March 10, 2006, 05:48 Redskins, 49ers :: WRRedskins Eyeing 49ers' WR LloydJason La Canfora, Washington Post - [Full Article]The Redskins are exploring available options for acquiring San Francisco WR Brandon Lloyd, according to a source with knowledge of the situation, but completing such a deal could prove difficult because Lloyd is a restricted free agent. Lloyd, 24, has been unable to agree to a long-term deal with the 49ers and is free to negotiate with any team, but he received a one-year qualifying offer from San Francisco that would require a first-round draft pick as compensation should he sign elsewhere.

yeah, this is kind of a weak rumor considering that big stumbling block mention by Phlash.

A 1st round pick, as compensation for Lloyd, is negotiable if the 49er's so desire.

Remember last year when the Colts made it known that Edge, their Franchised player, could be had for less then the 1st rounder, as stipulated by the Franchise tag?

Redskins have been giving away NEXT years first rounder since Snyder came aboard ..year after year!

lol

they're always trading their future 1st-round pick( usually next years #1) for something THIS year..

I don't think danny-boy wants to pay anyone first round $$...

I think Danny-boy wants to pay all his players first round $$ (but the cap won't let him).

You mean like (in order) he paid Bailey, Arrington & Samuels (same year), Gardner, Ramsey, Taylor and Rogers and Campbell (again, same year)? You're the first guy I've seen ever to accuse Snyder of being cheap.

There are good and bad values to be had in the first round and the 'Skins tend to deal those high picks as readily as they deal lower round picks if they think they see value. I have to laugh at a Giants fan talking about that being a stupid policy when his team traded away the world to dump Phillip Rivers for Eli Manning.

Actually that's not necessarily a bad idea. First round picks are often overpriced compared to veteran talent. The higher your pick is, the more true that usually becomes too.

Didn't Brandon Lloyd catch flak for short-arming a couple of passes last year? Does he really want to play 4 games against Brian Dawkins and Roy Williams?

The same Roy Williams Moss made look like a fool by single handedly beating on deep patterns?William is a horibble cover guy - and a cheap shot artist - not a great player/tackler.

Redskins | Team working to acquire Lloyd

Jason La Canfora, of the Washington Post, reports the Washington Redskins are working to acquire restricted free agent WR Brandon Lloyd from the San Francisco 49ers, according to several league sources. According to sources, the two sides were working on parameters for a deal, but had yet to agree on compensation.

I think the 49ers need to keep him, hell if they could get a 1st rounder for him that's all great but anything less and they're suckers again. He's their #1 WR, York needs to go...
