Wow... Love the skins logo
Kinda surprised it's still a . . . well, redskin. PC is going to eventually grind out a win.

San Diego has to stay with the lightning bolts, imo.
I don't think they were tasked with re-naming teams for no good reason too.
I don't get the horse thing for SD. What's the deal with that?

plural noun: chargers
  1. 1.
a horse trained for battle; a cavalry horse.

  2. 2.
a device for charging a battery or battery-powered equipment.
yes the chargers throw back logo is the horse with a shield.

some of these are decent, I dont like SD or the lions one.

I agree that the steelers logo is pretty radical, but I really like how the more you stare at the three bars, you see the letter S, at least I did
were you drinking while looking at these lol?
Good. I thought I was the only one. I stared at that damn Steelers logo for like five minutes after reading his comment and never saw an S.
I am still looking lol. I wanna see an S, just not happening

By my unscientific count, at least 12 NFL teams should immediately drop their current logos and adopt these new ones. And the Pats, Titans, and Rams' GMs should be fired immediately if they don't.

NYG, GB, and Cinci are clunkers, and SD needs to stay with the bolt. A few more are "meh" (you just can't make a Cardinal or Dolphin badass, no matter how hard you try). But two-thirds of 'em being at least no worse than the status quo is pretty impressive.

I'm digging NE, TEN, STL, and SF for sure. A bunch of meh ones and a few WTF ones like MIN. BUF, CIN, ATL (looks like a bat)

As a designer, there is a lot to like about wanting to redesign logos. I've seen a few team logo redesigns on other websites and one thing many of the current team logos strive for is simplicity. How can the logo be used in multiple fashions (i.e., print, apparel, web, etc.)?

Many of these revisions are pretty good, but not would not really translate well into other formats. That is why many team logos have large fonts, or clean geometrical shapes.

As one poster said earlier in this thread...K-I-S-S.

Too many are too similar to existing logos. The ones he actually took some artistic liberty with are pretty cool.

The Bengal and Jaguar have the exact same ear and look pretty much the same but flipped. Part of the flaw with this whole thing is that it's pretty obvious all 32 come from the same hand which makes them rather UFL-ish.

Though the idea of a sperm with a jaguar head is sorta cool I guess.

And I'm warming up to the idea of some dude sitting back, peeling some shrimp when *boom* a Bengal head comes out of one and eats his face.

I really liked the Raiders, Bucs, Titans, Rams, Patriots, and Redskins. A couple teams that shouldn't be touched are the Vikings, Packers, Bears, Colts, Steelers, and Cowboys.

The Seahawk looks like an angry parakeet. The Bengals logo looks like a shrimp.

Not bad, not that great either

I expected this to be pretty dumb, but was pleasantly surprised.

Very clever embedding of additional elements...

- the football player for Buffalo,

- turning the shoehorse into a "C" for the Colts,

- the letter "T" in the faceplate of the Titan's

- "C" for the Chargers

- "R" for the Redskins

- "V" on the chest of the VIkings,

- "F" on the falcons (this one may be a stretch though)

I don't find much interesting about the green bay logo, but I don't have any suggestions.

Ehh wasn't too crazy about most of them. I counted 5 teams I liked better than the current logos. The entire AFC East, and the Browns. That's about it for me...

Oh, ok. Just always saw them with the bolts.

Nice work but I like the logos as they are pretty much. These seem a little too "badass" too slick, if thats possible.
Yeah, no way an NFL teams wants to look "badass" or be described as badass or really well produced.
Yeah, ok genius, then why do a lot of NFL logos look like they do? There's more to it than that.... making every thing with an angry look, super "badass" is pretty juvenile- but I guess you like it, really well produced, lol.

Most of them are pretty good, some great. I don't like the monochromatic-ness of the Seahaeks current logo, but this one is worse. Looks like the Atlanta Thrashers mated with Nashville Predators. I'm sure most people will like their team less than they do others. I do like incorporating letters into the logo. The Falcons has been subtle for years and there's probably more than just them already around doing that.

The best subtle touch among these logos, in my opinion, is in the Broncos logo. Most people see the horse's head, but if you look closer you'll notice it's also a snow capped mountain. Awesome.

I saw the mountain stuff in the Broncos logo immediately....and hated it. It looks like a decaying horse with it's hair on fire.

The "Arizona Marlon Brando Birds" is also....odd. Homeslice needs to go on a diet.

Some team IDs are near impossible to really come up with reasonable alternatives(I've yet to see a Steelers revamp that made much sense, etc).

The Cowboys redo looks way too much Shepard Fairey's "Andre the Giant" thing to me.

As someone already mentioned, even with the stronger revamps some of these just wouldn't work as anything other than what they are(beauty shots) when it came time to try to make them into an embroidered patch for a hat/screen print/etc.

As a graphic designer/illustrator, I respect the effort regardless. 32 logos is a lot of work and more than half of them are pretty strong pieces of artwork.

AFC:

Liked only Colts, Titans, and Patriots. Den wasn't bad.

Colts horseshoe "C" is the one that really stood out for me as it was such a simple but brilliant change. You could even change it to actually spell out the word "Colts", but use the horseshoe C.

BUF: Don't get it...red/blue color scheme that was used washes everything out

CIN: Yea, whomever called it an "embryo" was dead on

KC: Doesn't stand out enough....especially the arrow screws it up as it isn't "distinct"

SD: Lightning bolt is too iconic to move away from

NFC:

Liked only Wash, Chi, and parts of the SF (the "SF" and "49ers" needs to be set in a bigger font....too small)

NYG and GB: These are a mess and look like some kind of Tetris game.

MIN: others have already discussed so no need to add

ATL and SEA: both are bad. For SEA, just don't like the color scheme
