Are they streaming anywhere?FInally watched The Raid 2 last night. It was decent but no where close to the original that I really enjoyed
Watching this one nextIt's okay. Miller's Crossing might be my #1 movie ever, and Fargo is not far behind.
I didn't "get" NCFOM either.
Raid 2 was on huluAre they streaming anywhere?
I did like it, it was so bizarre that I ended up watching it again to truly try and understand it allPrior thoughts on The Lobster. @CGRdrJoe, did you like it?
I was actually being a little generous, imo. Without giving anything away since it's so new, I found it to be unrealistic at times and overall emotionless. And I didn't care for the kid playing against him and it was actually hard to root for Cage too.I can’t believe I’m sitting here saying Pig was better than 3 stars. It was though. An interesting spin on the revenge genre and actually leaves one with something to think about.

@jamny - just out of curiosity for perspective, what the last couple movies you've seen that were 4+/5?I haven't really watched a lot of movies over the past few years, so I decided to start catching up on some over the next few months.
Coherence - A group of pretentious unlikeables gather for a dinner party on the night of a passing comet. They all immediately freak out and overreact when the lights go out but things do get weird and give them a reason to freak out even more. Great premise with some tense moments but overall kind of a mess. 2.5/5
Pig - Man loves pig. Man losses pig. Man looks for pig. In between there's a weird Fight Club, a Michelin star restaurant where the patrons don't even notice a bloody and filthy homeless man and a d-bag Adam Arkin. Nic Cage is excellent but he should look for a truffle dog. 3/5
Arrival - Giant bean shaped spaceships show up all over the world. Amy Adams and Jeremy Renner have to figure out what's up before the rest of the humans do what humans do and blow them all up. Excellent visuals, interesting overall concept and good performances all around. 3.5/5
Martyrs - Well that was lovely. Blood, guts, torture and everything else I expected. Starts right in and never lets up but there is an actual storyline and interesting premise. I wasn't paying attention to the time and thought it was over, thinking "that was it?" but I was very wrong. Hard to watch and one I will never watch again but it wasn't just torture porn. 3/5
I had Red October on vhs and would rewind the last 5 minutes over and over to listen to the Hymn of red october.Wife got home late last night, I was actually going to put on MC, but it wasn't streaming anymore so instead I rolled out The Hunt for Red October b/c it was 1990 and it was in 4K.
I haven't seen a 5 star movie in a long time but those that are up there that I've seen over the past few years would be:@jamny - just out of curiosity for perspective, what the last couple movies you've seen that were 4+/5?
Martyrs is one that I have been trying to convince myself to rewatch. Not sure if I can think of a movie more brutal to watch, but I remember really liking it and being surprised at what the plot was. Sets the tone immediately with a shotgun blast if I remember right.
All right. While we're still under a caution, I want you to go back out on that track and hit the pace car..Days of Thunder
Now THIS is a movie.
yeah. whatever you do, don't watch something worthwhile like Miller's Crossing.Dances with Wolves.
Oh man is this a dull movie.
Sure it seems slow, you are all hopped up on the movie equivalent of cotton candy and Mountain Dew the last few months.Dances with Wolves.

I looked 2 nights ago. Dammit, I just went to click the laugh button. In two weeks, KP will be posting stuff like how he's down to only a few movies released from 1990 that he has not seen yet, including Miller's Crossing, and then next post will be that he just fired Look Who's Talking Too or something.
Fair point.Sure it seems slow, you are all hopped up on the movie equivalent of cotton candy and Mountain Dew the last few months.
Yeah I really liked Dances with Wolves.Fair point.
Is this a movie you enjoy? I tapped out after 90mins.
Yeah, it got taken away.Did the “laugh” reaction disappear or am I having a Mandela moment?
Library have it?Its. not. on. a. streaming. service. currently!I looked 2 nights ago.
I assume because of the possibility someone was laughing at and not laughing with? Was there an incident in particular that brought this about?Yeah, it got taken away.
I think a number of people in one forum in particular, rather one incident.I assume because of the possibility someone was laughing at and not laughing with? Was there an incident in particular that brought this about?
Yeah that has been going on for awhile. Talk about a black hole.I think a number of people in one forum in particular, rather one incident.
I haven't seen Christo in monthsI assume because of the possibility someone was laughing at and not laughing with? Was there an incident in particular that brought this about?
I wanted to laugh at that post but...I haven't seen Christo in months
We'll be reduced to tears and confusion very soon.I wanted to laugh at that post but...
Mostly a handful of posters in the PSF using it to laugh at every post without a retort is my understanding. Now it's descended into an immature argument over who is hitting the report button over an emoji.I assume because of the possibility someone was laughing at and not laughing with? Was there an incident in particular that brought this about?
Yes. The local library actually does according to the site. I have to pick up the son from practice soon, so I will stop in to see if it's actually there.Library have it?
I just hope I’m not gonna have to strap you in Clockwork Orange style to watch it.
I won’t watch it ever again either. Oof.Martyrs - Well that was lovely. 3/5
I really hope you like it after all thisDamn library closes early now.
I just bought the movie instead.![]()

It's no Days of Thunder, that's for damn sure.I can't believe you guys got him to buy such a horrible movie....![]()
Plus, the purchase was one whole dollar more than the rental, so I lived on the edge and took the risk I'd like it enough to watch again. If you don't like it, I'll sit facing the corner in a funny hat. It's no Days of Thunder, that's for damn sure.Plus, the purchase was one whole dollar more than the rental, so I lived on the edge and took the risk I'd like it enough to watch again.
As if you don't already do that...If you don't like it, I'll sit facing the corner in a funny hat.
Everyone's so gosh darn smart. Well, we'll go to Miller's Crossing. And we'll see who's smart. As if you don't already do that...
Like seeing Red Shoes in his Top 5 at the bottom... just got the Criterion UHD blu-ray of that one.
