watched a French thriller named "Calvaire." Translated, that means "the ordeal." An apt title. Very well made, but awful to watch at the same time. Though I'd say this is too excruciating to recommend, it does have one of the greatest trailer tag lines of all time:

Lost in the woods

near a quiet country village.

What's the worst that could happen?

Ask the pig.

TRAILER
The reviews for this are intriguing. Every one I've seen says something like "too disturbing to recommend" or "it will turn your stomach" or "it made me feel violated for days". I feel like a kid in his grandma's house, and every time I visit, grandma makes it a point of saying "whatever you do, do NOT open that door!". I just HAVE to see what is behind the door now.
It's not gory. It's more of a psychological drama than a horror film. But it certainly is meant to torture the viewer.
Well, I opened the door at grandma's house and watched Calvaire. I was a little disappointed...it certainly was disturbing and weird, but I was expecting something completely off the charts considering the reviews. Oh well, worth a shot anyway.

I thought it did a good job at character development. But ultimately, it was more of an art house thriller than a horror film.

It's much better. I never understood why they rated them the same except that Mad Max was the first one of that genre.

Watched Talladega Nights yesterday, and it was one of the worst movies I have ever seen, I usually like Will Ferrel movies, but this one was a total waste of my time.

Wow. We have very different taste in movies, apparently.

You, Me and Dupree -- There were a couple of small laughs, but nothing great overall. Not one of the better showings from Owen Wilson.

Friends with Money -- I actually thought this was going to be a stupid romantic comedy, but it actually tried to be more meaningful. It was kind of boring.

Jackass 2 -- Not quite as good as the first one, but still pretty damn funny and gross and amazing.

I had a vasectomy on friday, this weekend and saw several movies

Fearless - Very good action, movie was quite boring in non-fight scenes

Dead Man's Chest (POTC) - very good

The Decent - very gory, very good, neat ending

Artie Lang's Beer League - I went in expecting much and found myself laughing alot

Lady in the Water - I like Shamalyans movies, but this was boring

LAST KISS - worst movie I have seen in last decade, just horrible, just awful
