Does anyone watch this show? I hardly every hear anyone talk about it... so I'm thinking the answer is no. I have had to work night shift at times, and I catch this show on FOX, and I think it is hilarous. The wommens guests they get are always smokin', the comedians are funny, and who doesn't like 'Pinch' the recent regular NYT guest?

In a five-minute segment broadcast March 17, 2009, Gutfeld and his panel satirically mocked Canadian Lieutenant General Andrew Leslie's recent comment that the Canadian military may require a one year "synchronized break" once Canada's mission in Afghanistan ends in 2011. "Meaning, the Canadian military wants to take a breather to do some yoga, paint landscapes, run on the beach in gorgeous white Capri pants," Gutfeld said. "I didn't even know they were in the war," panelist Doug Benson added. "I thought that's where you go if you don't want to fight. Go chill in Canada."...

The show has a 'political' correspondent as well as a 'death' correspondent and a 'jailhouse' correspondent. 'Congressional' correspondent Thaddeus McCotter is hilarous. All I hear about is how 'old' and 'stoggy' the GOP is. This show is definitely slanted right... and it funny (I realize that is my opinon). Everyone talks about how the GOP is going get younger voters interested in the party... I think a show like Red Eye could be it... "and if you don't agree with me... then you sir, are worse then Hitler."

It's been on for almost 2 years. Very funny, IMO. Easy to see why 90% of people would hate it, but the beauty is Gutfeld and crew know it and do those bits on purpose just because of that.

The show's actually called "Red Eye w/Greg Gutfeld". Something about "Red Eye" already being taken.

Wanted to add Thaddeus McCotter is excellent on the show. He's extremely bright and has a dry wit. More elephants should take note.

i assume you miss the good ol days of the daily show hosted by craig kilborn then? i think stewart is going for something above and beyond what gutfeld is and that's not to denigrate gutfeld either. they are kind of apple and oranges really. look at the guests that stewart books, for example. gutfeld has a fratboy type of humor to mine to his heart's content and the dozens of fans that enjoy that will delight in it.

I've watched a few episodes of the John Stewart show... but never saw the Kilborn version... so I don't know. I agree... it is like apples and oranges... that's why I don't understand the original post that says Red Eye was put on to compete with The Daily Show... I don't really think that was the intent... but maybe?Dozens of fans?

The show's second anniversary episode on February 5, 2009, however, appeared to show significant improvement: Red Eye averaged 390,000 viewers

Over the years, more than 125,000 Canadian military personnel have served on peacekeeping missions for the United Nations – more than any other country..

So you say not to insult the daily show... then you insult Red Eye? The 'for drunks in the middle of the night' part I agree with... but comparisons to The View are waaaaay off... not even close.Besides... it wasn't meant as an insult... as I mentioned before... just pointing out that the two shows are on a completely different level... weather you take offense to my statement is one thing, but doesn't mean it's not true.

You can't be serious. I mistakingly tuned into it while channel surfing. It sucked balls. Not Hannity balls, but a different kind of balls.

They did insult the Canadian Forces a little. But could you imagine any other nation in the world being able to say that their entire military is going to have to take a 1 year time out????I understand the burden being placed on the CF. They have excellent soldiers, sailors and airmen, but the Canadian Government has saddled them with woefully outdated equipment. The only exception is the Canadian Special Forces. They do have top notch gear.

The Canadian Navy can't conduct proper air operations because their helicopters need tens if not hundreds of maintenance hours for every hour of flight time. Their warships are newer, but the biggest combat vessels they have are frigates. They have four diesel submarines and only one is currently seaworthy. Their land vehicles are presently in a horrible state of repair. According to the top General in the CF, fully 1/3 of their Light Armored vehicles are out of action. 75% of their Armored Reconaisance Vehicles are out of service. 73% of their light armored support vehicles are out of action and 71% of their Leopard Tanks are out of action. 80 of those tanks are just sitting in Canada while the government wrangles over letting a contract to have these used tanks upgradd to Canadian standards.

It is probably inevitable that the Canadina Forces will have to take an operational break. But it's probably an insult to their national pride. The Canadian Forces are competent and highly professional. But they have been let down by their government and their equipment. I hope they can get their gear refurbed. But I agree that the Canadians have relied on the U.S. for their defense for a long time and the result is that they can not sustain an operational tempo that involves longer term combat operations.

Can you imagine the uproar in the U.S. Congress and on Main Street if 1/3rd of our Bradley's or Strykers were out of commission or if 70% of our Abrams tanks were not able to be deployed?

Edit to add that the Canadian Navy does have four destroyers that were built in 1970 and 1971 and had service life extension refits in the 1990s.
